The first and most disturbing one is that considering the LACK OF time the repair took, it was impossible for them to have repaired it at all... secondly, even if they had repaired it (and charged me over $700), my vehicle would not be leaking oil every single day!!!! Unprofessional, unorganized and disrespectful! Had appt to look at a truck on Monday. Arrived at the set time to be told the sales rep was off that day (we confirmed the appt three times) and the truck had been sold. I was communicating with the rep the week before but nothing when they sold the truck. I understand selling the truck but someone should have contacted me to determine whether I was interested in another vehicle or just canx outright. I expressed this to the mgr and his response was the truck was sold late on Saturday and they were closed Sunday. About an hour after the appt time I got an email from the sales rep asking if I was going to keep my appt because if not they'd like to know so someone else could schedule that time. This was described as a courtesy to their customers. I guess courtesy is a one way street to them because I received none. read more

I can't say enough good things about Tee, the salesman who sold us our Enclave! He was fantastic! The service dept., however, is another story. I found out the hard way that if you take your car to be serviced and you leave to go run errands, they put you behind everyone else who's waiting in the waiting room. It doesn't matter if you were ahead of them. I was told my service would take 3-4 hours so my husband and I ran errands and had lunch, then went back to get my car 3-1/2 hours after we'd left it. After I waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes, I was told they were sorry, they didn't realize I was back so my car had not been serviced because they put the people in the waiting room ahead of me. I will probably never go back. Relaying this so others will know that you need to stay in the waiting room while your car is being serviced. read more

I can't sing the praises of Hilton Head GMC any louder and, especially the praises of service advisor, Bryan Angel. Bryan did what no other company could do for us and that was get us out the door by 2 p.m. to meet and catch a boat to Daufuskie Island, SC We are not locals. My husband and I drove our 2011 Cadillac CTS from South Florida to vacation on Daufuskie, Island SC. We arrived a day early to have plenty of time to grocery shop, before catching the ferry to the island. Plus, a low-air, tire fault light kept coming on during our drive and we wanted to check that out. This morning we came out from the hotel only to find our car had a flat rear tire. Now, not only did we have a fault light to contend with, but also a rear flat tire! We quickly got the spare on, then drove to at least four or five tire stores, but no one had our tire size in stock. The time is 11 a.m. We've always had our Cadillac serviced at a GMC dealership in Florida and that's when we thought to try the GMC dealer in Bluffton, SC. Enter our hero Bryan Angel. Bryan was service advisor on duty when we walked thru the door to Hilton Head GMC. Bryan calmly listened to our tale of woe, then said, "let's see what I can do." First, he had the required tires in stock. Next, he checked with the service staff and got them to take a later lunch, and lo and behold, we were ready to go and out the door at 2 p.m. This could have turned easily into a nightmare scenario, but Bryan Angel of Hilton Head GMC was there to save the day! After going to several dealerships and talking to different sales persons I end up at this dealership. I look at the cars available till I find the one that I absolutely like it. No body came to pester me while looking at cars. Then I came inside the dealership and meet Mr. Theone Groover a true gentleman with all the patience in the world show me the cars I like it. My eyes where already on one. So after I decided Mr. Groove with all his patience went and move the car for me to give it a ride and start telling me in details everything about the car and features. All the time he spend never I felt been pushed to buy, and that to me makes a huge difference on the wrongful and generalized idea of car sales persons I had. I finally decided to buy the car and Mr. Theone Groover start doing all his work also with the same attention to the details and my interest. So, if you ever want to buy a car? Go to this dealership and if you want a true car sales professional just ask for Mr. Theone Groover. Even days after I had the car if I call for anything regarding my purchase Mr. Groover continue to be the gentleman and professional answering all my questions. I got the car I wanted but above all, I was extremely lucky to deal with a real professional that totally changed my close mind about car sales persons. read more

When we purchased a vehicle from them, I rejected their additional BS warranty which they had tried to sneak in when getting me commit to a monthly payment opposed to a vehicle sale price. The finance manager actually told me "if you drive this off the lot and it breaks down, you're stuck with it." Honey, let's do some research on South Carolina lemon laws and quit lying to customers. He also told me that I only qualified for a loan through GM Financial. Ended up with a 12.5% interest rate (TWELVE POINT FIVE) and a 5 year loan despite repeatedly stating that I wanted a 2-3 year loan. I didn't know that I actually qualified for other lending options until other finance companies began to contact me. It was overall a bad experience, and I would have walked out had the vehicle not been exactly what we wanted. read more

