Our ride was stunning across the fields and trails on the ranch. And they even picked up my dad in the 4-wheeler to feed the cows while we were horse riding so he felt he could be a part of the day (we had purchased feed for the cows ahead). The entire family enjoyed the ride itself, the guides helped us take photos. Next time we would consider staying in the cabins on the ranch. The driveway was dark, but the cabins were well lit and don't lock. We stayed in one of the 4 identical cabins. The accommodations were nice and had a loft upstairs with two twins. It is a steep ladder and great for kids, but not for adults. The decor was western and featured some taxidermy. This scared some of the little kids we knew at the wedding. The bathroom and main bedroom were a decent size and the kitchenette had a mini fridge and coffee machine, along with the living area with a small TV and chairs/small couch. The grounds were beautiful and was a true farm. The pool was great for the kids and the waterfall made it feel fancy. I loved the open greenery and the animals that roamed, along with the ponies and goats that you could get close to. There is a covered pavilion near the pool that was a hang out spot for our crew. The wedding itself was in the grass next to the reception venue, since it was too wet to have it down in the pasture. The reception venue was large and had high ceilings. The food was pretty good and the two outdoor firepit areas right outside became a place for guests to step out as well. Parking is in a grass lot so beware the shoes you where, especially if it has rained recently.

This little inn is perched at the top of a hill just far enough away from town to feel like you are way out in the country, but close enough that you could drive down the road for a midnight taco if you're feeling peckish. The house itself smells of lavender and whatever gourmet delight the owner has cooked up today. It is warmly decorated without being garishly "country," and the room we stayed in (Sage) was very comfortable with it's high ceilings and friendly colors. The shower in our room was spacious, although the shower head was mounted quite low (if I had to pick at nits, this would be my only complaint). The bed was wide and soft (I should caution you about the risk of slipping into a mid-afternoon coma if you lay on it after a big meal). We signed up for the cooking class with Pamela Murski and it was an absolute delight. She is so friendly and fun to be with. The instruction was very low-pressure, as she walked us through the preparation of a 5 course meal, supplying great advice on technique and plenty of interesting stories about the food, the (very fresh!) ingredients, and her experiences. The food was amazing, and for this one day, it was easy to forget about the cares of the big bad world out there and focus on good food and the people you are with. I think that is exactly why we came - and I wish we didn't have to leave.

Pamela is an excellent hostess and she makes sure that you have everything you need. We found this B&B when we were looking for an elopement package. We are having a big wedding next year but wanted to do something just for the two us before then. Pamela ensured everything was taken care of for the ceremony and that our day was special. We didn't have to worry about anything, we got married by the gazebo, drank wine on the porch and ate an outstanding meal prepared by Pamela. Dinner consisted of homemade soup, Sheppard's pie made with lamb, venison and ground pork with twice roasted mashed potatoes on top and for desert we had an apple pie sort of dish with Blue Bell ice cream on top. I was with two other gal pals and we were attending a holiday bash at our friends' family ranch three miles away; we didn't want to drive all the way back to Houston after drinking, so we booked our one-night stay at Night Bird Ranch. It's off the beaten path from the small town of Ledbetter, but that makes for a quiet and private retreat. We booked the Lonesome Dove and Hidalgo rooms; rooms were clean - recently renovated with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and a space heater for those extra chilly nights. We had two rooms with two twin beds - beds were firm. Bedding was comfortable. Soaps and shampoo/conditioner was provided, but it's the kids kind, so if you like your fancy products, pack your own. Kiki and her family live on the 70-acre property; she is a friendly host and we felt welcomed during our stay. Upon arrival, she gave us a tour and even let us assist with feeding the animals the morning we left. She also gave me a cash refund because they had a special discount rate for the night and honored that for me - without me even asking about it. Real hospitality! There's a dance hall/dining hall where Kiki provides wine, coffee, tea and snacks. Our stay included a hot breakfast, and it was fantastic! Fresh biscuits, eggs, sausage gravy, sausage links (and of course, cereal for the kiddies). Onsite there's a lake, acres of exploring, campfire station, and animals: three horses, 2 lambs, and a miniature donkey - and don't forget about Elvis the ranch dog! Love that Kiki and her family are animal lovers. Keep in mind though, outside dogs from guests are not allowed because of the many farm animals. My girlfriends and I fully enjoyed our stay and want to return with a group to have a little ranch life fun. I highly rec this for small groups, retreats, families (kids will love) and even those looking for a space to host an event, like a quaint country wedding or family gathering.

