This restaurant was a little out of our way, but the Mr. is a big fan of Indian/Nepalese food and wanted to make the trip for his birthday. We ordered our favs and a couple of new items recommended by our server. Though we were asked for a spicy heat level, once again I think the scale missed the mark. His Lamb Vindaloo was, in our opinion, mild to medium - he asked for spicy, super spicy. The medium we requested on our Chicken Tikka Masala was mild, with no hint of anything resembling spicy heat. All delicious, just no dishes that blew our hair back as far as spice. The Momo Volcano was super yummy. I vowed to order it next time I'm suffering from a cold or flu - it would fix me up lickety-split! The Chicken 65 was a bit dry; the veg samosas were quite good, especially with the chutneys. They had Old Monk 10000, yippee! I did not enjoy having to walk outdoors, past another restaurant and down the 2nd hallway to visit the restroom. You also need a code, so I had to double back to get it. Not optimal. Who designed this space? I heard the Golden Road Brewery has its own restroom - a note to myself should I decide to visit this little center again. Plenty of parking and very easy to find. Service was speedy and friendly. On Tuesday we did not need a reservation; we met at 4pm, so we were the only ones in the place. Loved the open-air restaurant right on the marina. Cool and picturesque. Did I take photos? Great location to catch some savory food and a nice ocean breeze. Our main server was very friendly and helpful. We tried the volcano momo, butter chicken, ctm chicken, veggie samosas, and the tandoori chicken. All were soo delicious. You can literally smell the food from the parking lot. Drink selection is nice. You can choose from lager, pilsner, ipa....or simply a classic mango lassi. Parking is ample as this is a private court area right of PCH. My only suggestion is that the volcano momo should be redesigned. The flame is too big for the silver platter and it can cause things/people to get burned if not careful. read more

We walked by Himalayan Grill about two weeks ago and could smell the food from outside, and ever since then we kept saying, "We have to come back and try that place." Well, after watching the sunset, we finally did--and it ended up being such a perfect little date night. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming. We asked if we could sit outside by the marina, and they happily accommodated us. Before we knew it, our table was beautifully set, we had two glasses of wine, and we were sitting there overlooking the boats. The whole experience just felt effortless and special. And then came the food. Everything was delicious. The samosas, the sauces, the saffron rice, the tikka masala, the garlic naan--seriously, there wasn't one thing we didn't enjoy. Even the presentation was adorable, with some of the dishes served in little boat-shaped dishes that fit the marina setting perfectly. A special thank-you to Veek, who made the evening even better. He was so kind and engaging and checked on us several times throughout dinner without ever making us feel rushed. We had questions about some of the sauces and different dishes, and he took the time to explain everything, make recommendations, and chat with us about India. He even gave us some sauce to take home. Those little touches really stood out. Now we're already planning what we're ordering next time--the tandoori chicken he recommended and the coconut curry are definitely on the list. We went in not really knowing what to expect and left feeling like we had discovered our new little hideaway. First time here last night and the food was so unbelievably good! I was excited to try it after having just visited Nepal a few months ago. The food here is VERY authentic compared to what I ate in Nepal, and even possibly better! They have some great super authentic Nepali options on the menu that I have not seen offered in other Nepali restaurants. The veggie momos are probably the best ones I've ever had in the US! Texture and flavor of the filling was 10/10. Also served with an unbelievably tasty dipping sauce. My Chana masala was also outstanding; the sauce had the perfect rich flavor, creamy texture, and amount of spice. Even the rice was flavorful, delicious, and had a perfect fluffy fresh consistency. If I'm eating basmati rice straight out of the bowl you know this place is legit. Service was great and friendly, and loved the cute boat shaped dishes as well. We will definitely be back. read more

Delicious food. Everything was good, but favorites that really stood out were the chicken lollipop and lamb masala. The sauce that came with the lollipop chicken really complimented it well. Could not stop mopping up the lamb masala with the naan and rice. The complimentary cracker and condiments were a tasty start to our meal. Went there yesterday and already want to go back for more. November 2025: Nice changes since my last visit nearly 2 years ago. Updated sturdy tables with an upgraded table setup to cloth napkins, etc. Note, if coming from the main parking lot, the restaurant might appear closed at night as one can barely see any lights. The entrance is down a hallway. We checked out the Chicken Vindaloo with a spice level of 7 out of 9. Will have to take that down a notch as it just made us instantly sweat. Very tasty but could use more protein. My dining companion felt like we got more potatoes than chicken. We also check out the Lamb Chau Chau which didn't make us sweat and I like the dry noodles. Lamb pieces tasty but again, not plentiful. I'll be back. Decent prices. Great location, plenty of parking, good service. read more