I have extensive history in the field from Technical to Management. I have owned GMs for 15 years. My Regal GS Stage One is treated like a red headed step child. I ended up at this dealer because the Critz dealer in Savannah trashed my car. The car has had 7 warranty repairs and spent a total of two months in the repair shop since I bought it 9 months ago. The service advisor Randy either screens my phone calls or is too overworked... Either Way he made it apparent today that he doesn't care since he is retiring. He did tell me today that he doesn't understand the technical end of the vehicles. He doesn't properly put down concerns which causes me to have to come back to the dealership. The car has a check engine light coming on and off for p1101 intake performance, p0422 catalyst, and p0101 mass or volume air flow. They tell me these codes are normal if the car is driven hard.(it's a sports car) I was accused of installed the GM performance kit wrong but then they couldn't tell me what I did wrong and not a second later was told that the car is running to spec. The bypass valve isn't closing until 3,000rpm and the turbo spools at 4,000 rpm.... NOT NORMAL it occasionally is surging and the bypass will open and close. 295hp 335lbtq car feels like a Honda Civic. So now I'm stuck with a 2013 Regal Gran Sport that has half the power, a check engine light and no real passing power to avoid bad drivers on the road. Michael Culp the Service Manager doesn't return phone calls.... Feel like I am trying to reach Denny(Service Manager of Critz) Tim Dobbs the Customer Service Director for GM is typical faceman. I tell these guys every time my car is in "Do not wash it" cause of all the damage that happens in the washes... They washed it Last time I had a problem the driver front car seat frame broke.... They called me and told me it was fine....... guess what he missed the frame stretching through the leather back of the seat.... But not done not two days later after I get the car back the seat breaks again because they didnt install the lumbar support correctly... They didn't say this but I know how it goes I lied on the Buick survey because they take a bonus from the advisors if you slam them. Let me tell you Service Advising is the worst job in America. There is a reason it is a revolving door job. If they want me to update this review positively they will fix my car! But since my main point of contact for customer service wont talk to me at the dealer I have little faith... Recommendations Find a dealership with skilled technicians that have a natural instinct instead of only being able to flow chart diag Sell and do not buy a GM product. read more

After a bad experience last year I decided to give the service department one more try. Nothing complicated just a slow leak in a tire and an oil change in my 2020 pick-up truck. 4 hours later my truck is good to go... so I'm told. One minor problem as I drive off the oil service warning is alerting me that an oil service is due. Turns out they didn't change the oil! It was on the work order, and the oil service warning clearly alerts anyone who drives the truck that an oil service was due... duh. Certainly not a disaster, but it is a hassle to plan my day around a service department that can't get it right! The time before they had my vehicle for 4 days and accomplished little. I had a wheel bearing that failed on my 2018 GMC on our visit to Hilton Head Island. I had shopped around for a new car and picked out two vehicles on the lot that I was interested in. I called and left a message twice for a sales person to call me, no one did. My husband went in and asked for a sales person. He was greeted by Dave Prince who showed him the car and went into sign papers. While sighing , my husband noticed a costumer parking very close to the car and wondered how she would get out. When he got home with the car he realize there was a ding in it that was not there before and was put there by the costumer opening her door , as we had taken pictures of it.He called Dave who said send me a picture and he did. Couple days later he wanted me to come in so that he could get a picture so that they could pay to have it fixed. I went in and took about an hour to get me connected to onstar Which I did not want. Dave took a picture of the scratch, dent in my car and said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. They do have a man that comes on site so after not hearing back I went to him . I did get a text from Dave asking if I was happy with my car and I said yes But you were going to get back to me on the dent. No reply. Long story short I paid for the dent to be painted and that $65 lost them a customer. We also have been looking at a new truck there and took our business elsewhere. read more

