I just paid $14 / day for wifi at the Hilton Inner Harbor - that's completely absurd - so, the first thing I did is come to yelp to write a bad review of these opportunists. I'm here for a wedding, so we have a (slightly) 'reduced' rate, but of course they screw you by not extending free wifi, like they would for a normal guest (or like any other decent hotel would under all circumstances). Unconscionable. read more

What kind of modern day hotel doesn't have free wifi? I could go to a cheap motel and even they would have free wifi. Free Internet is no longer a luxury to be paid for. It's amenity that should be offered by all hotels now. read more

My husband and I stayed in this Hilton for two nights recently, and usually experience a perfect stay at Hilton properties, but this was not on the top of the list! The lobby is gorgeous, and being connected to the convention center was nice, but the room was small, we had warm to cold water from the shower both days, an awful showerhead! Its very pricey, and although my husband requested an upgrade, it was mediochre to say the least! We lost tv service for a few hours, and we were offered nothing to compensate for the inconvenience. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms, and in order to have a full meal, you are forced to leave the building and use the connector to the adjacent building in the convention center. Some of the staff were unfriendly, and we will not be looking to stay at this location in the future. You have to pay for internet and parking which added to our frustration! read more

The hotel is great but check your bill. First they sent a bill that made no sense showing a refund when my discover card was billed two different charges totaling over $700. I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to get it sorted out. Total incompetence. You're a hotel and bill people daily and have people who split rooms. How hard can this be? read more

Stayed in many Hiltons throughout the country. This is probably the most poorly run Hilton I have stayed at for many reasons. 1) We got into hotel late, woke up next morning and only 1 towel for wife and I. I booked the room for 2 adults. This was the first minor problem so we weren't really that frustrated about it. Called front desk. 2) The coffee maker leaked all over and only filled up about 1/4 of cup. Called front desk. 3) My wife and I left hotel for several hours so they can clean up room and address issues. When we came back, we discovered nothing was touched yet. Room finally got cleaned up around 3pm. 4) Finally called front desk to discuss situation with manager and discovered the hotel manager was gone all weekend. None of the hotel staff wanted to discuss the problems we were having. 5) The digital key disappeared as an option via Hilton app. We went back downstairs late at night to retrieve physical key and when I asked if somebody can show us where we can get digital back, nobody was able to help. 6) When it rained around 7pm the cable television did not work. Sweet! This pretty much sums up the bigger problems we had. The hotel's proximity to ballpark is great but too many cons vs. pros. Not a good experience. read more

Stayed here a night to catch an Orioles game and go to the Aquarium in the morning. I chose this hotel because of its location and in that respect it didn't disappoint. Right next to the stadium and the room had a view right into the stadium. Parking is a whole different issue. I'm not gonna complain about the price. You're in a city and your gonna pay. I arrived at 3 and there was a 7 o'clock game. Apparently they use the parking garage for game parking so after we got into the garage and along with numerous others couldn't find spots I was told we would have to go to another hotel a few blocks away and park. I asked if it made a difference that I was staying there and not just parking for the game and was told it didn't. I said I'll valet then. I know they offered valet parking. I was told they aren't valet parking today. Ok, so oh she to park a few blocks away, and walk our luggage and two kids to the hotel. Nice. I've now been in this rather small parking garage for about 15 minutes because there are cars all over trying to get out because there is no parking. Fortunately it took long enough for one of the attendants to find me and tell me they found me a spot in the upper level. Ok, finally parked. Ok. Outta the car. Checked in fairly quickly. Got to the room and it was fine. Pretty much as pictured on the website with a little more wear. Certainly nothing to complain about. Spent about 20 minutes in the room and then took the trek to the stadium. Literally a 4 minute trip from room to stadium. Perfect. Caught the game. Back to the room. Showers and bed. Bathroom was nice. Air conditioning nice and cold and the hotel was nice and quiet. I know this because I'm not a strong away from home sleeper and was pretty much up all night. Got up at 8. Showered again. Checked out, And took the walk to the Aquarium and Inner Harbor area. Short easy walk, about 15 minutes. Got back around 3 paid our parking and were on our way. For our purposes the hotel worked really well. Didn't spend much time there. Didn't have room service. Didn't go to their bar. Checked out the gym and pool area and it looked nice but we didn't actually use either. read more

