Had an issue with my older civic si that two other places could not resolve. Was fixed in one visit here. Very friendly, very honest, and knows their stuff. read more

The only auto Repair garage that I let work on my Honda Great garage and Great people Give It a try

I've lived and traveled around quite a bit to see the broad spectrum of auto industry services... and this is, hands-down, one of the best automotive services I've been fortunate enough to experience. Very transparent, friendly, and they don't push service recommendations on you like other places in town. They'll tell you if something needs your attention and work with you on what to do. I think tire repair is one of few things they don't do--(just double check). Basically, if they worked on other auto brands--I'd be servicing all my vehicles here without question. read more

These guys are very knowledgeable, friendly, and their prices are reasonable. They helped me out of a bind as well. Highly recommend!

Second time coming here... first time was a test. Not really but often times one really gets the feel for a place after more than one visit. I asked a guy I have worked with for decades where he gets his [specific make] car fixed. He highly recommended Triad Import Specialists. It turns out they're both Canucks which is a bond, but it doesn't hurt at all the Canadiens are known to be the nicest people around. Yes: even nicer that Southerners because the southern nice tends to be mostly outward. But I digress. Let's just say the the folks at TIS are super friendly. On top of that they only fix what's needed. Some people like to spend extra money just to be safe, but I like to fix what needs to be fixed and wait ok the rest. It's hard to find a mechanic like that, which is why I so greatly appreciate Triad Import. I had another quote for almost twice the price on the same job... but after paying a lot more to others and knowing it was costing me more, it's great to know that I can take my cars here and get the job done right and for a reasonable price. read more

They have performed many services on my 2007 Acura MDX. Among those include replacing a transmission switch, timing belt and water pump are just a few services done. With 124,000 miles all items repaired or replaced are from normal maintenance. They are part of the reasons I still owned my Acura and feel confident in driving it anywhere. I trust their service. Do you know the saying, If you can find an honest mechanic, he is worth his weight in gold, and gold prices are up! I have been around cars and mechanics my entire life and I know the difference between honest and skilled mechanics versus the ladder. If you are looking for a place that will treat you exactly how you would wish to be treated when you get car trouble's and get the most honest diagnosis and pricing on how to get you back on the road, head on over and ask for them to take a look at your car. Local, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and fair. read more

I have been going to Triad Import Specialist since they opened, Derek and his crew always do a great job in getting me in to diagnose issues and then fixing them in a timely manner. As a woman I don't feel like he over talks me or gauges my prices. They will always be my mechanic of choice. I recommend them to all my friends and family with foreign cars. When my sister got another car, she got one TIS could work on. And did I mention how nice everyone who works there is. read more

A friend of mine recommend Derek at Triad Imports Specialists to me two years ago. He said Derek and his team are friendly and honest people. Right on!!!! I have used this auto service for a timing chain, front brakes and vehicle inspections on Honda and Toyota vehicles. We have been VERY satisfied with the work and the honest, fair pricing that Derek provides. And I have recommended other friends to use his service. read more

We have been taking our vehicles to Dereck now for well over 6 years. We have since moved but I still drive an hour and half to have anything that needs to be done to Triad Import Specialist. I highly recommend! read more

Derek Ritter at Triad Import Specialists is the most professional and generous mechanic I have ever met. Fair, honest, thorough, extremely knowledgeable... everything one hopes from a mechanic. He's won multiple awards he would never talk about. I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else. 110% trust every time. HIGHLY recommend. read more

I have taken multiple vehicles to this shop over the years. They have treated me with respect and always take the time to help me understand what's going on when I have a problem with a vehicle. Would highly recommend. Friendly staff, excellent service, great price and the best part hardly any wait.

Great service and honest people with great workmanship. Nice and courteous people very knowledgeable about there work.

I have been driving a Honda for the last 9 years and I can say that my #1 mechanic has been the guys at TIS. I drive my car hard and fast and from brakes to timing belts, oil changes, inspections, engine mounts and all they've fixed it. MY Honda, a 2002, has close to 220K miles and still runs like a dream and I'm certain that's because of the care Derek and the other guys take with my car. They let me know what I need now as well as what I'll need in the future so I can plan my finances as well. I can always call and tell them what's going on and they'll give me their opinion as well as quote me a price. One time I was having an issue getting my car to turn on and stay on long enough to get in gear and Jason talked me through getting my car on and getting it to the shop from another city! That's customer service! i've had my timing bets done, 100k miles apart by them because their customer service won my loyalty. I've never once felt overcharged. This review is being written in light of this fact. I had my AC go out due to a radiator fan motor and was quoted $593 by a Honda dealership in MD where I live. I called Derek and he quoted me $220. I bought it back to Derek in NC. I spent less money driving 13 hrs round trip in gas + the cost of service! I also decided to go ahead and get my transmission services and that still had me spending less than $400 total. Their service is great and they have a nice waiting area with free wifi if you have to wait with your car. As long as I'm in driving distance, I'll be bringing my car back to Derek for all major service and I pick up and oil change too whenever I'm in town. Thanks guys! read more

I am writing this review 4 years after the fact; however, I would never recommend Triad Import Specialists to anyone. Ever. 1st, my car took a month to get back. When I got the car back, the back seat was trashed with fast food wrappers from - get this - Louisiana. The name of the fast food franchise is called "Izzo's", which means that someone took a nice road trip. For some strange reason, my steering fluid was low when I got the car back. I couldn't make this up if I tried. If I could have done it again, I would have documented the mileage on my car and taken pictures of the interior. Lessons learned. I would have also sought legal action. Maybe they favor certain customers over others, but I left livid after getting my car back. I wouldn't trust these people as far as I can throw them. Do yourself a favor and go to a trustworthy, reliable place. read more

This is the one place I feel comfortable by dropping off my car and just say fix it. We have used Derrick for years. Very honest and good prices read more

I have only one car and I need it everyday. I was having a problem with my brakes and made an appointment a week in advance. I carefully described my problem when I made the appointment and again with additional detail when I dropped off the car. The mechanic didn't look at the car until late in the day and found problems that he had not anticipated but that I had told him about twice. This entailed a mad scramble to round up additional parts. I had received a ride from a co-worker to pick up my car at closing time but it wasn't ready. They could not wait for me and there was no guarantee that my car would be completed that day. They stayed an hour late to finish the job and the repairs were good but the entire experience was stressful and unsettling. read more

Was not impressed. Dropped car off at 6:30 am after setting this up 2 days prior (was even told the 2 times that parts were delivered each day) & had to call around 2:30 for an update. Was told they hadn't had time to look at my car yet by the receptionist Haley, then told by Derek they needed at least an hour more to look at it but still wouldn't be able to do what may be needed done today because they wouldn't be able to get the parts & I would have to bring it back anyway if I chose to have it done. Needless to say, I went to pick my car up & received a call back from Derek later stating Haley overheard my friend mention Google reviews & he wanted to make sure I was happy. I told him I really wasn't & that i'd never taken my car anywhere before & had that happen. Then he proceeded to tell me how Jason had actually looked at it, spending an hour on it, what he pays him per hour, that he did do an adjustment on my wipers & how that hour wasn't charged to me. Was told too many different things & that brought up a red flag. Would not go back. read more
