I figured it was native to Texas, and I wanted a bit of shade in the backyard. It grew like a weed, and in three years it was giving us shade. In six years, it was over the roof, giving us shade, dropping leaves and twigs regularly, and we had to duck under its branches to mow the yard! I thought it might be a weeping willow, and I kinda fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I was the only one weeping, as the white willow's roots made a move on my house's foundation, and plumbing! Sorry Will, but ya gotta go! I searched Yelp, found several tree services that were local, and sent a short list to the husband. He called the one I put last on the list--skipping my top choices. He made the call, and Big Gorilla's owner showed up to give us an estimate. BGTS was $1,000 lower than a spitball quote we got from our roofer. I hate making decisions like this, and thought about getting more estimates....but I'm a procrastinator at heart, and I was impressed with BGTS's competent attitude. I decided to just get it done. The team of four--I think--came out the next day, blocking my driveway, (I didn't love that, but there's not much room on our street,) putting up cones to block their trucks, and got to work. By lunch, the tree was gone, the stump was ground six inches below the ground, and the roots threatening my house were dug up and destroyed. They had even gathered up all the sticks around the tree, and removed the debris as well. They left a small mound of woodchips to cover the hole left behind. My husband watched them on our home cameras, and he said they had pulled out monstrous roots, snaking through the yard. It's kind of sad to see the tree gone. It's even sadder to see the money gone to remove it. Not gonna lie, I thought about buying a chainsaw and sending hubs, and son-in-law out for a much cheaper DIY. But arms and fingers don't grow back, and even if they could take it down, the stump would remain without buying the heavy equipment. BGTS did exactly what I needed. They were on time, professional, efficient, didn't damage my plumbing, or the sprinkler system, cleaned up after themselves, and took a credit card payment at the door. They will now be first on my list I'm shopping for fruit trees now!

They did an outstanding job. I don't have enough words to explain how good this crew is. This 5,000 sq ft of sod. I have 35,000 sq ft of back yard and hired Evergreen Lawn and Land scape. They have installed 20,000 sq ft so far. I will be hiring them for the next 5,000sq ft. This is a great landscape company and they have great employees.

The results are two of the most uniquely designed & implemented yards in all of DFW. The backyard is completely native southwestern landscaping with rock, cactus and agaves imported from all over Texas, Arizona, and California. In contrast the front is classic southern with original elements picked up in New Orleans and Savannah. In the end the pictures, which I have posted here, speak for themselves. If you are looking for someone to develop and implement a totally unique high end design Paul is your best option in North Texas hands down. His design acumen puts him in a category all his own in North Texas and on par with the best native landscape architects from across the country including places such as Palm Springs, CA and Austin, TX.

Paul and his team removed about 240 sq ft of grass and dirt and replaced with base of decomposed granite and river rock. Both finished projects look great.

However, following The Great Texas Freeze of 2021, several scorcher summers, and the the removal of several big tree in the last two years, our front yard appeared to a be a post-apocalyptic waste land, a neighborhood eyesore, and far beyond our ability to update and repair ourselves. My wife and I had many ideas but we're not able to transfer our ideas for our yard that would fully meet the look, along with the low environmental impact and minimal maintenance requirements we wanted. In addition to the cosmetic appeal, there were extensive needs for hardscape repair, a redesign and installation for our sprinkler system, and to tackle drainage issues. We were afraid we would need to coordinate efforts and schedules for several different companies to meet this wide variety of needs. However, Grow It Land Designs had the expertise and skill set to provide a one-stop solution and resources to execute this plan to address all of our needs in a manner that wildly exceeded all of our expectations . He changed the spray pattern on 1 or 2 other heads to optimize watering in a problem section. He noticed that I was running a zone to an empty garden bed and recommended that I turn that zone off.
