My college-aged daughter who was in NC for school brought her CRV in because the Check Engine Light…read moreand a couple other indicator lights were on. She called to tell me that Womble ran a diagnosis and recommended an oil change and replacement of three parts related to the solenoid. They said this is a common problem with CRVs. My research suggested that issues with these parts could lead to engine knocking, reduced acceleration, reduced fuel efficiency, rough idling, etc. She was experiencing none of that, and that was conveyed to Womble. My research also suggested that solenoid issues are rare in CRVs, and solenoids can often last the life of the vehicle. I called my mechanic in Pittsburgh, and he said if the oil was low or contaminated, it could trigger the indicator lights, and he would start there before throwing three new parts at the problem. We had Womble do the oil change, but they also charged us over $150 for a diagnosis fee. It's been almost three weeks now, and my daughter has since driven the car 14 hours round-trip with no engine issues, and the indicator lights have not returned. I called Womble to request a refund on the diagnosis fee, which I believed to be unnecessary and excessive since a simple oil change fixed the problem. The owner told me he had documented that my daughter said the engine was making noise, even though I have a documented text exchange with her from that day where she specifically said there was no noise and that, other than the warning lights, the car seemed normal. Then the mechanic who worked on the car told me they "inferred a solenoid noise" based on what they were seeing (How in the world can one infer a noise?? It's either there or it isn't). When I asked for a refund on the diagnosis fee, I was told that they pay tens of thousands of dollars on diagnostic equipment, so they can't work for free, and that slavery was outlawed in the '60s (an ignorant, ill-informed comment that I found highly offensive). The mechanic said I was not remembering our original conversation correctly, but he remembers our white CRV clearly (the car is actually silver). I had my daughter choose this business because they generally had positive reviews online, but I feel she and I were taken advantage of. It is my opinion, and the opinion of my personal mechanic, that they could have determined in just a few minutes that the oil needed to be changed and recommended that we start there rather than incurring additional diagnostic fees.

Every single time I get in it, and step on the gas, it just brings the biggest smile! I will NOT trust anyone else to do any kind of engine work, or maintenance, then DOC himself!! You want your Mopar done right, look no further. Don't even bother wasting your time going to anyone else!! DOC!! Thank you for keeping "The Dame" on the road. Thank you for all the long hours, time, and effort, in making "The Dame" what she is today!! From my Google Review...Well, what can I say. I took my 2014 Dodge Durango RT to Dr Mopars High Performance after shopping endless hours with performance shops from NC, SC, to VA. Not quite sure how I ended up here, but so glad I did. I had a blown head gasket on my Durango, that even regular repair shops didn't want to touch. So I decided on just doing a full engine rebuild. Everything new except the block, crankshaft, and heads. (The heads basically received everything new, and polished ports!) With a little bit of performance upgrades like cam, throttle body, headers, MDS delete kit, lifter and springs, catch can, coils. And I'm sure I missed something in the list?! Also received a full transmission fluid and filter change. Well, she is back in the driveway, and man oh man, does she roar. Well worth the wait. And 1/3 of the cost of all those huge performance garages. I will say this, Chris always returned ALL of my texts. He always kept me informed along every milestone. Did it take longer then your bigger shops? Absolutely it did. This is the beauty of small business, that's the fabric of our country. More then worth the wait, and cost!! Thank you Dr Mopar! https://maps.app.goo.gl/Hn7Mj4x81TJjfRm59

EDIT: Norris Automotive issued an apology on a review, after reading other reviews I do believe…read morethis to be a genuine mistake from them. I brought my car to Norris Automotive because it was local and my vehicle had to be towed. From the very beginning, this turned into one of the most frustrating and dishonest service experiences I have ever had. I was told my car was flooded, needed a tune up and a new battery. The estimate was already steep at $600, but since the car was already there, I agreed, thinking at least the work would be done properly. Then I get the call that car is ready, the total is now $705. Annoying, but I stayed hopeful that the extra cost meant quality work. I was wrong. I pick up my car, pay the bill, and the receipt says I was charged for new spark plugs and a new battery. That's it?? When I get home, I pop the hood and to my surprise, the same corroded battery is still sitting there. On top of that, my engine cover is now cracked, something that was not damaged when I dropped the car off. I call immediately. Ryan puts me on hold and comes back with, "If you come back tomorrow, we will put the battery in." No explanation. No apology. No accountability for charging me for work that clearly was not done. At that moment, all trust was gone. I would not trust this shop to put air in my tires. I told them I wanted my battery money refunded. Ryan says I have to bring my card back in. On the drive over, I notice I was also charged an environmental and supply fee, something I would understand if they had actually replaced and disposed of a battery, but they did not. When I walk in, Ryan tries to play it casual and asks for my card. I ask him directly, "So I am paying $500 for four spark plugs?" He looks me dead in the eye and says yes, $110 for the spark plugs and $290 for labor. Oh, you mean the same labor that was supposed to include installing the battery they never installed. Absolutely unbelievable. I also ask about the environmental fee, he only offers half back.. Wtf? This place charged me for work that was not done, damaged my vehicle, raised the price after the fact, and offered no reasoning other than it was "an honest mistake". So you admit you have no quality control? If you value your money, your car, and your peace of mind, do not go here. Receipts of initial battery charge and refund attached. Stay clear.
