I recently returned from Delhi, India and was craving something that could bring me back to those incredible flavors--knowing, of course, it wouldn't be exactly the same. Himalayan Kitchen in Webster did a really impressive job capturing that essence! The Butter Chicken sauce was absolutely outstanding--rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. While it's made with chicken breast instead of thighs, the taste more than made up for it. I paired it with rice and garlic naan, which complemented the dish beautifully. The only thing I wished for was a side of lentils to round out the meal. My husband ordered the chicken and shrimp chow mein, and he said it was one of the best he's ever had--high praise! And the samosas? Simply AMAZING. Crispy, flavorful, and definitely a must-order. On top of the delicious food, the service was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. I met friends here for brunch on a Sunday morning. Easy to find, plenty of parking, and no stairs. We were greeted & seated right away. Staff were super friendly and helpful as we chose some dishes to share and some as our main plates. There is also complementary milk tea in an airpot with cups on a table near the kitchen. The restaurant is bright, clean, and smells sooo delicious! Our food came out hot & fresh and we enjoyed everything. We ordered too much and portions were good sized - so we each took home some food. My main dish was the chicken tikka masala that was outstanding. If I hadn't eaten so much nan and appetizers I would have devoured it, but it was also nice to have it again for lunch the next day. Some of the best Indian food we have found in the Rochester area. We did medium which a bit too high for us. With that though excellent flavor for everything. Also very good proportions which i feel more aware of these days. We did take out but clearly they had enough parking and the host who got our food was pleasant. My husband and I ate at the Himalayan Kitchen for the first time today and if possible, we would have given it more than five stars. The restaurant is located at 1075 Ridge Rd., Webster, NY. The food is absolutely phenominal and the portions are generous. The service was impeccable and our wait person was attentive. We will definitely be back...and bring friends. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine, you have to come in and give it a try. They do take out as well. The decor is simple, but the food is not, it's divine! We tried something completely new for us today -- takeout from Himalayan Kitchen -- an Indian and Nepalese restaurant. Normally when we've eaten Indian food, it's been when someone has ordered it. Today we winged it and it was absolutely fantastic! We went a little overboard trying things and it was really excellent. The standouts were the Chana Masala and the Shrimp Korma (photo missing). We also ordered Veggie Biriyani, Naan, Roti, Papadums, and Raita. We're definitely going to go back! Our only quibble was they had wonderful looking chai in a self serve area. We'd have loved the ability to order that for our takeout. We asked and they said they didn't have any takeout cups. We hope they add this. read more

Just dined here for my first time. Ambiance was simple and nice. The waitstaff very pleasant and helpful translating the menu. We asked what was the most traditional entree on the menu and he said the Butter Chicken. We both took that recommendation. It was delicious. You can pick your own level of spice. Definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Full disclosure, we just ordered takeout. And by takeout I mean Momos, Haha! They were delicious. Everything I expected in the momos. Had the Fried and Chili chicken momos. Was expecting a lot more Himalayan dishes but was surprised to find mostly Indian. Hence the default to momos! read more

We decided to try something new and give this a shot; unfortunately it was one of the least satisfying dining experiences in recent memory. The service was terrible, and was the worst part of the experience. The host/waiter did not provide menus (we had to ask, and were given one between the two of us), we were offered no drink options but water, explained nothing about the menu and its options, silverware was not prepared and was put together as an afterthought and brought over only after the food had arrived. Tables were not wiped down in between diners; ours was sticky and felt gritty. The table behind us had to ask for plates after their food was brought out, another table had to ask if they served wine because the server did not upsell or communicate any of the offerings to the patrons. The food was decent; each dish is said to come with a bowl of basmati rice (according to the menu) but we received one single plate of rice to share between two entrees. Fine flavor, small portions - not worth the price of admission when larger portions of similar cuisine in a much more organized/friendly environment are available throughout the area. I ordered naan with my meal; when our entrees arrived I reminded the server we also had naan. He assured me it was on its way. You guessed it folks - they forgot the naan and it never arrived. He did apologize and said he "missed it", and took it off the bill - but when reminded earlier assured me it was coming. When it was time to settle up the restaurants card reader was down and they could not process my payment - I had to walk to the bank at the corner of the plaza, use the ATM, go back and pay with cash. Terrible. They need to hire a host, they need servers to upsell the options and talk to the patrons. They need to prep basics like silverware and plates. Wiping the tables before you sit someone down would also be nice - none of that here. Never again - this was a huge miss. Grand opening? Grand closing - give it less than a year unless they improve. read more

Yay! Indian food in Webster. They're right there in the same strip as Dominos. We did take out and enjoyed everything we got. Everything was solid including the butter chicken. Webster local and Indian food lover here- I came here recently with my family and oh my god! The food and service is amazing!! The staff are so kind and helpful. I go to Indian places all over Roc and this might be my favorite. The food was perfect, the meat was tender, the rice was so savory!! I will definitely be coming back!! 10/10 restaurant.
