Today I walked in the shop asking for them to cut 4 inches from my hair and long layers. In addition i wanted the ombré which is something I get each time I go there. Dark to blonde ends. I walked out today with almost 8 inches cut and rust color hair and in tears with almost zero confidence. The problem isn't just that I was clearly unhappy and on the verge of tears, I was told I could buy the silver shampoo they have that will make my ends lighter. No offer to fix or anything which is a shame because the girl was really nice but I had someone else do the cut and I am just as unhappy with that. I will give 3 stars because I used to be happy with the place but I will find someone new next time.

After trying two other smaller, non-chain salons here in Haarlem, I was slightly disappointed in their work and decided to go to the big chain. Rob Peetom is that big chain salon. My first visit to the Grote Markt location was pleasant and well-organized with a colorist (Sieta) and a stylist (Sanne), and was not overpriced (€120 for highlights, cut and style). I liked both girls and felt that the salon did everything it could to be a quick, easy resource. They sell all of the Redken and Pureology lines, and have makeup and other services available as well. If they only had facial and massage services, I would be happy to go nowhere else. :)

My hair is curly and gets frizzy at times, which makes it very difficult to estimate how much to cut. Most hairdressers either slip up or just don't know what to do with my hair, but not here! This was my second visit. The first time I got cut by Maud, now by Kareen. Both times, very satisfied with their work!! Also, they are not ridiculously expensive (between 30-40 euros) like at Toni & Guy or Cosmo. I think I have found my go-to hairdresser :-)

Unfortunately for me, they closed this location at the end of March and created two new locations: one further more north in Haarlem (at the Marsmanplein) and one next to the central station. While the previous location was walking distance for me, now I will have to bike a bit further. The price is 14 euros for getting your hair cut, which includes the washing if needed. Note that you cannot make appointments, you will just have to walk by and see if the line is short enough for you :)