Great hotel and location with view of Camden Yards from many rooms. Nice rooms, nicer amenities/options. It is expensive, but considering prime location reasonable. It is walking distance to most of the more popular attractions in Baltimore. One complaint was no rooms with two queen beds only doubles. Only other complaint is that we were not able to hook up to WiFi. In order to get it free, you must enroll in HHonors program. We did so, and could not get it to link/work. Also, prepare to pay for parking - if it's busy traffic, they valet is worth the extra 12$ a night. read more

I always look forward to coming to this hotel, service is professional and excellent. Room has always been ready early, clean and exactly what I asked for. No complaints. Love it here. read more

This hotel is not perfect.. could use some upgrades and it could be cleaner. However, the staff were very helpful to me. I got really sick on my 2nd day there and they sent someone up to check on me. A call would have been a nice touch but I actually had a knock on the door with an offer to get me anything that I might need. For that, this hotel is A OK in my book. read more

Although this is a nice hotel they charge you for literally everything. 25$ for an empty fridge in your room, crazy prices for parking, 10$ just for basic wifi to check only your email!! Then they told us we get a continental breakfast and when we tried to go they informed us it was only for guests staying in the luxury suites. But we could go across the street and pay for breakfast! I would never stay at this Hilton ever again! read more

Thought this would be a great hotel, since it was relatively new. Tthe first person who checked me in was very helpful and cheery, despite it being almost midnight. They had a power outtage in the lobby, so it was odd to see Coleman lanterns on the lobby desk. I was a little leary about the place since I read one report on TripAdvisor.com about one bed bug incident, and when I got into my hotel room, I was on the cell phone and went to the bed and saw a curious tiny brown bug crawling around on the pillow. Needless to say I was freaked out, so I called the front desk and the lady who answered did not sound surprised, and in fact sounded annoyed that I was calling about this. She switched me to another room and sent up the bellhop to take me there with my suitcase. I asked the bellhop if he knew what bed bugs looked like and he was also rude and said "well what do you expect? Have you been watching the news? They're everywhere on the east coast now." This did not instill confidence in me as far as whether they did or did not have a problem with these little bugs. I did not sleep well the rest of my stay there, almost sleeping with my eyes open. The housekeeping staff were great, I did not have an issue with them. read more

A few friends and I stayed at the Hilton for Otakon this past weekend 7/24 - 7/26 and found it to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We were informed that the room we had booked would have a refrigerator only to find out when we entered the room that we were lied to. When we walked down to the front desk to see why we didn't have one, the staff at the desk told us they were out and couldn't do anything about it. We specifically purchased cold foods because we were going to have a refrigerator only to have that food spoil. We will not be staying at this hotel again even if it is connected to the convention center. The outlets in the room were blocked by various furniture and with multiple people outlets are a necessity. We would rather walk and have a better hotel than have a short walk with a hotel that goes back on what they say when we book. We were also upset that because we were told about the refrigerator issue that our parking would be comped and it wasn't. Will not stay here again. read more

