Hillwood Park is a large park tucked away from the street and neighboring Einstein Middle School. There is a big grassy field which I have used for running, soccer, and launching rockets. There are also amenities for playing baseball and a water fountain near one of the fences on the field. One thing to be careful about if you play ball sports such as soccer on the field is the ball not going onto the Einstein Middle School field/track.
The parking lot is large and one side looks out over the grass playing field, making it convenient if it is your snack week and you need to get the snacks from the car. A small restroom building is open depending on the season. A port-a-potti restroom was stationed near the parking lot, that one was open. When I visited on Sunday the 17th of May 2020 the playground was roped off, I am guessing this is related to COVID-19.
Picnic tables are interspersed throughout the park and have a variety of views. A portion of the park is dedicated to the Hillwood Park Wetland and a few signs provide information about the water flow, plants, and wildlife in the area. A fun place to explore be it to learn about the ecology of the area and/or for sporting activities. read more
