I've been here on both Saturdays and Sundays, and it appears that Sunday is the better day and you need to arrive early per every place like this. Hours of operation here are pretty narrow for a place like this. The visit I just made here on a Saturday was a borderline disaster. The vast majority of booths were not open on a Saturday, being one of the major problems. What was open was for the most part not worth the drive. Many booths here are in major need of cleanup, with many simply having piles of trash in space that could be used to better organize merchandise. There were a few interesting booths that had trading cards and Pop Vinyls being among the better options here. One or two booths had produce, with others being setup for that empty. It appears almost all of the deli/meat booths were gone. Only one or two booths were serving prepared food, but there is a restaurant on site and a small food trailer outside. There is an enclosed portion with no heating/cooling outside of the main building, that mostly had vacant tables and booths, and one dealer that appeared to mostly have random items. I truly don't know what to do with Renninger's Farmer's Market, but it's in need of pretty drastic changes, and I don't know in its current condition if it will be here in a few years. My friend and I actually felt bad for the vendors as it appeared very few were making sales. Overall, skip this and go to Hometown or Green Dragon. Yes, the drive will be longer, but there are much better options at them.

I enjoyed listening and watching stuff come up for bid but found it confusing to know what was being auctioned. Apparently you have to register to get a number to bid. That is your number forever and ever amen. There is a lot to look at in the area where the auction is. The rest of the market was pretty large with outside vendors and several buildings. Some of the vendors were downright miserable in my opinion. There is a lot to see- a lot of vintage stuff some may consider junk. Very dirty-very dusty and very cheap in my opinion. Some areas were heaped with crap- so much so it was hard to make your way through some of the vendor areas. I noticed a lot of booths were unmanned. I'm not sure how you expect customers to purchase items when no one is available and the booths are abandoned. Plus a lot isn't even priced- I HATE that. They do have food available. I'm not sure I would eat there- but others seemed to enjoy it. I would go back but it's not a place I would go to often. The drive to get there is gorgeous for me.

This place has it all! I grew up not too far and was a regular at another market similar to this…read moreone. This spot is only open on Fridays but I was able to make it up from Washington, DC, after having a long weekend with a holiday. My family was totally into this spot. We easily could have spent all day here. Parking can get very busy. We ended up pulling into the grassy lot and walked about 10 minutes to the main market. You'll find everything from toys to crafts to antiques to junk and everything in between. The food is also fantastic. Come hungry. A hit for us was the pulled pork sandwich topped with cooper's sharp at the stand in the middle of the market by the actual auction. My kids never saw an auction and were transfixed. The atmosphere is lively and you'll see just about every type of person imaginable from locals to visitors from cities and other states!

I knew the Green Dragon is supposedly one of the largest flea markets on the east coast, but I was still blown away by the size of the place. There's a whole field of merchants in tents, along with... sheesh, I lost count... at least 5 other buildings. One of which is animal livestock auctions!! I want a goat so bad!! There are a bunch of food vendors, too. Our group decided on burgers. They were a hit. I left with a pound of "pan pudding" (also known as pork pudding, liver pudding) for a friend who loves it but cant find it in Baltimore. It's like scrapple, but has a different starch binding component. I've looked it up several times, trying to understand the difference and still don't really know. I love scrapple, pan pudding is okay. I also bought a dozen duck eggs. Tell me you don't love a good egg yolk... these are bigger. Jeremy says they have a slight gamey flavor but I didn't pick that up. I don't know that I'd buy them again, but they are really tasty. Lastly, I bought two pool noodle swords... for my wedding. We had jousting and swordfighting, on blow up horses and dragons... it was so much fun. Finding those swords was... well I didn't know such things existed, yet there they were, right in my path, waiting for me. Our friends left with a beautiful vintage croquet set. They paid $40 for it, only to get it home and find out its worth well over $400!! SCORE. We had a really great time. I'd definitely go back.

