Takes two hours or more to get hold of them again and they do the same again. Get the boss's number, he promises to sort it and call you back but doesn't and turns off his phone, eventually calls you back only because you've tried ringing him from a different number and he sees he's missed a call. He says they'll keep your papers and deliver them tomorrow, you say that's not good enough and he hangs up. You get through to him again and he says he won't listen to your nonsense, take your business elsewhere and he hangs up again. Don't give them your custom.

They have sandwiches and wraps (I actually got something that had duck meat), as well as the usual crisps, beverages, magazines, and books. They also have the expected tourist tchotchkes and souvenirs. Checking out was kind of weird. You can either wait in line, or by the time you get to the cashier, he/she will tell you that you could have gone to the self-serve machines beyond the cashier.

The Staines branch of WH Smith is quite large and is over two floors. However, the majority of the store is at ground level and includes newspapers and magazines, cards, books, stationery, craft materials and so on. There is a huge choice of goods, but for books I would usually go to Waterstones just down the road. WH Smith rarely seems to stock what I'm looking for and the copies on the shelves are all-to-often already damaged. There is a good range of cards, stationery and craft materials, but the queue to pay can often be very long - I often give up and just don't buy things rather than have to wait. The main Staines Post Office relocated into this WH Smith a few months ago and it hasn't been a huge success. Having to find room for the Post Office meant that quite a lot of display space had to go so there's now less choice. The Post Office queues are also often long so that they get in the way of any one shopping. WH Smith staff are generally ok and they're usually reasonably helpful in this branch (but it depends who you get).

Only go in this branch if you enjoy being accosted by chuggers every time you open the door.
