I have an oil leak. They changed out a vvt solenoid and gasket. Charged me $940.58 and said it was…read morefixed. I seen the oil leak spot where I park at home looked wet one day and took it back. I told Scott it shouldn't take long to fix it and I'll stay until its fixed. Scott gets on the phone with the owner and in a smart*** tone says yeah this girl here says she put a cardboard box under her car and there's some fluid under it and she thinks it can be fixed in a few minutes. He tells the owner I'm staying with my car. The owner said he was on the way. Wolfe got it on the lift and was like yeah you leaking oil. The owner gets there and calls in a pvc washer and hose after looking at the leak. He replaces that no charge and says bring it back in when you got 100-150 miles on it so we can see if it's still leaking oil. I bring it back a few days later with 99 miles extra on it. I bring the UV dye and UV flashlight to pinpoint the exact leaking spot. Got it from Advance. They run it through and the owner Micheal Blackmon says its leaking from the timing wall and its a 4hr job. He tells me to call back in a few days because he has to look up the price online for that job. He wants $988 to fix what wasn't fixed in the first place. If you want criminals of Satan to take your hard-earned money, then go here. I reported them to the BBB

I've had nothing but great experiences with these men. They're the absolute best and I trust them 100%. They're always super busy, but take the time out of their day to give a helping hand or explain things to you. I was stuck on the side of the road and needed a new tire one night. Every place was closing and wouldn't answer their phones. Except these guys! They were more than willing to help. They stayed after hours and flagged me down when I was driving up to their shop with a smile on their face. Instead of being rude or upset, they were the opposite. They were so caring and considerate. The guy was telling me he'd want someone to do the same for his daughter who's around my age and help her out in a stressful situation. This last time I had an appointment with them. I needed an oil change and my transmission fluid changed out. They were super fast! They always answer when you need them. They're just a short phone call away. They don't make you feel stupid and are more than willing to help you out and explain things to you. I like them the most because they genuinely want you to be safe in a car that runs well. They don't BS with you and are upfront with information without overcharging you for anything. They're extremely intelligent and do the BEST work. I'm so glad we were referred to them. 100% recommend

Cope's Garage has been a High Point mainstay for many years...as long as I can remember actually…read moreand that goes back quite a few years. They have been in the same location on E. MLK Drive that whole time as well, formerly known as E. Kivett Drive. The Old Timers call it Cope's Garage but, the real name is Ronnie's Automotive. Ronnie is a great, happy guy that busts his butt to make sure your wheels stay on the road. Ronnie and his crew have done almost all my auto repairs and NC State inspections for well over a decade. Minor to major repairs including a simple ac relay replacement or something as major as an entire engine rebuild in a Ford Explorer or installation of a Japanese take-out motor in a Honda. They have also done exhaust/muffler work as well. No job too small and if Ronnie can't do it, he tell you. He'll also tell you where you can take it to get it done. I've always been pleased and sometimes frustrated at times with Cope's but, that in no way reflects the quality and honesty of the work performed. To understand where my frustration comes into play one will need to understand that this is a "good 'ol boys" garage and as such the pace at which things move there are what I call "Southern slow". Rest assured though, you will get a fair deal and won't be ripped off. That right there is gold in itself. If you are the type of person that is in a hurry, this garage might not be the place for you. However, if you are patient and understanding, you'll be rewarded with great repairs, done honestly and not over inflated...seriously, I do not think Ronnie charges enough sometimes. Jinx! I shouldn't even say that out loud! I've taken almost every car I have owned since the late '90's there. You should too.

I tend to only go to them for oil changes and never have any issues. I will say for other services they are on the more expensive end but they guarantee their work if you use their parts, however if you want to use your own parts they will accommodate but won't guarantee work. They replaced an alternator/starter for me and years later it still works great, if you have the extra money to spend they are a great option, however if you are more price conscious you may need to look into other shops.
