Everyone had their own room with their individual access code for their assigned room. So we felt secure and it was like our home away from home for a few days. Also every room has a kitchenette and side table as well as living room. You also have access to your own private sitting room with chairs that is enclosed so you can enjoy the outside while in your own room. The main kitchen is big and has a large fridge and coffee maker and utensils. You may have to pick up your own food and drinks depending on your accommodations but there is a Walmart nearby, the lodge also has plenty of room to host a party or bbq. This is definitely a great place for whatever you're planning to do while in Franklin,

It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

All needed kitchen utensils, appliances and housewares are available. A dishwasher and full-size washer and dryer round out everything needed for a longer stay. Did I mention the view? Start or finish the day on the back porch gazing at the mountains and Lake Chatuge. We are planning to be back during the summer to take advantage of the boat docks, on-site canoe rental, kids playhouse and a cool swim in the lake. Did I mention the staff? Everyone( Greg the owner, Jennifer the manager, Vicki and another young lady) made sure that our stay was comfortable

Hands down, the best vacation rental experience that we've ever had by far. My mom and I went with…read moreanother friend in October for a girls trip. We had such an amazing time and didn't want to leave. We've already booked our return trip for next year so we can bring our husbands and let them experience it as well! The house is absolutely stunning. It's updated just enough to make you comfortable with the modern amenities (we LOVED the fully equipped coffee bar) while not taking away from the beautiful historic aspect of the home. The owners were incredible. They really went the extra mile and added so many little touches that made us feel welcome and and right at home. From the local handmade soaps and bath bombs (perfect for the clawfoot tub with mountain views) to the fresh baked goods from a local bakery, candles from a local business owner, fresh flowers, handwritten card, the list just goes on! Todd, part of the husband/wife duo that owns the home gave us so many wonderful recommendations on restaurants and things to do while we were there. We took him up on many of his recommendations (all were amazing) but we also stayed in and just spent as much time at the house as possible. The gas fireplaces were beautiful, we spent many wonderful moments enjoying the 2 porches with porch swings and balcony with mountain views. We took advantage of the fire pit with the firewood that they provided. We played board games, cooked big breakfasts in the gorgeous kitchen, and just felt so peaceful and happy to be there the entire time. I could just go on and on, but we seriously cannot recommend the Farmhouse on Boxwood enough and we're already counting down the days until our return trip. :)

It can range from what is shown on here from a prior review to what we experienced. Be careful if it has rained. The trail gets very slippery (wear good hiking shoes or take them off like a lot of us did) and not for anyone with difficulties or unbalanced. Not sure how it is dry, but seems like it would have been much easier till the end. To get up to the waterfall is more inclined, but you can see it from below for those looking for an easier hike. My daughter has been going every summer for the past 4 years to Camp Blue Ridge in Clayton, GA…read more When we allowed her to go, she was only 11 and did not know any of the campers. Like my daughter, the fearless independent girl she is, she dove in feet first. Camp Blue Ridge welcomed her with open arms and all the letters she would write me were full of joy, adventure, and new friendships. The counselors are all very well-screened and do such a fantastic job of getting to know, mentoring, and making each camper feel special. What I love is this camp does not discriminate, all races/religions are always welcome. The cabins are super clean, the food is fantastic, the owners are loving and the activities are off-the-charts exciting. NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED. Every parent's dream, they have to communicate with one another without any negative impacts of social media. The field trips include waterparks, waterfalls, white-water rafting, horseback riding, tubing, and movie outings to name a few. But the magic takes place right there on-site, with over 50 activities, 2 spring lakes, tennis, pickleball, an indoor gym, huge swimming pools, and the list goes on. There are 2 full-time nurses on-site and a major hospital nearby if there are any accidents or your child needs medication daily. Fast forward, this was my daughter last year and it was so heart-breaking for all the campers but they made lifelong friends and no amount of time goes by that can break that bond. Can't say enough wonderful things about the Waldman family that have been creating smiles on these kiddos' faces for over 50 years. So if you're looking for a sleepaway camp for your child, whether they are outgoing or an introvert, look no further, Camp Blue Ridge is your choice. Trust me, your child will transform into the best possible version of themselves which will prepare them to go out into the real world and do great things!! All My Best, Kelley and Kiley Opsal! xoxoxo