My wife drove from Miami to Bluffton to visit an ailing brother last Fri. After the visit she left Sunday to come back when a warning light came on in my 2012 Acadia. Being Sunday my only option was to call AAA or Onstar to have the car towed to your dealership. Early Monday morning I called and Mr Joe Lapp answered. He had already looked at the car and being 500 miles away I had to rely on him. I could not have gotten a more professional and understanding person to solve my situation/problem. He showed concern for my wife, got the car diagnosed on a busy Monday morning, got the alternator installed and Pat was on the road by 3:00. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the fine service from your dealership thanks to Mr. Lapp. He even asked Pat to call him when she got back to Miami. I am giving Hilton Head Cadillac dealership 5 stars because of their commitment to customer service and satisfaction. After purchasing (at what I believe was a very fair deal) a used vehicle, (which normally does not include warranty coverage), an engine issue was detected. The fault was not correctly diagnosed at time of sale. Tim and Trey went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction with corrective repairs and now allow our family to own a trouble free vehicle. I had a poor experience with the Cadillac service front desk. The air conditioning was not working. I told them that I was only in the area for a week. The only available appointment was on a Thursday that I was leaving on Saturday. I was told the diagnosis could be done on Thursday and the repairs, if necessary, done on Friday. I brought the car in for a 1:00 appointment and was told that only Julie could check me in, and she would find me after her lunch. It never happened. I located her and she tells me that the diagnosis will take 1-3 hours. The car still had not been moved by 1:20. She also said any needed parts will not be available until the following mid-week. I asked if the diagnosis could be performed so that I could get the repair done in another town. She says that the diagnosis cannot be performed without a repair and other stories that added to my awareness that this was a waste of time, and nothing was possible. read more

I had to purchase my 2019 GMC Acadia Denali in March 2019 at GMC of Hilton Head. I was traveling thru Hilton Head in a GMC Yukon Denali when the engine decided to give out. So I was in a rock and hard place, replace the engine or buy a new auto to get home to Florida. I decided to buy a new GMC, they gave me pennies on the dollar on my trade because they new I didn't have any options. The thing I am most upset with them about and BUYER BEWARE, they sold me an extended 100,000 mile warranty since I put a lot of miles on my car, when I signed the deal. The told me it was bumper to bumper and I would have no worries for 100,000 miles. Fast forward 1 year and 7 months after my purchase, my sunroof shade will not lock (broken piece) and 2 of my "premium wheels" the finish is flaking off very cheap wheels. I take my car into my local GMC Dealership in FL and they tell me the plan I bought is only for big things NOTHING cosmetic. Unreal and sham on me for not getting all the details on the warranty when signing the deal. When your making a quick decision to buy a $50,000 car you are not in the right mind. My review is basically telling you to READ all the documents and ask tons of questions on what this covers, because obviously I didn't. Remember they are car salesman and they can make you hear what you want to hear. Again I should have challenged them more so it is my fault, but I don't want others to get pulled into their scam! DON"T BUY THE WARRANTY until they take you thru every piece on the car that is covered. read more

I made an appointment with the Service department for an oil change on my truck and for a nail to be removed from one of the tires. Dropped my truck off at the appointed time 7:30 am. Due to Covid, I respectfully said that I wasn't waiting on site, but call when it's ready and that I definitely needed the truck before 4. The only call was at 3:40; the truck was ready. When I arrived, they had an estimate of the cost of 4 new tires they wanted to sell me and the nail wasn't even removed. The computer inspection stated that my oil was GOOD, so the oil change never happened. And now an hour plus since arriving to pick up my truck and still waiting for the nail to be removed. The Service Manager apologized with the guy who took care of the truck is new, whatever that means, I don't know. I have had the truck there since my APPOINTMENT time of 7:30 am. Not happy. After I filled out a credit app. And after they ran my credit, they stoped talking to me. After I got a hold of them again they told me they don't finance cars like the one I wanted from them. I asked them then why did you run my credit? They said they did not. But I have proof they did. (Now I have a credit mark from them running my credit) they people are dishonest and no one should buy a car from them read more

I just had my 2017 CTS serviced and a few problems addressed. Great service! They fully explained everything ahead of time, gave me a nice new Cadillac XT5 loaner, and completed the work 100% to my satisfaction. Very nice people doing a very good job. I contacted them about a car they had for sale. I told them I wanted the car and would put 2000 down on it a finance the rest. They told me No Problem that they finance cars all the time. After I filled out a credit app. And after they ran my credit. They did not get back to me. I contacted them again and they told me they don't finance cars as old as the one I was getting from them. I ask if you knew this then why did you run my credit? ( now I have a mark in my credit report somebody ran it. ) They tried to tell me that they didn't run my report. I have proof that they did. I was vacationing at Hilton Head Island and had been looking for used SUV to replace my aging vehicle. I found a Toyota Venza on AutoTrader located at the HH Automotive. On visiting the site, The sales representative, "T" Groover, was very helpful in allowing me to check out this vehicle. We agreed upon a purchase price of this Venza with a resonable trade for my existing vehicle. We completed the cash sale even though I did not have the title for the existing vehicle while allowing me to arrange for my bank to overnight a check to complete the sale. Everyone at the dealership was very friendly in assisting with this sales including the recovery of some compact discs I mistaking left in the old car, even after it had been transferred off-site for auction. read more
