Had a great time at Hmong Village! We got the hmong sausage and sticky rice from Grace Diner, steam rolls from Lucky Food Express, and thri-color drinks from Mai's Papaya. It was all delicious but my favorite was the hmong sausage sticky rice. Sausage was seasoned well and loved the texture of the rice. Our meal was around $22 total--great value. In general, Hmong Village has a lot of vendors selling traditional clothing, home goods, traditional medicine, and fun trinkets. There's also a grocery/mart. There are a bunch of food stalls to choose from with plenty of seating. Highly recommend!

This was the first place we ended up to. Didn't realize there's a marketplace and there's a village. The village seems to be geared for locals more as it is smaller and a lot more local items. Restaurants are not as vast as the marketplace but we enjoyed the foods here too. We definitely enjoyed buying fruits and trying out new veggies. We got sticky corn, rambutan, mangoes, guavas and rice cakes. The value is definitely worth it. Food prices are reasonable and the people are friendly and welcoming. Parking is also abundant so you won't have to circle around to find parking. Definitely a must when visiting the area!

Okay WOW. I'm in love with this place and already planning my next visit. It's hands-down one of the best bang-for-your-buck spots in the Twin Cities for authentic Asian food. The building itself? Kinda tricky to find. There's no big sign that says "Hmong Village"--I followed the signs for the DMV and just trusted the crowd heading into a giant, plain warehouse. But once you're inside, it's like stepping into a bustling Southeast Asian marketplace. So many food vendors, clothing stalls, jewelry, and more. It's lively, local, and full of flavor. My Favs: -Vietnamese Coffee Bubble Tea - $4 Rich, sweet, and caffeinated heaven. And way cheaper than the $7+ versions elsewhere. -Enormous Fried Chicken Drumstick - $2 Massive, crispy, and juicy. Straight-up comfort food. -Pork & Shrimp Spring Rolls - 3 for $6 Super fresh, perfectly rolled, and dunkable. -Stuffed Chicken Wings - 3 for $10 Crispy skin, flavorful filling--these alone are worth the trip. Pro Tips: Bring cash--some vendors are cash only or charge extra for card. Give yourself time--there's a lot to explore, especially if it's your first time. Come hungry and bring friends to share --you'll want to try a little of everything. Service is hit or miss. Language barriers may exist, but everyone I met was very friendly. If you love authentic, affordable, no-frills eats packed with flavor, Hmong Village is a must. Total hidden gem. Can I give this place ten stars?

Indoor bazaar selling cultural clothing, beauty products, and of course food! Get fresh fruit and veggies as well as prepared food. We had the Hmong sausage with purple rice, and a pho. My impression is Hmong food is not quite as tasty and flavorful as the Vietnamese versions. Still, great place to come and check out and get some tasty food from the hawkers as well as the dessert drinks.

It's a really big warehouse with dozens an dozens of food and shopping stalls. Sadly, it looks like most of them sell the same-ish thing though. It can still be a fun time but I wouldn't go too far out of my way for this. Some of the food options can be good though so I'd recommend a noodle soup at one of the stalls in the first corner. Also, it can get really crowded inside during some of the rushes so be prepared to fight for tables. Parking was super easy though.

What a cute little Hmong food hall and market. We don't know many Hmongs, but we know the food is similar to Southeast Asia. My friend is Thai and I'm Vietnamese visiting Minneapolis and wanted to check this village out for some good Asian food. Glad we did! When you enter the market, it's like something you'll see in Thailand or Vietnam, it's just a bunch of clothes and merchandise. Then you reach the produce/grocery area. They have tropical fruits and veggies that you can't find in an American grocery store. We got some pre sliced mangos with spicy salt, jackfruit and longan. After this you'll reach the food stalls. There were about or a little over 15 ish. I went to Mai's Papaya to get their Hmong style papaya salad. It was good, definitely a little different from Thai style. I got medium spicy and it had an excellent spice to it. Eating too much made it even hotter. I love it. I also got the boat noodles from there, it was good. I didn't know which stall my friend went to but she got us Hmong sausage, Thai sausage and Lao sausage, along with the pho and crispy pork belly salad. For drinks we got Thai tea and Naab Vaam. Both were super sweet which helped with the salty and spicy food. I liked the Hmong sausage, it's a must! So much flavor. The pho was sad, probably best to go to an actual Vietnamese place, the boat noodles were better. And the pork belly was delicious. We were super full and took some back and ate the next day. So good. I think most vendors were cash only! So bring plenty of cash. They do have one set of bathroom on the back, one toilet overflowed with poop coming out but they cleaned it within 30 minutes. Good visit to Hmong village for some Asian food!

Probably about 20 different food stands, all with just about the same menu. Thai,Lao and Hmong sausage run $4-5 ea. Stirfry dishes will run anywhere from $12-$16 per plate. Many of the stalls and dry good stands closed early, well before the market shut down. It was a bit disappointing traveling all that way to visit a half closed market. Several produce options, with friendly vendors. Parking was not an issue, plenty of spaces available when we got there just passed lunchtime. Note that when you order sticky rice you are likely getting the purple rice, so if that is not what you are expecting make sure you ask first. Portions were plenty big but we were pretty disappointed with the food from both food stalls we purchased from. It was nice to check this out, but not sure I would make a return visit, I would rather visit one of the temples hosting food on the weekends or continue my search for satisfying Asian cuisine.

