    Sushi boat

Team dinner is always better when it's sushi! This was my first time getting a sushi boat and the experience was perfect - highly recommend going with a group just for the presentation. The quality of the sushi is great and their rolls are pretty similar to some other places as well. I have found some more creative rolls at other places, but I think Hiro has some of the best happy hour deals at this point. The staff is always helpful and gives us more info on the rolls if we need it. Overall, great spot for many different occasions - extra points because they have some non-sushi options in case anyone in your group isn't the biggest fan!

It was a Saturday night and very crowded. We were promptly seated and tended too. I was craving japanese cuisine. And so hubby bought us here The ambiance is almost like it's a pretty upscale place. Pretty cool. Lots of people just hanging out and vibing. I ordered agedeshi tofu and hubby ordered shrimp tempura for starters. Food was hot and fresh. Tempura batter was good. But the sauce for the tempura and agedeshu were a little bland. Usually agedeshi tofu is cubed in smaller pieces and flash fried and the sauce would have a little more umami. I had to add soy to it to have a little flavour. Shrimp tempura was really not shrimp tempura- since there was more vegetable tempura than shrimp . I would recommend renaming it to mixed tempura. Again the sauce was not as flavourful as it ought to have been. Hubby ordered the imperial chicken asking for it to be extra spicy- this they did exceedingly well. He enjoyed his dinner very much. I ordered two rolls - hiro88 and the unagi roll. I was a little disappointed and confused. The unagi roll ended up pretty much very similar to the hiro88 roll except it had unagi on top. They look similar and taste similar. My unagi roll had a shrimp tail as garnish and that confused me further. I would probably come bsck here for the Chinese food. Not for the Japanese food. Just a little disappointed but I want to commend them on their service. It will probably be awhile before I come back for food.

The restaurant looks great, it's very big and has lots of seating. The sushi was not good, miso soup was bad & our server was awkward. If I come back here it's only for the restaurants atmosphere and I would probably order noodles or something from the grill.

Want to know how to frustrate customers? Take too many orders on Mother's Day and run 90 minutes behind. . Went to pickup food supposed to be ready at 6. There were at least 30 people out front. And a line of 20 people inside just to check in to tell them you were there to pick up food. HOT MESS. No idea when food will be ready. Ugh.

If you read past reviews for this location (southeast Lincoln) for Hiro 88, it is a coin flip to determine what kind of service you will receive. We were seated quickly and the order was taken within a few minutes. During the lunch hour, it seemed the wait was longer than expected. My 2 piece Bento box consisting of salmon teriyaki, salad, and California roll arrived with the salmon being slightly overcooked. That was the only complaint about the food. Service was fine for the most part. Overall, a decent experience for a lunch meal before the Nebraska Cornhusker game against Northwestern University.

One of our favorite places for sushi! It's fresh, and there are lots of options there for those that don't like sushi as well. It's easy to make a reservation online as well. Sometimes the parking can be a little chaotic though.

Online ordering sucks. Does not tell you when you order willbe ready. Much better places to eat.

Nice and clean restaurants with a couple of tables for eating there They deliver your food in containers so that if you can't finish- u just cover it and bring it home We ordered spring rolls, hot and sour soup and kungpao chicken for the hubby and for me - bbq pork rice noodles. Food was hot and fresh. Spring rolls were perfect. Hot and sour soup - wasn't great for me - tasted more like well-seasoned soy soup with a little pepper with a smackeribg of ingredients. It still was tasty- just now what I expect of hot and sour soup. My bbq meifun was fresh and tasty - just a tad oily for me. I've had better at some other establishments. We did bring the left overs home. And it heats up good. Kungpao chicken and the meifun both reheated pretty well. It will be one of those in the chinese rotations for us- and i will probably try something else

Happy we made the trip up north.

I ordered black pepper chicken but asked if I could substitute beef for the chicken. She said no but you can have sizzling tofu and substitute beef. She explained that would be black pepper beef and that it's the same. It arrived and was a completely different dish than the black pepper chicken. She asked me how it was and I said this was not what I expected. She said it's the sizzling tofu only with beef. I said I ordered black pepper chicken only with beef. She said no we don't do that. So I said you can substitute tofu for beef but not chicken for beef? Yes, she said not for black pepper chicken. The logic was mind-boggling. I recommend ordering from the menu and don't ask for substitutions.

They dont have all drinks on the menu and the menu is not updated. They did tell us what was not available but was a generic dont have these and just slid his fingers on the menu. I finally got an iced lemon tea. We initially ordered egg rolls and a hot pot. We ordered spicy soup together with bok choy fungus( wood ear mushrooms) Beef, spam, fishballs and jumbo shrimp and egg noodles with a side of white rice. The soup came with a burner and it wasnt powerful enough to boil the soup on the pot. The pot had no definite style to it. Tasted like soy bean soup with some sichuan peppers. Not excessively spicy and not very flavourful. Our ingredients took a long while to come out- and our egg rolls eventually never came. Practically all the ingredients were frozen with the exception of the fungi and the egg noodles. The sauce station looks thrown together with takeout containers and plenty of sauce. The bbq sauce had part of a spoon which was broken off in the sauce. The sauces are similar to haidilao type just not as fresh. But the chives looked a little greyish. Overall, service is not fantastic. We did remind them multiple times about the egg rolls, but it still didn't ever arrive. They at least took it off the bill. We forgot to check about the missing bakchoy. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. Hubby wasn't quite happy with our dinner last night.

The dining room was nicely lit and spacious. The waiter came around and took our drink and food order. I had a diet Pepsi, it was completely flat, I had to ask for a can instead. We placed our order for egg rolls to start and hot pot. Spicy broth, beef, fishball, fungus, bokchoy, shrimp, egg noodle and a side of white rice. They quickly set up the gas burner for soup and perched the soup pot on top. Then came out the plate of meat and noodle and we were told they are out of bokchoy. EVERYTHING WAS FROZEN SOLID We waited awhile for the soup to boil (needed to properly cook seafood) but it never did. We tasted the soup. It was a little spicy but odd. Couldn't put my finger on it. Then adding all the frozen items even just some at a time the soup never boiled. We let it sit for a while to at least gain some heat before starting to eat. Waiter came. Asked again about rice and egg rolls. The rice came We managed to cook everything and eat. Had to flag down staff to ask for a check Egg rolls never came. But appeared on the bill as well as the bokchoy that I had to ask to be removed from the bill. I hate writing negative reviews but this was needed.
