Unfortunately, with the rise in popularity of pickle ball, the reduced the number of tennis courts to add pickle ball courts. Now there are only two tennis courts. Pretty much every time I go up there both courts are taken, and I have to wait for one to open up.

There are so many different options of activities to park take in. Some options: Adult workout area, picnic tables, kayak launching area and a wonderful walking trail. If that isn't enough this park also has a few tennis courts, pickle ball courts, basketball courts and volleyball. Including clean restrooms, cover pavilions and cameras in the parking lot. Do not forget the ample parking. If you are local and have yet to visit, I highly recommend doing so!

It's a fun event set up in the gym with all the children who are either performing or cheering for their peers. It was well organized and a very positive experience. They provide recreational ball experiences for children of ages ranging from 3 through 16. They offer baseball and softball. The main entrance is right off Dixie, so it's easy to find. There was plenty of free parking, very close to all the fields and event spaces. The indoor Recreation Center houses a gym and has meeting rooms for various programs. And outside are more than a dozen fields for baseball, softball, and multipurpose ones for soccer or la crosse, et al. Almost forgot the volleyball set up with a sand base and the tennis courts. There's a one-mile exercise path with stations; a large picnic pavilion that groups can rent and a few smaller pavilion's too. For the younger kiddies, there's a playground with swings and two "structures" for different age groups. There is supposed to be a skate park and a roller hockey rink, but we didn't see all of parts of the park . As you enter the park, you can see some construction going on. They are building indoor/outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. They are hoping to open either later this year or in 2027.

Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.