Let me start by saying this has been the worst hotel stay I have ever had - I usually don't complain much, but there are simply too many problems here to deal with. I was able to check in early around 2:00PM with only a short line - The clerk at the front desk was friendly and the lobby looks nice on first glance (There are problems everywhere though - The front doors don't even shut correctly). The bellman and Valets are really hit or miss here - Sometimes there attentive and nice and sometimes they pay no attention to anyone else and are lost in their own conversation. I was first assigned room 433. I was unable to get the A/C to work at all and whenever I tried to turn on the fan it made a horrible noise. This room backs up directly to three separate elevators and the noise is basically constant. I was unable to take a nap or get any work done because of this noise. In addition the room looks out onto the roof of the building - Which is covered in weeds. This room is supposedly a "Ballpark View" - Meaning you can see the lights of Camden Yards - That's it. I was really going to try and tough it out in this room - But things kept getting worse. I couldn't get two of the lights in the room to turn on. The plug on the light on the nightstand did not work (Which is the only plug near the bed to charge your phone with). One of the phones in my room did not work at all. They do have a nice tabletop plug-in for the TV - Except the HDMI receiver did not work. Amazingly this hotel does not have a minibar or fridge in the room (Transparently you can rent one - For a fee). The room in general was very beat up with lots of scratches and marks on the furniture and stains on the carpet. It also looks like the carpet had not been vacuumed in some time - Especially considering the amount of crumbs, lint, and dust that I found everywhere. The comforter on one of the beds had a few stains on it (Luckily I was in a room with two). I did have a chair - But it was very beat up and dirty. After all this I went back to the front desk and asked to be transferred. As I mentioned earlier I was really trying to tough it out - I had thought about approaching the desk several times - But every time I went down the lines were ridiculously long. Eventually the lines diminished and I went up and asked to switch rooms due to the noise - The clerk switched me to room 419. It is farther away from the elevator and there was much less noise - Which was a slight improvement. This room still locks out onto the weed filled roof. It's also very dirty and beat up - It need a new coat of paint and new carpeting. There was no paper and no pen in the room - And for some reason no chair either. I had to fix the TV (Power Cord from the Back had Somehow popped out) - Although the HDMI console in this room did in fact work. The plug on the lamp on the nightstand still doesn't work. The light in the corner again did not work initially (I eventually moved the plug from the top to the bottom socket on the outlet and it miraculously works). I tried to watch a little TV - But unfortunately my connection kept cutting out and showing up as "No signal" or just freezing. There's some sort of convention currently going on and I have to say they are just the worst behaved and rudest guests I've ever experienced as a group. Unfortunately I had to extend my stay in Baltimore another night and reluctantly agreed to stay here - My stay has not improved at all. I attempted to use their remote printing option - But unfortunately the keypad attached to the printer was not working - I though maybe I had to log into the computer in their business center but I was still unable to print (And had to pay $6.95 for the privilege to find this out). The business center is pretty run down (The door literally has tape on it to fix it and doesn't actually lock). There is a small gift shop here with ridiculous prices - They charge $3.49 for a 20 ounce diet coke. There are vending machines on each floor - Which still charge you $3.00 - You can pay by credit card. I needed to have some laundry done - I put a few items in the bag provided which of course broke in my hands as I was carrying it downstairs. I dropped off some laundry to the front desk around 4:00AM - With a promise that it would be returned to my room by 7:00PM (Dropoff had to be made by 8:00AM for a 7:00PM return) it is now 7:30PM and my laundry has yet to be returned and I have not received any sort of phone call. My key stopped working on the second day and I had to go the front desk and ask for another one - The clerk this time was not nearly as friendly and was a bit flustered that I did not have my ID on me (I had just gotten locked out of my room and didn't think to bring it with me). Elevators are often crowded and you often have to wait in the lobby to get one. Housekeeping was talking very loudly in the early morning the second day as I was trying to sleep and I was also awoken by a knock asking when I was going read more

