Lots of decorations made by poor people. Seems pretty rotten of the corporation but there were a few people shopping here despite this. The music playing was pretty awful and I needed to leave before checking out all the goods that can be made by exploitative business practices. read more

I just love Hobby Lobby. I could and do spend a lot of time just browsing the isles. I can always find something I would just love to add to my apartment and/or garden. Their displays are always put together so well to invite you to take a closer look...and decide if you want to bring something home. They even have the best tee shirts for men and women. The good heavy cotton quality. The kind you would be proud to wear out in public or comfortable enough to sleep in. I really appreciate all of the very positive sayings and scripture they have on wall hangings and signs. Pretty simple story, Hobby Lobby wrote me a rain check, they called when the items came in, and when I came to pick them up they wouldn't give me the rain check price. The irritable old grandmother with the customer service manager name tag, didn't have even a shred of customer service in her. I won't be back, and since I'm bored I'm going to escalate this complaint as high as I can. Don't offer me a rain check price if you aren't going to honor it. read more

Notice that residents of the Portland and Salem metropolitan areas are reviewing Hobby Lobby in Albany, some 15 minutes south of Salem, and that most are content with the store.. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be going to a Hobby Lobby in Albany, Oregon. However, it's the closest one to our area if you look at the store locator. First of all, yes, Hobby Lobby is a Christian run organization but that aspect of it need not hit you over the head. They also have generic "feel good" messages of all types. Some of it can be kitsch and more in tune with a grandmother's style of decking out her house. They have stuff of all types and for just about every indoor type of hobby, as opposed to outdoor ones. What took me there was that they were the only ones who had a frame for an odd size print I had with metric dimensions that needed to be converted into Imperial ones. The customer service is very pleasant throughout the store, with their framing department providing exacting and thorough help, almost as if it was a labor of love. I was really impressed. Hobby Lobby also has specials and discounts on many things, possibly making a needed excursion to Albany cost effective. And, if you haven't been there before, Albany might as well be on a different planet from the city of Portland. Be sure to walk around the entire store. There will be stuff that will be carried in voluminous quantities, stuff that will make you shake your head, and stuff that will make you laugh. Hobby Lobby is in Heritage Mall. It's a small indoor mall just south of the main drag as you come off I-5 at exit 234. What's interesting about it is that the anchors are stores like Target and even this Hobby Lobby. There is a small food court inside and some stand alone merchants you may have never heard of. However, it is interesting because it's not something you're used to seeing if you're used to the 4 major malls around Portland-Vancouver. Hobby Lobby, ordinarily, would garner 3 stars from me. Because of their service, reasonable (enough) pricing, and the extra mile they went in the framing department, they get bumped up to 4 stars. Also, if planning to make the jaunt down south I-5, be sure to check their hours, especially on holidays and religious holidays, since their hours might not be typical retail hours. They are closed on Sundays, and definitely closed on Easter Sunday. read more

Oh. My. Word. I can't even begin to describe the awesomeness that is Hobby Lobby. This was my first trip (of many, I'm sure). The selection is amazing, the customer service fantastic, and the prices were jaw-dropping. I wish I'd had longer to browse! I can't wait to go back when I have more time. Note to self: set a strict budget or leave the credit cards at home (or the hubs will not be a happy man). read more

Super slow check out with one cashier at Christmas time! Nothing like 1 minute to get what I need and 15 minutes to buy it!

Employees are not helpful when asked a simple qu. I might have had more help if I fit the demographic. 4/29 update. Still not helpful. They received their shipment today and would not stock what I was looking for when it was already on the floor. Jan the manager just had excuses why they couldn't help me and said to come back tomorrow. I'm just a customer trying to spend money at this store and employees are making it very difficult. read more

