People that give Ollie's a bad review don't understand what Ollie's is about. Ollie's buy up products that other stores and warehouses can't move. They heavily discount the items at great prices. The store does seem to be disorganized most of the time but when you go in there you never know what they are going to have. I blame a lot of the disorganization on the customers. People just move things around and don't have the courtesy to put things back. The biggest lack of respect is the parents that let their kids go wild in the toy isle. They just let them go like it's their personal playground while they go shopping. When they're done they grab the kids and leave toys all over the isle. People, control your kids! This is a place of business, not your personal playground. The best thing I like at Ollie's is the book section. It's awesome to get books that are $29.00 for $1.99. Ollie's has just about anything you need. Housewares, linens, personal hygiene products, tools, toys, food items, and more. Check it out when in the area. You'll be glad you did.

They have several aisles of books marked down to almost thrift prices. The food section is also pretty good. You can find a lot of snacks and other foods you don't really see anywhere else.

Yellow Springs Toy Company is a chock-filled shop that seems to sell every toy ever invented. The…read moreage range of items is from newborns to seniors. There are bath toys, books, and blocks. There are plushy, puzzles, and puppets. You get the idea. And to top it off, there's a very friendly lady there to help sort it all out for you. The only drawback to the store is that the building is old and not ADA compliant. The entry is via very steep stairs and no landing. It's kind of scary and I'm glad there are handrails. For those with mobility issues, don't worry, as there is in-store pick up, local delivery, and US shipping.

I'm a sucker for a toy store that sports creative and educational toys. Nine times out of ten I walk out with a purchase either for myself or the kiddos in my life. This visit was no exception. We ended up purchasing these fun stickers that convert a cardboard box into a car (they also had versions that create a mini play kitchen - how fun?!). The shop was filled with educational items - engineering, arts/creative, invention toolkits, art history, etc. They also have a small section in the front with quirky items like a mustached baby pacifier. My only reason for holding back on the fifth star was that some of the tchotchke style items seemed overpriced to a point that I couldn't justify spending more for local - for example $17 sunglasses for kiddos.