This was one of the worst experiences in customer service I have experienced in a Hilton Hotel. It started with our family's arrival on Friday night for a weekend Irish Dance Competition in the hotel. We had booked 2 Double beds months ago for me, my and our 14 year old son and 15 year old daughter. Come to find out that they gave away our room and did not have the room we requested. The night manager, Brett was accommodating but only had a king room to give us. My daughter ended up on a pool lounge chair and my son slept on couch cushions we got from the exercise room. Bret did not charge us for the room that night and also gave us free breakfast but since my daughter was there for her first regional championship this did not help her get a good night's rest before the competition. The next morning at 8:30 I received a call from the front desk saying they had a double room for us and that they would put a priority on moving us that morning. They even said they would call my cell phone as soon as my room was ready. Well that did not happen. I went down to the front desk 4 times during the day, talked to the desk manager, Jeanine and even called the hotel manager, Mike on why it was taking so long to move us to a new room. We did not receive a call and it was almost 3 o'clock when I went down again to find out my room had a block on it and could not be released until the front desk got permission to give it to me. Even though I explained I wanted to move into a new room and get my daughter settled in for her competition as quickly as possible, no one took ownership to try and resolve the problem. It may be they were overwhelmed or perhaps that they had a full hotel so what is one disgruntled customer. Whatever the reason, I could not wait to get out of this hotel. If this is the flagship Hilton in Baltimore, then it is a beautiful ship staffed by a lousy crew at the management and front desk. read more

This place is great if you're looking for convenience to Camden Yards, but if you're looking for a typical Hilton experience, this place is NOT it. From the minute I pulled up to the driveway, it was a nightmare. The only time I enjoyed myself in Baltimore this trip was when I was actually out of the hotel! I literally pulled up to the driveway and was turned away by a rude parking attendant. I was told because I was not with the gala going on there that I had to park 4 blocks away and walk with all my luggage back to the hotel to even be able to check in. Then, it took at least 45 minutes, if not more, to check in, even as an HHonors member. The kicker was room service. I waited for 45 minutes before someone even answered the phone and then when someone did finally pick up, I was asked to wait longer and that the wait time would be at least an hour and 45 minutes. I'm not normally one to complain, but after everything I experienced within this hotel, I went down to the front desk and spoke to the rep. I was told that I would be contacted by the manager in the next 10-15 minutes. Needless to say, it's been 3 hours since that interaction and not a single word from the manager! I will NEVER stay here again... The view isn't worth the aggravation, nor the price of a cab!!! read more

Awful!! The carpet is so nasty I don't even want to walk on it with shoes on. If they weren't going to clean it (apparently ever), someone could have at least vacuumed it. There are pieces of candy on the floor! The upholstered chair is so seedy, worn out and old, I am afraid to touch it, much less sit on it. The bed has no spread, only a duvet that is covered by a sheet and no fitted sheets, just flat sheets that are very loosely tucked under the mattress. I'm very worried they're going to come off during the night and I'll be sleeping on the bare mattress. The only saving grace is the bathroom, which appears to have updated and is clean. I went to the restaurant for lunch, waited 15 minutes for a server to come take my order, waited another 45 minutes for a very paltry salad to be served, and had to take the bill up to the servers' station myself to pay. There are only two working accessible outlets to charge devices. I could go on. We definitely will be checking availability at the Marriott across the street when my husband gets here tomorrow! read more

Attention Hilton General Manager: You have a great employee, Marcus, on your team. I stayed here for the #NAPO2012 Conference last week - Big thanks to Marcus, the bar tender on the 18th floor Club Lounge - I absentmindedly left my iphone on the table, and Marcus found it shortly after I left. The phone was password protected, but Marcus did notice a banner text message came into the phone from the person I was sharing my room with - and while Marcus followed hotel policy by turning the phone into hotel security immediately, he also took the EXTRA initiative to find out what room the person texting me was staying in - and then called that room to see if the person texting me could let me know the phone was at hotel security. As it happened, I answered the phone and Marcus told me he had found the phone before I even realized I had lost it. Wow, that's above and beyond. Saved me a huge amount of stress and time calling around trying to figure out if someone found it and where in the hotel I could go to get it. Thank you Marcus!! Beyond this exemplary staff member, other employees were pleasant & reception desk helpful. The Hilton Baltimore food was surprisingly good & the salad greens were really fresh & had great variety -I recommend the crab cakes & any of the salads. The rooms are almost new, beds comfortable and the wireless internet has decent speed even with a hotel full of info junkies. Also, I love that we could walk across the street using the skywalk & convention center also accessible with the glass covered skywalk. I'll be back. read more