Well I was headed home to Portland from Ashland and realized, Here's my chance to scope out the mecca of craft stores, Hobby Lobby in Albany, great access from I-5. I had been driving for hours so by the time I got there (7:30p) I was Whew, I made it...they close at 8p...and I really, really needed the rest room asap. I found the rest room and there was a big cardboard sign blocking both men and women's restroom that says Do Not Enter. What ??? I'm doing the I-have-to-pee dance and am dumbfounded. So I decide to move the sign and enter anyway... Oh, somebody just cleaned and mopped the bathroom and therefore it was now closed even tho the store was still open another 30 minutes. I tiptoed so as not to dirty the floor -- or slip -- and was feeling a bit rogue as I used the bathroom that had been closed off. Having that accomplished, I began to explore the MASSIVE store quickly realizing that it has just as much home decor, perhaps even more, than art and craft supplies. Im OK with that. I found the sewing dept where a lovely clerk helped me find what I needed, despite the overhead announcements that started promptly at 7:30 and every ten minutes thereafter reminding shoppers they were closing at 8. I get it. I've worked retail. Gotta give shoppers plenty of warning and repeated announcements to check out otherwise the closing crew has to wait it out for the last customer to finally finish. But I am not rushing... I am determined to scout out the store and check out by 7:59. I ooohed and aaahed my way around. Inspirational art galore (not just Christian inspiration, but also positive messages like "Not all who wander are lost"), small furnishings, lamps -- I scored a cute little lamp with an owl base -- floral, scrapbook supplies, fabric, home storage, a huge cross selection, etc ... I realized that just about everything I was browsing was made in China. But its like that at IKEA, too. This is why these stores are affordable. I'm not a very enlightened consumer--by choice--so I am OK with buying made in China products tho the irony of Christian influenced home decor being made in a communist country that still persecutes Christians in our modern age is not lost on me. I enjoyed my scouting 29-minute visit of the store. I was being mindful of time after the ten-minute warning was announced. And then....The lights flickered off and on, like last call at a bar. I made eye contact with another shopper and we said to each other, "What the heck? They are really serious about getting you out the door by 8!" I checked out at 7:59 with my small stash of home kitsch and sewing supplies. Staff were great, very helpful. It was more than obvious that HL wants it's customers out on time and workers clocking out and I get that. If I worked there it would be great knowing that closing time means CLOSING time, no after hours lingering for those not paying attention to store hours. If you plan a shopping excursion, be aware that the bathroom might be officially unavailable way before the store closes, and that closing time IS closing time..oh, and you need to be able to endure the background Christian muzac which oddly enough, I found rather soothing. read more

First time being in a hobby lobby and I was so amazed by the wide variety of craft items! Knocked down a few stars because I asked a lady where something was and instead of us leading us there, she gave us a general idea. If it was a smaller store it would have been okay, but it's huge store and directions get confusing. More so, I was happy for all the sales they had, but pay attention and make sure your cashier is actually giving you the items at sale price! I noticed that she didn't and corrected her, but she only gave me half off on just some of my products... So I had to correct her again. It was an easy fix so I wasn't too upset about it, but I shouldn't have needed to correct her, especially 2x. read more

I love hobby lobby! They always have tons of sales and if it is not on sale then you can always find the coupon for 40% off, online so if you are paying full price then your doing it wrong! I don't really even notice if they are Christian based, they have all kinds of stuff and easily have the largest, most organized collection of arts , crafts and home decor anywhere! Very nice huge store. I liked this store because they actually had employees walking around helping customers unlike their competitors who you are lucky to see an employee at the checkout and that is it. I am not that familiar with pricing of their stuff compared to other similar stores but it seemed like it was probably close. And with the 40% off coupons and such it makes things reasonable. read more

I waited in line for 20 minutes to pay for 4 items that were on a shelf that had a sign that stated home decor 50%off. The young girl at the register said I don't think these are on sale. I said I do think they are on sale, the sign was right in front of them. She said no I don't think they are on sale so they are full price, do you want them? I said no and left the store. What kind of business can charge what they think is right and not even listen to the customer ??? I will find another store to buy my home decor read more

When ordering on line the shipping fee is based on the amount of the purchase and NOT the weight of items. Problem with that is the items are so random in weight. This may work for other companies say a clothing retailer. I order a lot of items on line. This is the WORST CASE OF PRICE GOUGING I have come across regarding shipping. Purchased some small clips. Weight of package was 9 oz. Shipped first class mail. ACTUAL shipping was $2.66. Hobby Lobby shipping charge was $8.95. Called customer service and got a bit of a run around. "We only charge shipping based on order total. WE NEVER CHARGE A HANDLING FEE" I asked the nice girl where the other $6.29 for shipping went. She could not respond with an answer. During a typical shopping trip we were about to leave with nothing, the adult coloring books were all too large, and pricey for what we wanted. A clerk (Jordan) noticed what we were looking for, and showed us another display of books we hadn't seen, and reminded us of the 40% off coupon on the web site/app that I pulled up on my phone...with her help, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. The SE 14th store is wonderful EXCEPT the mean little bearded man in the Framing department. I've 3v3nnjad 2 employees agree. The first time, he butted in a conversation, then got snappy when I ignored him at first. The second time, he answered my question rudely, then walked away without listening to me. It's pretty bad when the cashiers know who I'm talking about. The other employees are great! I enjoy going there, as long as I don't need the Framing department. Thank goodness Hobby Lobby has other stores with a Framing department, with managers are helpful and listen and try to help read more

I am in love with Hobby Lobby! I go to the Albany Hobby Lobby whenever I'm shopping for seasonal décor or non-seasonal décor. And I always find the sweetest gifts here for family/friends. The prices are also quite reasonable. And the staff are so friendly! Usually I shop online (I'm a millennial), but this store is actually fun to shop at in person. read more
