This teacher is more interested in drumming technicality into students than she is in nurturing musicality. There is an annual recital, and even kids who have been taking piano lessons for years sound like they just started learning. She's been studying for another career, and now seems to just be doing this for the income. She kept one student I know on the same song for a whole year without variation, then complained that he was acting bored. Upon switching to another piano teacher, he is interested in music again and improving fast, especially with respect to rhythm and musicality. She does not allow parents into the room where the kids have their lesson with her, and makes them wait downstairs in her living room. I've heard her yelling at students, and nearly went upstairs to make sure everything was OK a couple of times. Also, she makes you take off your shoes when you come into her house while you are waiting for your child, and she can be very rude. You feel like an intruder. NOT Professional! She has more affinity with older people than kids. I suggest you look elsewhere for your child. read more
