Shhhhh! This tiny, out of the way store is my secret weapon in eating healthily. The variety of produce available is great and their prices are absolutely amazing. Also, their prices on deli meats and cheeses cannot be beaten. I've tried. Th rest of the store tends to be fairly standard to priced a little on the higher side, but it's worth it to support a small business and keep them open. I drive up here from York, if that tells you anything about the value. Beware, they don't take cards. You'll need cash or to use the onsite ATM. read more

I stopped at Bill's produce today. I got sweet potatoes turnips apples carrots red beets and several other items. At check out, I went to lift my bags, they were way too heavy. All items were in 3 bags. I told the clerk I couldn't lift them and asked for another bag. I thought he didn't hear me, so I repeated "they're to heavy I can't lift them. I need another bag. He said no, the bags are expensive and we have to fill them to the top. I couldn't believe it! I had to take stuff out of the bags so i could lift them into my cart , then put them back in and do the same when I got to my car. Ive shopped there for many years. The prices and quality are very good. I've been shopping here for years and have always been happy with my purchases. Especially the lunch meats and cheeses. Great prices and always fresh. All of the staff have always been so friendly and helpful. Except for one man. The past 4 times I have been there, he was so rude. I was treated like a thorn in his side. I have asked other customers in the parking lot. and they agreed. I'm starting to dread going there, but it's tough to feed a family with healthy choices and their prices really help. I hope his rudeness can be addressed because it is quite uncomfortable and I would really miss shopping there. read more

I have been going to Bill's Produce for many years. The proces are great. They can't be beat. Recently I have been shopping g in a Giant and Weis for Produce for a friend and had stickers shock at how much more the prices are. It is so nice to plan a 20 min drive and get such better prices at Bill's. read more

Many years ago at a networking meeting I used to attend, the sign company rep had a line, "a business without a sign, is a sign of no business". I thought it was catchy and it stuck with me all these years. Well, he must never have been to Bill's. Not only is there no outdoor sign, I don't even know if there is a sign inside - is there? Either way, everyone around here knows where Bill's is. They have some of the best deals you will find on produce. It's a rustic store, not a huge selection otherwise, but they have lots of basic grocery items, too. Note: the store is cash-only but they have an ATM onsite, just be prepared. This place is a lot like a local farmers market with some add on pantry and select frozen food grocery options. The selections can differ from time to time so you may see something one trip and something else the next which can be part of the fun experience. Produce is priced well and as long as you plan to buy what you are going to use that week, you are set. It's easy to want to over buy with their deals, however, know that the produce may go bad after a few days time. Cash cash cash!!! Bring your cash for payment to this place as they do not accept credit card. They do however have an ATM machine available to withdraw your cash. The staff is very friendly even with all the commotion of the crowds. Expect to wait in lines and be patient with the older crowds. You may have to wait for a cart to be available or you can use a basket to manage your way around the narrow aisles and the crowds easier. read more

Bill's is very popular because of the great prices. The selection keeps getting bigger, and bigger. I only go very early in the morning because of the crowds. They have a deli, bakery items, frozen foods, snacks, cheese and dairy and so much more. Great prices on Guers drinks also. read more

Do not buy your Christmas tree here. I made the mistake of thinking I purchased a bargain $20 tree, but within two days of being in my house, I realized how dry it was and I'm pretty sure it won't last until Christmas. I would offer 3+ stars for their other produce, in general. It doesn't always have a long shelf life, but it's well priced and good for heartier vegetables. read more

The produce is priced well however if you don't use it within 3 to 4 days after purchasing it it usually goes bad. Same with the deli items. They do make Subs at the deli. There are very good IF The person taking your order take the time to listen to what you want. read more

Bill's Produce is the place to go for all of your fruit and vegetable needs. The prices here can't be beat, and the quality of the produce is fantastic. There's also a deli at the register, which serves up some really good subs. The major problem with Bill's is that it's small and very overcrowded. Depending on the day and time you visit, you could very well walk into the store and barely have room to push your cart around. But if you strategize, you might find an ideal time to stop in and grab some fabulous, cheap produce. read more

There are definitely good and bad times to shop here. Later in the day the better. This place draws some ridiculous crowds for the size of it. The prices of the products definitely are reflected by the amount of people that shop here. Best produce and deli prices I've found anywhere in the area. There is definitely a need to be careful with your picks as some of the quality is somewhat less than you might normally find. Always has the best early-season corn on the cob. Since I live less than a quarter-mile away from here it's convenient for me to go there several times a day, not so for a lot of people. read more

I love shopping here. It literally cuts our grocery bill in half. Yes, some things are hit and miss but you just have to sort through that when you shop. I not only shop here for produce I also love their lunch meat prices. We have a family of 6 and on just 75 dollars a week I can pack lunches and feed the kids good fruit for their diet. read more

I always liked going to Bill's, all except today. I was putting my blueberries on the counter and 2 boxes fell ,not such a great disaster to me ,but to the cashier it was, she yelled " stop throwing them" not once but a few times. I offered to clean them up, once again you threw then on the counter. Even with the store being full of people, she truly made me look like a fool. Best yet after I left, a friend of mine was in the store and she was still saying it. To this cashier I hope you have a better day. read more

Overall not a bad experience. You have to be selective about the items you pick, lots of people constantly handling the produce, as the prices are low and the store is usually crowded. Good prices on deli items too. They also have raw local milk and honey. read more

I have been going to Bill's for a few years, and they have gone down, both in quality and attitude. I used to be able to find a few different organic versions of things there, but no longer. Since I live far away from the business, I have tried to coordinate bulk orders on some products, and have been sorely disappointed in their miscommunication involving what was required of me to keep this arrangement. After having an emergency one time when I could not come pick up product that could have been sold, and informing them as soon as possible, they stopped our agreement without telling me. I only found out after pressing the matter, and in a very passive aggressive way. I am now looking for anyone else within a "not to far" radius to travel to get the product. Great prices! The quality of the fresh produce is good but you have to make sure you're paying attention when you're selecting what you want or you might get something a little to ripe. The customers are very nice. The building is a little packed but manageable. The employees are brief and keep things moving during check out but don't expect any chit-chat they are busy and want to keep lines rolling. Overall for a family on a budget this is a great alternative to your typical grocery stores and wal*mart. I only spent $42 on an entire weeks worth of fruits and veggies which usually costs closer to $100. read more

Bill's definitely has cheap produce, but you have to use it fast. It is not of a high quality. I stick with spinach in bags, celery, and apples. Mushrooms are only good if you are using that day. They also have a stand at Hometown Market, but the quality is equally poor. Their fruit, except for apples, is not good. The workers at the Schuylkill Haven store are some of the surliest, unfriendly people in business. I do not know who sets the tone, but they are not friendly in the least. Don't go out of your way. If you do buy things, beware and right away. read more