The trip from Austin to Ledbetter was quick, so we called Kiki and got specific directions to our room and even found out about their restaurant, Teague's Tavern in Round Top. After dinner we sat on the porch and listened to the country sounds while Garth sat at our feet. The room was fantastic. Just the right size for us, furnished simply but with care to the details. We left before breakfast, but heated up some of our leftovers from dinner, in the dining hall, to eat on the road. We loved our stay at Night Bird Ranch and plan to come back again, to get away from it all.

The neighboring rooster was crowing early but otherwise it was a quiet stay. Each of the four units has its own outdoor space which is a prime area to stargaze at night. Communication was clear and informative leading up to the stay. The property is a short two minute drive to the main Round Top spots so it's very convenient. Recommend checking it out for a lovely stay!

The Boho Cottage looked exactly as pictured online: it was absolutely GORGEOUS and very clean and spacious. The interior was decorated with care and all of the pieces chosen are elegant and beautiful. Paige and Smoot, the owners, were also incredibly helpful and accommodating; they helped us arrange a special champagne toast welcome and made sure every detail was accounted for. Boho is minutes away from Henkel Square and tons of shopping spots. We really enjoyed our two night stay and I highly recommend The Vintage Round Top for a family getaway or your next girls' trip!

Growing up in the country, parks were pretty much the only place that you could go to without…read morepacking a bag and going to the city to take your kids to the zoo, amusement park, etc. Henderson Park, however, holds a special place in my heart because of the family reunions that used to be held here. May was our month to come together and celebrate family and food (lots of food) and get reacquainted. Unfortunately, for years, Henderson Park didn't receive the maintenance needed to make it plausible to continue having reunions here anymore, but I was shocked to see the upgrades to Henderson on a recent visit to Brenham. Lots of tlc has been poured into this park to revitalize it. In fact, I didn't even know how much history was apart of the park until I read the newly installed landmark signage that designates Henderson as a Lone Star Legacy Park, the highest honor that a park can receive according to the Texas Recreational and Parks Society. The designation was received in 2022, but the park is actually older than Fireman's Park across the street, which received the Lone Star Legacy Park honor in 2014. I'm just glad that this historical landmark has been restored and rejuvenated with a new venue with AC, which is a great update because my family use to place screens on the windows and run fans when we used Henderson back in the day. You'll also enjoy a bbq pit on the premises as well as a covered partition with picnic style benches as well as playgrounds, basketball courts and a baseball field which has a extraordinary place in history because Henderson (which was the park designated for African Americans during segregation) gave the Negro Leagues (and that is what they were called, so I am not going to change history here) a place and space to play. I am so glad that the baseball park remains a vital part of the park as well as the addition of a waterpark around the entryway to Henderson. Spacious and attractive, a day at Henderson provides some relaxation, relief, and literally a breath of fresh air if you visit. I'm excited to bring the family back together post covid to relaunch our reunions at Henderson in the near future, but I give pause and recognize how great it is that history still holds a special place in people's hearts and minds. Henderson Park will forever be a part of history. Let us not only celebrate it but cherish its presence and preservation to keep history alive in our community.

The intimate, charming setting highlighted the beautiful architecture of this amazing 3-4 story building renovated by a very gifted family that has taken great pride to preserve the beautiful venue! The two buildings work together to seamlessly move guest from the wedding to the reception! It was outstanding! I hope that someday I'll have an opportunity to host my guest in this amazing center located in our beautiful downtown Navasota!
