Another incredible find, on my day trip to Chillicothe! A store front mixed into the downtown…read moreshops. Lots of space to move around. Cleaning organized fabrics. Walk toward the back corner, you'll see a hodgepodge of clearance cloth. There are finished quilts hanging all around. My eye caught the design of a turquoise/purple/yellow print quilt. If the people here weren't so darn polite and friendly, I would have grabbed that lap-covering and run. So, I decided on the next best think: chat with the lady that works their, and see if she has a kit. Bummer - no kits left. The lady and I talked for a good fifteen minutes. We were able to iron out all the kinks. She offered to make me a kit (she cuts all the fabric!!) using all the original fabrics. If she happens to come short on a print? She'll substitute another print from that line that looks just as good. I was thrilled! For just over $80, I got an awesome quilt kit. The pattern, prints, and colors are just my style! I'm excited to return and pick it up, in a few weeks!

One of the local celebrities (Mike Todd) I follow on Twitter was sent a mask early on in COVID that was made by The Fabric Shop. It was an awesome Ohio University mask. I reached out to the shop by telephone and they were willing to charge me over the phone and ship me a mask. The customer service was phenomenal. The mask arrived quickly and they did not gouge me on pricing for either the mask or the shipping. It was extremely reasonable. During this entire pandemic the only mask I used was my awesome Bobcat mask until I lost it last week. I quickly called up The Fabric Shop and they of course gave me the same service as before. The employee let me know that they use whatever OU fabric they have on hand so the pattern of the mask may be different. I told her it did not bother me at all as long as it was still an Ohio University mask. And for this order I went ahead an ordered two just in case I carelessly lose one again. Though I did hold on to the first one for 9 months straight. Pretty good I think. My masks just arrived yesterday and I love the fabric even more. As oppose to white before, this time the main color is green with the Attack Cat. They are perfect. Such a great fit for my face. Had lots of samples for quilts, needlework and other types of projects. Fabrics are displayed so you can easily see what they have. All the latest lines! You can park on the street (out front) and enter through the front door. Or, there is parking around rear, and a back door that also gets you in. Great, locally owned, shop! Considering the online world has snatched up so much business throughout the decades, this place had a good selection of fabrics to pick from. An entire wall was covered in pattern books. I came across two jelly roll patterns and snatched 'em up. The ladies that were here today, a few workers and many here to work on their projects, all were full of smiles and bubbly personalities! Best kind, when you want to ask an opinion or have a sewing question. Terrific home-grown establishment!

When there in November, 2011, we were happily surprised to find many consigned items for very reasonable prices. The variety of antiques covered everything from delicate china to primitive cupboards, from vintage (20+ yrs old) to ancient. I'm not much into actual crafting so can't comment fairly on that section of the mall but do recommend a visit if you'd like to see some great 'old' stuff :)
