9 miles of windy road will take you the the campgrounds. If you're unlucky, you may land behind a slowpoke. Because turnouts are sloped and unpaved, slowpokes may not yield.
The good:
Reserved sites clearly marked with a placard. Plentiful water stations, recycle bins, and trash bins in both directions of our site. Bear box, picnic table and small paved patio at each site. Bathrooms are cleaned daily. Fairly quiet during the day, as most folks leave for day activities and return to rest and recuperate.
The bad:
No camp host on site. We were plagued by rowdy, drunken, over-numbered neighbors for two nights, and there was no one to regulate and resolve the issue. (Note: Group campsites for larger parties are supposed to be at the other end of the campgrounds). No electricity/lights at night, and no ventilation, so it's a hot and sweaty experience to use the bathroom. No showers available.
It's hot as Hades out here in the summertime, which means you can sleep without tent covers and see all the stars in the night sky. Just beware the insects, as they are fearless in trying to get a bite. read more
