The rooms were clean, comfortable and cool upon arrival. It was perfect because I love keeping my hotel rooms cold. The hallways and elevators were like saunas though which is really my only complaint about the property. There was ample free parking, the meeting space was nice and the two ladies I interacted with at the front desk had to be the friendliest hotel staff I ever met. They were both wonderful. read more

The room was fair. The air in the room was pretty stale though. Actually the same smell was on the elevator as well as the entire LL where our room was located. It didn't smell fresh at all, we sprayed fabreze, which helped. The room was a nice size, the sofa was a bit worn looking, everything else was fine; separate livingroom area with a TV and soda bed. The free breakfast was pretty good although limited in selection. There is a bar and they offer happy hour as well. They also have infused water. Our service was fine , parking was good. There is also an outside court yard area that seems nice however we didn't use it. I noticed a small park area across the way as well. The immediate area is great, surrounded by restaurants, Walmart, etc. read more

Overall, things could have been better . The staff was pleasant and super helpful. There's a really nice Italian restaurant across the street. And although I usually wouldn't post something like this, there's actually a really good liquor store there as well they carried a very wide selection, which was surprising. I ended up with a nice Chardonnay for the night. Clean and comfortable as we have come to expect from Hilton. Breakfast was good however not included which came as a last minute shock. It is usually included for Hilton honors members. Seems as though it may be an older building and while they've renovated the front lobby area I think there's opportunities to renovate the rooms and hallways. The room doors slam like crazy and need to be recalibrated. Seems like they use exterior door closing mechanisms to control interior doors. Overall they lack the finishing touches that would make this at least at 3 star. I would probably look for a newer Hilton property in the area. read more

The customer service is very rude very distasteful. Upon checking in, I handed over my ID when it was time for him to hand it back. He threw the card on the front desk. I asked him to pick it up and hand it to me. He was rude about it. He shoved it in my hand and then when his time to hand the key card over, he toss the key card in the front desk and I asked him what's his problem and he said it's not rude or disrespectful to put things on the on the front desk. I said if I handed it to you and I am attentive to this conversation and my hand is actively extended hand it back to me. It is rude. He proceeds to be disrespectful and say other words. read more

The hotel was clean and quiet, conveniently located to everywhere I needed to be in Frederick, and the staff were top notch. Checking in was simple and easy, I love that my room was on the lower level, so I didn't have to take the elevator to the fitness center. The fitness center is small but has anything you need. I didn't catch his name, but the server bartender that was working the hotel dining area on Wednesday the 15th, was super kind and efficient with his service. There were a lot of people, and he handled everything gracefully. I had had a long day, and his kindness was appreciated. I didn't have a chance to try the breakfast offerings, so I can't speak to that, but the lobby coffee was pretty good for hotel coffee! I would definitely stay here if I come to Frederick for business again. read more