This has become my new Go-To restaurant if I want to impress someone, or don't want to risk trying somewhere new and want to KNOW I'm going to have an amazing meal. They have the trio of flavorings on the table already out- The mint, the pickled items, and the tamarind-esque sauce. They give you papadams for the table once you get settled which is SO nice, I've never been anywhere else that does it. Order anything, it doesn't matter you will enjoy it. But some of our favorites are the lamb korma, butter chicken, and the palak paneer. Additionally, their mango lassi is great, and they serve ICED chai which I've also never had except here. And It's delicious, I have to stop myself from sucking it down! Everyone has always been incredibly kind, I've eaten in and done take-out and it's always superb. read more

One of my top 5 favorite restaurants. Everything you can order here is delicious and made with so much love. Order a coconut water? It comes out IN a coconut! Want some naan to go with your meal? Not only are there lots of flavors, it'll come out fresh out the oven and practically melt in your mouth. Even the kids meal fries are phenomenal!! Most restaurants focus mostly on the entrees (which are also fantastic btw), but no detail goes without being treated with the utmost care at this place. (As a side tangent, do yourself a favor and try one of their Indian beers. It pairs SO well with the food and I had no idea Indian beer was so delicious before coming to this restaurant. My favorite is the Old Monk). The service is also amazing, everyone is so friendly and it seems like everyone who works the front end checks in on you, not just your waiter. You can tell they all have a lot of pride in this establishment and we as the customers get treated like royalty because of it! The restaurant itself is very nice, but we always eat outside, you can't beat the ocean breeze and the view of the marina. All-in-all this place is just so so so good. Great Indian Food and the waterside view is a bonus! We started with the vegetable samosas and the pastry was crispy without being tough and the filling was very flavorful. For our mains, we selected the Tibetan Lamb platter and Nervana Chicken with Pilau rice and 2 types of naan. The lamb platter came sizzling to the table over a bed of roasted onions, cauliflower and broccoli. It was so delicious and the lamb was really tender. The chicken Nervana was excellent as well and the creamy sauce had coconut and a delightful flavor profile. The Naan was very hot and the perfect texture to pick up that wonderful sauce. For a nightcap we ended our meal with a cup of chai tea and it tasted so good in a cold, rainy day. I could taste the orange water and other spices. I have nothing negative to say about this place. I tried hard to find even a small semblance of an annoyance but there's nothing. The food is top notch. It's been fairly hard to find good momos in Orange County and then we discovered Himalayan Grill. This was our second visit this month. Okay, so! What did we order. I love the vegetarian combo for two as a base layer. You get samosas, naan, dal, korma and saag paneer. Plus this rich luscious ice cold kheer for dessert. Then you have to add on momos. Obviously. We have been really enjoying the chicken ones but there's about a dozen varieties. The butter chicken here is also excellent. The star tho, other than the momos, is their tandoori. The hot plates come out sizzling and absolutely drenching the place of delicious smells and spices. We also enjoy the ambiance. It's lovely to have some outside seating on the water. A gorgeous spot for date night. The icing on this cake is the friendly helpful staff. Our server, Amrita who moved here a year ago from Nepal, is a shining star. My husband said the lobster was the most flavorful he's ever had. My 8yr old son said the chicken tikka masala was so delicious. We also had the chicken chau chau, butter chicken, chicken lollipops, and chicken biriyani and ate it with the garlic naan. There was nothing we didn't like. Still the best Indian food around. Bengan Barta and Tikka Masala are awesome (for me, that's kinda like testing a pepperoni pizza at a pizza place) Vindaloo is also awesome. It's spicy but the other spices and ginger still shine. I've never been impressed by vindaloo before here (Other places were just whatever meat hidden under hot peppers and potatoes) Chau chau is all good Samosas are excellent (maybe the make them here) Madras curry is good Maybe there is a better Indian Restaurant in Tustin or in Cerritos, but I haven't found any that are still open. All the staff we interacted with were very kind & my food was made right on time. Parking is plenty in the lot. I ordered the steamed chicken momo, the chicken soup, butter chicken, & veggie korma. I loved the chicken momo especially with the sauce & I also really enjoyed the butter chicken. It came with a good amount of rice. My weekly lunch buddy and I landed here this lunchtime. I had noticed it in Peter's Landing on my way up to Seal Beach. I was intrigued by the name and when I mentioned it to JP he said "it is one of our favorites ". I love the location, right in the Marina, looking out on the moored pleasure craft. The restaurant itself is light and bright and high-ceilings. The menu was fairly typical for South Asian food, and I was looking forward to having my sinuses cleaned out by powerful curries and spice. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful and we selected the lamb curry for me, and the beef for JP. The platters were visually beautiful, but totally lacking in heat or spice. The lamb was delicious and perfectly stewed but I tasted no curry at all. I am still giving this restaurant 5 stars. The view, the service, the ambiance, the beauty of the presentation. It is not as though there are plenty of actual Himalayans looking for the taste of their homeland to keep the shop afloat, when most of their customers in Sunset Beach are plenty white! read more
