As soon as we stepped foot in the front doors we were hit with the strong chlorine smell from the pool. We had booked at this location specifically because we were excited about the pool. Check in was easy enough as well; staff was straightforward, but helpful. As we started to make our way to the elevator we realized one was out of order, we got on the one that was still in working condition and I realized the subtle warmer temperature difference between the hallways and the elevator. We find our room and get settled in. I hate to complain about something so minuscule, but it's 2026 why am I paying almost $400 for a weekend stay at a hotel and they can't even provide me with a roku tv or any smart tv so I can actually make use of the appliance?? I hardly know anyone who watches just the cable channels. Later on that same day we decided to check out the pool before they locked it up for the night. As we follow the pungent smell of chlorine down to the main floor, we find the pool area. The pool only went to 4.5 ft, which I guess I can't complain too much about. The jacuzzi is pretty small and can probably comfortably fit three people before everyone's knees start rubbing together. Entering the pool I had high hopes, even though the strong smell was making me a tad bit dizzy. After getting splashed in the face, I realized just how irritated my skin was getting from the chlorine, I'm no pool expert or anything, but I've never had my eyes and face burn so intensely from a hotel's pool. I can understand the irritation of getting the water directly in your eye, however i wasn't splashed in the eyes much at all and yet my eyes almost looked blood shot. I don't know, but if I had children I wouldn't have wanted them anywhere near in vicinity. The jacuzzi wasn't any better, I couldn't last more than 5 minutes of the chlorine steam hitting me in the face. Other than that, I had to go directly to guest services to restock some things we had needed in the room because I had called the front desk twice on multiple occasions politely asking for more towels and whatnot. They would proceed to tell me they were gonna send someone up with my stuff, hours would go by with no knock on the door from the room attendants and no check back call from front desk making sure I had gotten what I needed. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my stay thankfully, I just think it's crazy to have to pay all of this money if I'm not getting great service and a safe environment for me to leisure around in.

The lobby was packed with families checking in -in addition to waiting for the bell hop. Our room was on the 10th floor. We had a view of the baseball field(room 1019). The view was the outfield. Next time we will choose a room on the higher end 1030+ for a view of the stadium to see home plate. The hotel is adjacent to the Convention Center connected by a walking bridge. Conference rooms were comfortable and spacious, food was great , escalators were always working!!!

Nearly every staff member was nice and said hello when they passed me in the hallways. The gym was small but clean with newer equipment. The free weights had no rust and they had a decent range of different weights. The have iced water in the gym and in the lobby, but no ice machines unfortunately. You can either call the front desk to have ice brought to your room or I just asked for a cup of ice from the cafe or bar once in a while. The best part is the location. You can take long walks around the lake but you can also walk to grab things from Whole Foods or visit multiple good restaurants... all within a 5 min walk. Even the mall is just across the main road (although it's better just to drive across) If you don't want to walk there's an entire restaurant in the hotel, along with the cafe and the bar. I was really surprised by the quality of the breakfast. Even the continental, which is typically used at other hotels to say "this is basic and not very good", was delicious. I tried the avocado toast as well and that was equally good. This was one of my better Marriott stays. I will definitely be booking again.

Pros: Location was amazing…read more Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was decent. The view was great. Cons: The rooms are in need of an upgrade. When I first entered the room I noticed it smelled pretty musty. Luckily the windows have a small section that opens. I thought I could open that and air out the room while I went to get dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't help at all. The carpeting and furniture are so gross looking I imagine the smell is coming from that and the window curtains but not really sure. The wallpaper is peeling off but as I was leaving I saw they were peeling it off in the lobby so hopefully they are working on replacing that. Water pressure is okay. If they replaced the carpet and furniture (or at least steam cleaned it) I think that would make a huge difference.