This's our first time coming to Hmong Village. It's like a big warehouse mall with multiple stalls / food vendors, produce inside. You can get from jewelries, toys, medicine, traditional Hmong outfits, fresh veggies, cooked food, and such. Most of the food vendors are cash only, some do take cards!!! Prices are very reasonable. You can get a bowl of pho for like $12. They have different prepackaged food as well. There's also skewers, Hmong sausage, beef ribs, pork ribs, you name it. Theres some tables available, but it does get busy on the weekends! You can order from the counter and they will bring it to you to the table (the wall has the table number). They also have different dessert items and boba tea available as well. It's just a fun place to go and try out some authentic Hmong cuisine! There's plenty of parking available, definitely go check it out next time when you're visiting Minnesota!!

Neat place to check out & buy fresh produce & hmong delicacies. There are lots of booths where vendors are selling traditional hmong clothes & cultural hats & outfits. The food area sells similar menu items consisting of fried pork belly, fried chicken wings, fried quail, fried fish, purple sticky river, papaya salad, mango salad & Pho noodle soups. Prices are all similar, plus or minus a dollar. We tried food from various vendors, mango salad, papaya salad, fried chicken, crazy steak, pork belly with Chinese broccoli, hmong sausage, mustard green & purple sticky rice. Service is quick but we had a language barrier so trying to ask a question made it difficult.

I think I had Hmong Village on my must visit list for a long time. It was reminiscent of what a market looked like in Asia with food stalls and individual stalls selling everything. There is also a produce area with almost every vendor selling jack fruit. Something I've never had fresh before. And after walking thru a few times it was inevitable that I selected a jack fruit as a dessert. We went to the Homing village primarily for dinner. It was a bit later in day on a Saturday and seemed to be slowing around 6pm. I think most of the market closed around 7pm. Figuring where to order from was kind of an adventure. I wanted to get what was best from each stall, but only so much stomach space. So I walked by a few of the tables where folks were eating and I just ordered what I thought good. I think most places had the same stuff. Definitely think I over-ordered. For one, the rice was a medium...didn't think it would be an entire box worth of rice! It was very yummy, chewy and was a good side. The roast pork I was craving and it delighted my senses, especially liked the vinegary sauce it came with to break up the richness of the fat. Papaya salad was a huge portion. Noodles were in a light broth. I thought all dishes were decent price to portion ratio. Definitely shareable. Could have gone with one fewer dish to avoid stuffing myself. But hey, it was middle of winter, need some extra comfort!

No idea why I haven't reviewed this spot yet! My wife and I come here almost weekly for papaya salad, purple rice and crispy pork. I love coming here for the food the people and the vibe. If you have not been here and you enjoy or are curious about Asian/Hmong culture this is a must see! Try some food, do some shopping and expand your cultural horizons!

I work with a Hmong gentleman in Kansas City and he advised that I should stop here on my trip to the Twin Cities. It was a great recommendation! This large indoor mall is part flea market, farmers market, stalls with professional services, jewelry stores, pharmacy, clothing and best of all, 20 kitchens serving all the best Hmong delicacies. After wandering around looking at all the options, my wife and I split up and ordered from 2 different kitchens. I ordered and watched a spicy Papaya Salad being made right in front of me and she brought back an egg roll, chicken drumstick, pork skewer and Hmong sausages. It was a feast that stuffed us for abou $22. The sausage and Papaya Salad were best in class and I'm wishing that I had some more right now. My wife bought a beautiful top and scarf that she wore to the concert that we were in town for that evening. The fresh produce stalls are worth a trip in itself just to see the myriad of exotic and colorful fruits, veggies and flowers.

I was excited to explore. It made me feel like I was back in asia with all these store tightly packed. The place is much larger than I was expecting. The food was tasty. The boba was not that great but it was cheap. However, it really becomes a maze because many of the shops sell the same things. Same with the restaurants. The prices are mostly the same and the options are also 80% the same. Even the produce stands have the exact same produce bundled up the exact same way. A lot of the food is cash only but the pricing already includes tax so loose change. It's an interesting place to explore.

The decline of shopping malls in general along with world news such as Claire's going bankrupt (as of August 2025 this location has 75% off for closing reasons), the downfall of the economy and inflation have all contributed to the current makeup here. I believe the Maplewood Mall is making space for entrepreneurs to take over varying shops as I did spot a nice handful. Contrary, the mall's buzz is dead and not as lively as I remember. Some things I do appreciate presently are the preservation of the carousel in the main space (it's gorgeous), Cinnabon is going strong and roughly 2-4 large spaces for kids to play. I am all about indoor spaces considering MN is a tough state to live in during the winter. Additionally, I adore the pockets of culture here from Pan Asian Center to smaller shops selling handmade goodies and the neat concept of the cotton candy cloud bar (how fun!). Overall, coming here to get steps in or explore won't leave you with stealing all your money. I'm glad the space is still getting used. Enjoy!!

A lot of the cart booths scattered throughout the mall sell replicas but they can be quite fun for designs and honestly a great place for any one who doesn't know the difference (for parents who are shopping for kids). For the authentic stuff there's the pan Asia center which has a whole section to pick from close to the mall entrance as well as a vendor at one of the repurposed jewelry cases who will let you swap. Another shop for authentics would be at Little Diva Hidden treasure which I've noticed, at least the last time I visited, has cheaper options. Besides this the mall also has a bargain bin store, a make your own teddy bear store (not that different from build a bear), a K-pop store, and several others. In the center atrium there are also usually some bounce houses that I always see kids enjoying. I think the point in coming here is to not expect a typical mall experience. If you do, you'll be met with disappointment. This mall has a place and is one to come to if you're looking for unique items you can't find easily elsewhere.