This has been our "go to" hotel for visiting family in Frederick Md. We typically book a king suite with separate sitting area, but booked a double queen this past weekend for 3 people. The room was large and "as always" nicely decorated, the use of long counters and underneath storage makes for a smartly appointed room. A night stand between the beds works great for each queen bed, but not so much for the other sleeper. This room enjoyed an addition, very comfortable arm chair with ottoman and moveable cafe table, which worked perfectly as "the other side of the bed" side table. The rooms are like those in any other HGI, but the staff is the star of the show! The front desk people are very pleasant and accommodating. JR at the bar where I get dinner, is professional, kind and Johnny on the spot with any request. He always makes sure the food and drinks are to your liking. MISHA, at breakfast is as sweet as they come. She helps you get something delicious to start your day. Looks nothing like the pictures online. The first room I was giving was on the second floor. The carpet looked wet or dirty. The bathroom was subpar at best and the blanket on the bed had a stain on it. I honestly wanted to request a refund but I knew that was most likely impossible. We stayed here for NYE. The staff were very pleasant at this hotel. However, when we entered the first room, it smelled completely of cigarette smoke. So we went downstairs to change rooms, which the woman at the front desk was very understanding and changed us to a different room with no problem. The new room was better but the pillows on one of the beds smelled like head sweat and like it hadn't been cleaned. In addition, the toilet tank kept running loudly through the middle of the night. Also liked the fact that they have a little bar downstairs and an indoor pool however we didn't get to enjoy bc it was still closed ... I had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Frederick this past weekend driving a moving truck for my daughter from SC to MA. I am a Gold Hilton Honors member just shy of Diamond (thx covid) so I have a lot of brand loyalty. In general, this a nice property, very clean, with friendly service. As with most hotels, they use a super-secret camera lens to make pool appear much larger than it really is. LoL. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this property an 8 as compared to its peers and competitors. All that being said, it was the small things that I was not happy with. I was making the trip with one of my sons and had made reservations in a few hotels, all of which were for two queen beds. When I arrived, my room was a single king. I told the front desk I had reserved a double queen room and they offered a rollaway bed. I don't recommend those in any hotel unless you have no other choice. Apparently, they didn't have any other rooms available. Given all the "welcome wedding" bags they must have been supporting a large wedding in or near the hotel. That would explain why I might have been switched to a king room and explain why their rate was so high. I am used to paying in the 150 range for a Hilton Garden Inn in most of the country outside the major city markets. Over $200 in a smaller market really pushed my loyalty to the brand. The Hilton website for the property says "Cooked-to-order breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily at our Garden Grille & Bar". The property specific web site says, "Available but with modified service: Breakfast, On-site Restaurant(s), Room Service." Nowhere does it say the restaurant or bar is closed because of post covid staffing shortages. After driving 9.5 hours I had no desire to drive a moving truck around to find a restaurant. That's why I selected a Hilton Garden Inn, a nice simple meal and cocktail at the end of a long day. Not this time. As it turns out they served breakfast but start late on the weekends. We were back on the road before it was open. In summary if you don't mind paying a premium price for a property with reduced services this is a good choice. If you do mind there are other Hilton properties as well as competitors' properties with far more affordable rates in the same area. read more

The ceiling fan in the bathroom was so caked in dust that it sounded like an engine. Otherwise employees was nice. And they have a pretty decent breakfast spread. My family recently hosted a three-day event for approximately 100 guests. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the food was flavorful, and our guests had a wonderful time. The bartenders and staff at the events worked hard to do their best. However, anyone should think twice before having a large event here. The stress and sleep some of my family lost planning this affair was not worth the headaches! The event planner was difficult to work with, unresponsive to emails/phone calls in a timely manner. It was a struggle every step to execute our requests for COVID safety. She promised certain details that were not the case during the reception. The event planner was absent the entire weekend and we were not given an alternate contact for problems. My parent's credit card was charged without notification or approval of the amount, and they were over charged for the bar bill. My family was told "we can't" pass hors d' oeuvres, have plated meals or servers on the buffet. The planner finally admitted they were short on staff so three servers would be hired at an additional cost to us. At the event they pulled the hotel manager, and front desk staff last minute. What staff were we paying for? Table linens options were not acceptable because they didn't have the correct sizes. Renting linens was prohibitively expensive. We were forced to purchase all linens/napkins. My family was told extra cloths were needed because the hors d'oeuvres and dinner buffet could not be served on the same tables, but they were. Food was not served on time Saturday night or Sunday morning. Per the contract the appetizers were supposed to be left out during dinner but were not. Coffee and tea were included but not set up until a guest requested it. Sunday guests from ours and another party were in the wrong buffet lines. We had to direct guest to the proper event ourselves. Several of my guests reported they had no heat in their rooms. Maintenance was called multiple times. Problems were not rectified. The general manager admitted he was not aware of what the event contract stated nor was he aware of the HVAC issues. All he offered was that communication was clearly a problem. read more

Our stay was disappointing. This hotel needs some up keep. The thermostat in our room didn't work, the smoke alarm kept blinking, the fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and annoying, and the faucet in the bathtub didn't work correctly to turn the shower on. Also, there is very limited dining for breakfast with not enough staff. Over all the staff were polite and courteous, and the hotel is conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Yet, due to the above complaints we would not recommend or stay there again. read more

Stayed here for about a week. The staff we encountered were all amazingly kind and friendly. They were so helpful and did everything with a smile which definitely made my stay more pleasant. Everyone from the housekeepers to the front desk people to the servers in the little restaurant. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave which is super nice. A decent sized tv. And a garden style bath tub. My only critique is I like a soft bed and the bed we had was a bit firmer then I would have liked. The pool and the hot tub are on the lower level and a little small and indoors but the back wall is made of glass which opens it up. Nice little feature I thought. The restaurant has pretty good food for a hotel. The buffalo wings are good. They have specials each day that are decent. They also have a decent little bar that's open 5-11p. There is a little store type thing next to the front desk that has snacks,drinks, and items like Tylenol and tweezers just in case you forget. The location is super close to lots of stores and restaurants as well. read more

This location is accessible to Downtown Historic Frederick, shops, restaurants. Our room was clean, fresh new towels and no issues with housekeeping. I'd recommend this location for your stay. We had an absolutely amazing experience here! The hospitality was superb as well as the breakfast.

