I can choose either location depending on my schedule. My review is for both locations. I have had poor vision most of my life and dry eyes for the last decade or so. Outside of one eye doctor I saw in another State (Dr. Fitzgerald at Advanced Vision Care) I have had really bad experiences with eye and vision care. Most places offer long wait times, care that seems rushed, very traditional only methods of treatment that land at you missing out on key ways to improve your eye health (like taking vegan Omega 3 EPA and DHA to help with dry eyes) and doctors who are not on top of all of the new options out there for their patients. Dr. Lazar is none of those things. She is always on time and never rushes. She always offers new ideas on treatments like Omega 3 that has made a massive difference in my eye and skin health. Dr. Lazar is beyond skilled in eye care and is also very lovely. Without question she is my partner in my eye and vision care. Recently I bought lenses at the Darien location and worked with Suzy Ademoski. She too was just lovely. I walked out with lenses that were much thinner that my old ones and even block out much more of the sun while still being clear glass. I can actually drive with them in the Summer and not need sunglasses. Susy also offered me every discount that she could to make the purchase easier on my wallet. This summer we were visiting…read morefamily in New Canaan when my left eye, that I was wearing contacts in, started stinging and burning. I called New Canaan Eye Associates and even though it was 3:30pm, they said it sounded urgent and fit me in right away. Dr. Crolla and his team were incredible. They got me in and Dr. Crolla performed an eye exam. At each step he explained what he was doing. I left with eye drops and a prescription for watchfully waiting. The next morning, I work up and my eye was stinging and painful. Dr. Crolla's office got me in right away again. He looked at it and immediately said that I needed to be referred out to an opthamologist because it might be an issue with my cornea. He referred me to Dr. Orren in Norwalk. Dr. Orren's office then got me in and within two hours, my eyes had been examined thoroughly and there was a diagnosis: shingles in my left eye. Dr. Orren prescribed me medication, which I took. Within a day the pain was gone. It was a great thing that Dr. Crolla referred me and Dr. Orren caught this - shingles can have lasting impacts on vision. Dr. Crolla saved my vision in my left eye and did it by seeing me right away and knowing when to refer me. Thank you Dr. Crolla and New Canaan Eye Associates!

Poor communication. Ordered new lenses, told to text to pick them up, texted on Tuesday, tried to…read morepick up on Wednesday. On Thursday, they finally got back to me, let me know they were closed on Wednesday. The next time I had a break in my schedule on Friday, texted at 9:30, suggested 12:30 to pick up new lenses, at 11:30 they texted me 12:30 was taken, how about 1:30. Tried calling no answer. I texted back at 11:45 and said OK for 1:30. They responded that they gave that time to someone else. When I finally got an answer they said to just come by and knock on door. When I did knock, the woman signaled to me that I should call-they would not come to the door. When I finally talked to the Father, (it really is "Family" ) he said he was sorry I was upset, but never apologized for poor service. His son gave me the exam, the Mom checked the son's work, and the Father fitted the frames. I was happy until they kept letting the phone go to voice mail, and started with the texting.
