Dr Gomez is the kindest, most empathetic psychiatrist I have ever been too. He is very knowledgeable and listens.

I'm still processing my experience yesterday with a sense of unease and the realization that Dr…read more Beatty's outward care and concern may not reflect her true intentions. I used to be a patient of Dr. Beatty, but due to a lapse in insurance coverage from 2019, I couldn't see her for almost four years. Upon regaining insurance, I eagerly reached out to schedule an appointment. Although the first available slot was two months away, I patiently waited. The day prior to my appointment, I received the customary forms to fill out - covering my medical history, insurance details, and more. I promptly completed and returned these forms. On the appointment day, I used the check-in kiosk at the front desk before being led to the back by Dr. Beatty. I opened up about my personal struggles, updated her on my life, and discussed my mental health challenges vulnerably & candidly. 40 minutes into our 60 minute session, she inquired about how I managed to obtain insurance given my work situation. I disclosed that I had regained Medicaid, the same insurance I previously had. Her reaction was astonishment, followed by her statement that they no longer accepted Medicaid as of June. I was then immediately informed that I would be billed for the appointment. This left me feeling embarrassed, overwhelmed, frustrated, and quite angry for several reasons: Firstly, her level of concern for the 40 minutes prior to finding out about the insurance mishap now seemed to have been performative and insincere as her initial focus was on money once she learned about my Medicaid status. [I am aware that she runs a business and does expect to be paid, obviously, however, because she runs a psychiatry and mental health business, I would have expected a better first response] Secondly, despite waiting almost two months and providing my insurance information, the administration failed to notice the discrepancy. Thirdly, the entire encounter felt like a wasted effort. Lastly, I shared my personal information for no reason. After the initial shock, Dr. Beatty did clarify that she isn't involved in insurance matters (Admin is at fault) and was unaware until I mentioned it. However, her initial response left a bitter taste in my mouth. After leaving and reflecting on the situation, It came across as classist, embarrassing, and insincere and grossly unprofessional. For those with Medicaid, beware - Resilience Health DOES NOT ACCEPT YOU. And for those whose insurance is accepted by Resilience Health, be wary that Dr. Beatty's level of care and compassion is (in my opinion) contingent on your coverage and their administration processes is severely flawed. I must acknowledge that she seems amiable, but I can't help but question the authenticity of the entire experience for any potential or current patient of hers. It raises doubts about whether she genuinely cared about my situation or merely a performative act solely for a cleared insurance check. TO NOTE: By the end of our conversation, She did not end up charging me. I would not have paid because the fault did not lie on me. It was the fault of her poorly trained & unprofessional administrative team.

A mental health facility that offers more stress than guidance. If I could give zero stars to this…read morefacility, I would. The staff is extremely rude and the office policies are ridiculous, they offer no sympathy towards their patients needs. I called about rescheduling my appointment because I was in the process of switching jobs and did not have insurance at the time of my appointment. I could not afford to pay the $300 self-pay rate. Not only was I informed that I will no longer be able to reschedule the appointment for a year, I was also informed that I will be charged a $200 missed appointment fee- because I called 21 Hours before the appointment. Which, breaks the Cancellation Policy. I called two additional times pleading with them to please make an exception to the policy as I wanted to reschedule and be seen as soon as I had insurance again. They were totally unsympathetic, even during a pandemic, when I had no choice but to cancel.