My son and I met to catch up on his adventures on the road and enjoy a sandwich together. We hit the market around 11, just as some of the vendors were switching over to lunch. We were able to sample some products while winding our way through a healthy crowd of people who would look at home in an upscale Target or antiquing in a small town on their way to their weekend lake house. By comparison, Dirk and I looked like roadies in some Viking Metal band sittingf in a corner with gyo and beef juice in our beards, but we enjoyed the experience AND the food. If you want the market, you can find curious culinary options from Nordic hot sauces [Pikku Piru] to gourmet mushrooms [Bennett Run]. Dirk chose a falafel from Grill & Gyro which was fat and delicious coming with fresh cut fries in a quantity too big to finish. I enjoyed a "Surrender the Fresh Dip" which was pricey but worth every penny for the tender, seasoned beef on a toasted roll with superb au jus. While I am used to buying my farmer's market pretzels from the Amish, I enjoyed a Foltz original pretzel, though I never understood the pairing of pretzels and lemonade so I declined that suggestion by the nice lady behind the counter. Regardless of what you crave, everyone is personable and passionate about their signature foods. They know it is a competitive market with so much to choose from, but I was happy to see so many people at various spots conducting themselves like regulars, just as happy to chat as have lunch with their favorite vendors. Parking is plentiful and the location is easily accessible just off of Chocolate Avenue It is clean and bright, inviting even in the tightly-packed center corridors that hide some of the more interesting kiosks and treats. My only complaint is the lack of seating. There's so much to choose from but not a lot of space to enjoy it. Dirk and I had to sit at a 4-seater and share with a family of 8 who packed themselves into a corner. Given that the market is only open Thursday to Saturday, plan for patience or go early for breakfast. I was able to sample some wares that were going off sale and they were delicious. I'll definitely be back.

My family and I split up to tackle the various vendors. While my family settled for sushi, Korean fried chicken wings, and bento boxes, I couldn't pass up Carmela's for a cheese steak with sharp provolone cheese and crab fries. We all shared anyway. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures of all the other food. It was glorious. Other than the wings, all the vendors were very quick to get the orders out. There were several eating areas which was helpful because I think we got there 30 mins before the dinner rush was coming in. The vibe is very nice. I grew up going to reading terminal market in Philly so having little markets like this around is always a delight. I hope the vendors do well because there's so many other vendors I'd like to try.

There are benches for resting in the foyer entrance. My party of three walked to browse the various merchants/ vendors and foods. My party of three visited this indoor food market where there were many options of pies, nuts, candy, pastries, baked goods, bread, pretzels, Amish quilts, but disappointedly I did not see any Amish wicker storage baskets. My desiderium was to purchase one large storage wicker basket with inner cloth lining, but to no avail as I am characteristically organized in both my living and workplace space environment. Or, purchase one large raffia storage box with lid. I also wanted the classic chocolate chip (no nuts) cookies, but to no avail. Surprising Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is open and operational on July 4th, 2026 holiday. Customer service is mediocre. There is a large souvenir gift shop in the lower level via schlepping one flight of stairs. It is not ADA accessible. There is no stair climber available either. Ergo, for the mobility challenged take caution and there is very low headroom in the stairwell. My party of three has always patronized to support local souvenir gift shops as tourists - past and present. Personally, I believe in patronizing brick and mortar local souvenir gift shops drives the local economic tourism. We are non-Pennsylvanians. The souvenir T-shirts are hugely extortionate priced at $19.99. This gift shop reminisce nostalgia of Hallmark stores for mugs, decorative pens, bookmarks, post cards, magnets, pins, printed recipe books, small journals, wall calendar year 2027, et al. The costume jewelry was also hugely extortionate priced $19.99. I freely walked the aisles to browse and circled back. There many home decor items of rural country flair. I purchased one post card of Amish horse buggy with a farm field $0.50, one Pennsylvania shape magnet $1.99, and one lighthouse shape coaster $2.99. I have a small collection of post cards from travels. I actually needed a coaster for my workplace desk as I am currently using a makeshift coaster of my own arts and craft creation. I love lighthouses for the long history, significance, contribution to navy and maritime industry, including aesthetic of nature scenic local landscape emitting a sense of peace. I did receive a sales receipt printed from a very dated cash register.