This was, without question, the worst hospitality experience I have ever had…read more On March 31, 2026, I booked and fully prepaid over $1,500 for a King room for July 17-20 through Expedia. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived one day late, at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 18. When we arrived, I was told that the hotel had marked our reservation as a "no-show" and given away our room, despite having already confirmed our stay on Expedia. What is particularly frustrating is that no one from the hotel attempted to contact me or Expedia before canceling and reselling a reservation that had been paid for in full. Throughout the entire weekend I was supposed to be staying there, my Expedia reservation still showed as active and so was unable to get a refund for the insurance portion of my payment. I understand that the hotel may have considered us a no-show. However, I find it extremely difficult to understand why a fully prepaid reservation would be canceled without making even a basic attempt to contact the guest or the booking agency. If a hotel chooses to accept reservations through third-party sites such as Expedia, guests who use those services should receive the same level of consideration and professionalism as guests who book directly. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled made me feel as though our reservation mattered less simply because we had booked through Expedia. I was repeatedly told to contact Expedia and that the hotel would do nothing to help. One employee even smirked while telling me this. The lack of empathy was incredibly disappointing. When I asked what we were supposed to do, given that every hotel, motel, and other lodging option within roughly 18 miles appeared to be sold out, no meaningful assistance was offered. I stood at the front desk quietly crying while politely asking for help, and no one made any real effort to find a solution. One young woman at the front desk was genuinely kind and compassionate, and I appreciated her treating me like a human being during an extremely stressful situation. Unfortunately, that was not representative of the overall experience. I have significant health issues and had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and instead we were forced to stay at the only property we could find, in an area where the hotel itself was gated because of safety concerns in the surrounding neighborhood. I did not feel comfortable staying there, but we had no other choice. What makes this even more frustrating is that when I later checked this hotel's website, rooms were still showing as available. That reinforced my feeling that this situation could have been handled very differently. This was not simply a matter of a policy being applied. It was the complete lack of communication, empathy, and willingness to help that made this experience so upsetting. Policies are one thing, but basic customer service should not disappear when something goes wrong. Afterward, I looked through the hotel's other reviews and was disappointed to find similar complaints from other guests. That makes me concerned that this may be a recurring issue rather than an isolated mistake. I sincerely hope management takes a serious look at how prepaid third-party reservations are handled and, just as importantly, how guests are treated when problems arise. No guest should spend over $1,500 on a fully paid reservation and leave feeling dismissed, embarrassed, and completely abandoned. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

If you've stayed at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor or other Marriott properties before, you pretty much know what to expect here. Nothing particularly fancy or surprising, but it's comfortable, clean, and gets the job done. Not that I really care, but typically upon check-in, they will recognize your status, but they did not this time. I had to ask to ensure my Marriott number was associated with this reservation as when they didn't mention anything to me, I was concerned it wasn't for some reason. The location worked really well for us. Inner Harbor is about a 15-20 minute walk, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards is only about 10 minutes away. Just keep in mind that you are in downtown Baltimore, which unfortunately isn't the nicest area. We generally felt safe during our stay, though. After the Saturday night game, there were plenty of baseball fans walking back to the various nearby hotels, so we definitely weren't the only people out and about. There is no onsite parking, but they do offer valet service. You simply pull up in front of the hotel entrance and they'll take care of the rest. However, here's a little money-saving tip: the parking garage they use is literally across the street. You can park there yourself for roughly half the price of valet. Unless you really don't want to deal with parking your own car, I'd skip the valet and save the money. Our room was nice and spacious, with a mini fridge, although there was no safe. One slightly odd thing is that you have to put your keycard into a slot inside the room for the lights to work. So if you leave the room and take your keycard with you--as most normal humans would--you'll be coming back to a dark room. They offer free breakfast, which is perfectly fine as long as you keep your expectations in check. You'll find cereal, oatmeal, breads and bagels, sausage, yogurt, a waffle maker, and mini egg omelettes. There's also coffee along with OJ, and apple juice that comes from a machine dispenser. Unfortunately, the OJ was out when I tried to get some. There was plenty of seating in the breakfast area, so we never had an issue finding a place to sit. There's also a bar if you want to grab a drink and hang out in the evening. Overall, we had a good stay. The location is the biggest selling point, especially if you're visiting Camden Yards or Inner Harbor and want to walk rather than deal with parking. The hotel itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a SpringHill Suites--comfortable, reasonably spacious, and nothing overly fancy. We'd stay here again if we were coming back to Baltimore for a game or another downtown visit.