Was here for less than 12 hours. Just somewhere to shower and sleep after a softball tournament. We checked in later in the evening and the lady at the front desk was more occupied with her phone to help. Later when I went downstairs to return the cart she was chilling outside while someone was waiting at the front desk for help. She came back in behind me and started helping the guy​ while she was still on a personal video call. There was black mold on the ceiling in the shower area and a weird black spot on the wall above one of the lights on the room. Breakfast is not free and not clearly advertised as to the price. $50.00 for 3 people to have a mediocre breakfast is a bit much.​​​​​ read more

Normally I'll crash at my brother's house in Frederick but he was at capacity haha so we had to book a room here. Like most hotels, you get a very good first impression by the lovely lobby with fireplace and restaurant (more on that in a minute...) and free cookies (yes... nom nom) The rooms are nice included with a fridge and microwave and all your other basics. The TV is even fancier than mine (I'm sad to say) As for the restaurant, we stopped in here just to get some breakfast before going out for the day. All I wanted was a bagel. (one.. single...uno) But apparently they have a flat rate breakfast of $10. So you if you want a bagel, it's a $10 bagel. If you want a fruit, it would be a $10 plate a fruit. Soooo if you're going to eat there you may as well make it worth your while, or at least ask for a box to take something with you... read more

Staff is LOVELY. However, this place is under major construction. The smell of the adhesive glue is overwhelming. Can't stay in the lobby long or you'll get a headache- not sure how the front desk staff handles it so well. Elevators smell. Lobby is filled with stacked chairs and no where to sit because of the construction. Carpet rolls in the parking lot. Room is ok, but I'm weirderd out about the shower looking so "wet" on the stone. Also, there's a flashing light, I'm guessing part of the smoke alarm system, that's really distracting as you try and fall asleep. The last time we stayed here, almost exactly 7 years ago to the day, we had a wonderful experience, so this is a real bummer. Thankfully this is a short trip! read more

Attended a wedding here this weekend and everything went great. The rooms were a little small but the extras like free coffee in the morning helps out. Stayed here for 11 days on business trip. Accommodation was adequate for the price. If you are gold member or higher, breakfasts buffet is free. Otherwise, $12.95 per person. Weekday waitstaff was pretty attentive and accommodating. Weekend was less than desired. Cooked to order options were great and self serve options were great as well. Hotel housekeeping would be zero stars. Only picked up and exchanged towels. Very rarely vacuumed. Only changed sheets when I dated them. Empty toilet paper roll was left empty for 3 days. Decent. Recently renovated HGI. Windows do not open so the rooms can feel very stuffy. Lots of other similar hotels located in the same corporate park. Downtown Frederick is 10 minutes away. The downtown area is historic and charming but it appeared as if most of the people in and around the Market St. area has substance abuse problems, sad, but not as bad as Salt Lake City, UT. read more

So only 4 stars because 5 stars goes to a real 5 star hotel. But for the Hilton Garden Inn, this little hotel was just awesome! I stayed here for five weeks straight (no going home on weekends), and the staff was beyond incredible. I really felt like family here and frequently commented that I felt like I was living in a sit com. I was also here during Hurricane Sandy and the hotel lost power for about 24 hours. There are some lessons learned, hopefully, in that the hotel will purchase a backup generator. We had no lights in the stair wells or hallways. My colleagues and I walked down the halls saying "Redrum"...it really did feel like a scene from the Shining. That said, the staff was amazing! They went to another hotel to bring in hot coffee for everyone and filled the breakfast bar so we could eat whatever food remained. While I stayed here, and when the power was on, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met. They offered to make meals for me according to my preferences and let me order things that weren't on the menu. Each morning, I blazed through the breakfast bar like a white tornado and the staff had a check for me to sign without asking many questions. I literally put oatmeal in a coffee cup, grabbed a piece of fruit, and was on my way. Since they were not charging me for the breakfast (Hilton Honors), it wasn't a big deal if I had one egg, or a full blow brunch. In the evenings, we hung out in the lobby by the fireplace. It was very comfortable and the fireplace made it feel very warm and inviting. The fresh baked cookies at the desk each night were my downfall, a nice touch, but I have no willpower so it was a good thing I had nothing else to do in the evenings but go to the gym. I can't really rate the gym because I joined the globo gym around the corner and was able to use a full fitness gym. As far as hotel gyms go, it was small and clean and the equipment appeared to be in working order. The hotel offered free WiFi but I had a jet pack so I didn't need the service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay somewhere with great service. read more

