I will have to spend an additional $600 to have the top refinished, the back and side where the chip is steamed and glued, new hardware and the knicks and scrapes repaired. I am so disappointed in this purchase. It really was presented as a lovely antique writing desk and I feel duped by this company. The deliverer/shipper, who could barely speak English was no help and was headed to another destination so he wouldn't take it back for me. I had no choice but to keep it. Chairish reached out to me about how I felt about using USHIP which I had used before and had a very good delivery with them but they they went with another company I'd never heard of. So I don't know if this was the deliverers fault or this company's. No one at Chairish will respond to my request.

There are true antiques in this shop, not the usual retro pieces that I've come across in other shops labeled as antique. The gentleman in there was both friendly and accommodating and didn't seem to mind that my kids (including a stroller) were in his shop so total plus for me! This slice of American resourcefulness and grit provides everyday items, handmade and eco friendly products, that are needed in our daily lives with a few creations of their own which need to be seen. They even have a half off shelf for those who wish to take advantage of a great deal or two. Hand crafted 8 1/2 by 11 paintings approximate in size are offered for sale also. An excellent way to spruce up your home with aromatic sensations, soaps that work, and who knows, a handcrafted rocking chair, swing and even locally produced honey.
