Floor Covering Installers (Tommy) was above and beyond expectations in installing our flooring. We had a major issue with our LVP flooring because it was installed without a moisture barrier on the concrete slab. The floor began lifting within 1 year of us Closing on the house. We contacted Cheap Charlies with our issue. The only solution was to replace the entire 1st level floor. We also have steps leading to a room above our garage (FROG) with the same LVP flooring, however, the sub floor is wood which did not cause the LVP to fail. The Flooring manufacturer of the floor discontinued our exact floor. We and Cheap Charlies tried to match the original floor from another Manufacturer because our furniture, rugs, lamps, and other accessories were complimentary to the flooring (not a neutral color or pattern). We exhausted all options without success. We then decided, with Cheap Charlies help, to choose a neutral color and pattern LVP from the same original manufacturer. That left us with the stairs and FROG not being damaged and different flooring. We had been in the newly built home for less than 1.5 years, so two different floors were not acceptable to us. Cheap Charlies installed the newly chosen floor throughout our home, including the steps and FROG, with no upgrade or additional charge for the new floor. The installation team was courteous, professional, detailed and quick. We became friendly with the Family that owns and runs Cheap Charlies as they are truly good honest people. My wife and I would highly recommend Cheap Charlies for any new or replacement floor.

It was great to have a reliable point person through the entire process. Brentwood called me the day before the installation to confirm, which I appreciated. Installation team showed up the following morning on time. The team consisted of three men- all courteous, experienced, and hard-working. 1650 sq ft of carpet including two staircases, old removed and new installed all in one day. They worked for nearly 12 hours! But I never saw them rush; they took great care in their work. They cleaned up (inside and outside) and vacuumed completely before leaving. I'm so glad we did not go the big box store route. For my wife and me, having Wes as our point person and knowing a high-quality install team would be doing the work were invaluable.

They got the carpet in in record time and juggled their installer's schedule, so the room looked great just in time. A couple of months later one seam began to show. It was only a short seam in an out of the way spot, so we didn't really care, but Carpet One insisted on sending the installer back to redo the seam. Great people to do business with. In fact we were just there today to pick out some tile for a new kitchen backsplash.

The company was great working with us by phone, email, and coming to the house to assess things for the project! After installation and payment, though, communications were slow and things weren't addressed to correct problems. Carpet has unlevel ragged seams, gouges, puckers, and missing padding. Downstairs planks squeak, snap, and sound hollow with ridges and cracks appearing right away and getting worse. Pictures and measurements shared with the manufacturer and Molina (who talked with them) determined that the sub floor is the reason for the floor failure. Manufacturer required guidelines stated on the store contract were not followed. The solution is to pull up the planks, flatten the concrete sub floor, and install new planks. Unfortunately, Molina wouldn't do that. Our 25 year manufacturer wear warranty is voided. We're upset asbestos tiles (tested positive) and vinyl sheet flooring to remain were pulled up - putting our health at risk. After four months of asking for things to be made right, we asked for a refund. A conditional refund offered would let Molina take the defective flooring and have us promise to not speak of our experience (see the CRFA at the FTC site about this). We feel that people should know about our experience. We can't stand walking on the floor and seeing it get worse and worse. We will have to go to a different company to get replacement flooring at our expense. We would not recommend Molina.

Nathalie needs to improve her communication. However, the contractor they used did a great job with the installation. My experience is detailed below: I initially wanted my floors installed the week of June 16th, which was communicated during contract negotiations and agreed upon. After the deposit was paid, I was informed that they had to move us up to the week of June 2nd due to another installation. If we didn't accept that date, we would have had to wait until July. On the day the materials were delivered, we were not informed that they needed to be placed inside the house rather than in the garage, which caused issues due to other circumstances. On installation day, communication between the supplier, Floors Unlimited, and myself was terrible, resulting in an unnecessary argument. Lastly, regarding the final payment, Rebecca stated she would send the aftercare paperwork and invoice by mail. It has been two weeks, and I still have not received them. Receiving mail from a company less than 20 miles away should not take two weeks.

He showed up the same day, got his guys out there three days later. The quality of the installation cannot be overstated. Guys who truly care about the quality of their workmanship. They screwed down my subfloor so it doesn't squeak and they were able to avoid using transition. I have a masonry fireplace and was resigned to having it undercut, but the installers went out of their way to manage it so they didn't have to. My only regret is that I didn't tip his guys MORE. THIS IS THE TEAM YOU WANT TO DO YOUR FLOORS. Prices are great too. But let me tell you, after MONTHS of dealing with other contractors- they'd be worth it at a much higher price.
