Specifically, and due to the completion of a home renovation scheduled for the 1st day of the month (Monday, November 1), scheduled them to return all the items on the next day, Tuesday, November 2. We subsequently received a charge for the entire month of storage for November. When we questioned them why they would charge us for the entire month, the representative from the company indicated that that was their policy. We further questioned why they only charged us for a partial month when they picked up all the items. My assumption was that it would be somehow prorated for the days (less than 48 hours) as opposed to a full month. Rather than explain this discrepancy or difference in practice, they said we should have scheduled differently in advance to avoid the entire month charge. However, and unfortunately, that was not an option given the renovation was completed on the first day of the month and the first business day of the month. I find this practice of business does not represent a family owned and operated company that prides themselves with their business values. Extremely discouraging and somewhat egregious. And especially challenging when you are trying to coordinate with contractor on timing of occupancy, certificate of completion from the county, and the storage company.

In reality, the job took twice as long, and I was charged $1,100.25--double the estimate! When I questioned the overcharge, Troy (the owner) explained that they typically recommend three movers for this type of move but only sent two. He claimed that even with a third mover (at a higher hourly rate), the total cost would have been "about the same" because a third person would only save 20 minutes--which makes zero sense. If three movers were recommended, why send only two? And how does an extra mover only save 20 minutes? This company lowballs estimates to get your business, then charges you double. If you want honest, transparent pricing, look elsewhere. Avoid Price Moving at all costs.

We were beyond thrilled with all aspects of our move, from the initial "Guaranteed Not to Exceed"…read moreestimate (the only company of seven to give us something other than an estimate that could go up significantly), to the final move into our storage unit 4 hours away. Jose, Walter and Joel packed out our 3100 sq foot house in just about five hours, and they couldn't have been friendlier, more professional, or more accommodating while they were doing it. We had a color-coded system in place, and they not only picked up on it immediately, they enthusiastically supported it throughout the evolution. We didn't have many requests, but those we did they responded to happily. They were extremely careful with all our belongings, and they left the house in great shape despite the obvious disruption. The next day, Jose, Joel and Gene (Jean?) came to load our HHG into the truck. They were done in exactly two hours! WAY quicker than we would have guessed. We hit Jose with a last-minute request to allow us to affix inventory numbers to all the boxes, and he happily accommodated the request, altering the order of goods going into the truck to allow us time to finish our inventory. Again, the three gentlemen could not have been more professional as they carried out their responsibilities. Jose made sure we had his number and he reviewed the plans for drop off to our storage unit the following day, so there would be no surprises ... which we REALLY appreciated. The unloading process was flawless too. I was active duty military for 33 years, and this is move number 12 for us ... so we've had some experience with this maneuver. This has been the absolute BEST all-around experience with a moving crew that we've had! And this is the FIRST one I'm actually paying for, so that's saying something!  I told Jose several times this has been about as stress-free a move as is possible. If I needed to move again in this area, I wouldn't even get several quotes - Ray the Mover gets it, hands down!

The second time the tardiness threw a very big wrench into the gears and I don't remember the excuses but know we ended up having to stay in a hotel because of the delays. What is unique about both instances is being told that there were issues with their bank so they had to have cash for the job. For each occurence the other oddity was not being able to get a reciept for my tax purposes. I saved all the text messages between us in case I faced an audit but it occured to me businesses have the luxury of collecting unreported cash...and that bothers me!!