First and foremost the staff here were incredibly patient, and really helped towards making my stay there for a wedding a banner weekend all around. Front desk chap both days was on his game and our room was good to go from the moment we stepped in. The beds were fantastic, and I usually have difficulty falling asleep in beds that aren't mine. Well made and an exceptionally clean room, top marks to the maid service. What made this so great is that on Saturday and Sunday night the hotel was incredibly accommodating to my friends and I. Saturday we kept the bar open easily 2 hours after it was supposed to close. Two weddings had wrapped up that night and we all kind of gathered around dancing and laughing and generally being in good spirits. It was a blast! We were not exactly quiet either, so incredibly patient on their part. Sunday night (It was Memorial Day weekend) we returned from our wedding and gathered once again in the lobby for shenanigans. We were around until at least 12:15am when the night watchmen came and told us we had to take it down a notch (totally understandable). But prior to that we ate left over BBQ, laughed, and danced once again. I've never been to Frederick before, even though I went to school outside Baltimore, but I loved it and the Hilton was grand and accommodating beyond belief. I would happily stay here again if I was passing through the area. Don't look for great views since in the middle of a shopping/hotel area, Room was clean and comfortable. In all a very good time with three exceptions. Water continuously ran if bath tub. A lot more than a drip. I let the front desk know that it did not bother me, but it was wasting their water and energy.. They took care of it by tightening the knob that controlled the water so much I could hardly move it. No newspaper on weekends in the Lobby. I like my crossword. No Continental breakfast on weekends. $11.95 for what looked like a great breakfast buffet and cooked to order eggs. I can't eat a full breakfast in the morning. We stayed here for a week. We were downstairs in a suite. Our room was large and had two televisions and it had good lighting. The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was courteous. I enjoyed the variety of food and the chef did a fantastic job of cooking omelettes. During our stay, the hotel lost hot water for several hours due to an unexpected pipe break. The hotel offered their guests a choice either a free room or Hilton points. I thought the hotel managed the pipe break incident pretty well. We plan to return to this hotel again. read more

The Occasion: Was in town to visit from San Diego and stayed for 2 nights. The Place: Not familiar with the location, but this place was right around the corner from a shopping plaza! The lobby was clean. The Staff: Awesome staff! Especially the folks in the dining area. I sat at the small bar area and had a nice conversation with the staff. Very friendly! The Room: Stayed in a standard room with a king size bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. During my stay, couldn't hear any loud disruptive noises at night. Which is a big plus for me. There was a big sized flatscreen tv in the room along with a fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Good size bathroom and stocked with Neutrogena toiletries. On the nightstand, there was a nice multi-plug outlet and slots to plug in your USB cords! Good quality WiFi service in the room. I had forgot to pack a razor on my trip and mentioned it to the staff. They were able to furnish one for me. Very nice! I'll be coming back if I'm in town again. read more

I stayed 2 nights in a suite and everything was so clean, the staff was so nice and the complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning was a huge plus, even though we had a mini keurig in our room. There are a lot of hotels in the area and I am so glad we picked this one. The only downside to the block of rooms we reserved was that the block expired a month before the wedding so everyone who wanted the group rate couldn't wait till the last minute to book. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the level of customer service at the Hilton Garden Inn Frederick. Working with the staff leading up to the event was a breeze and they were so accommodating the entire wedding weekend. We also toured the nearby Marriott's during our research phase and the Hilton Garden Inn was not only the nicest hotel in the vicinity in terms of decor and comfort but they also offered the lowest rate per night rate. read more
