And Maddie, the young woman who performed my echocardiogram, was fantastic. She was professional, compassionate, and made what could have been a stressful experience much easier. Every one of these people made a difference for me today, and I truly cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend Mercy Medical Center. They took excellent care of me when I needed it most, and I am extremely grateful. When I asked if I could get a pillow for my wife and I, I was literally told to go look for it myself. None of the staff takes any initiative and the only way we have made progress through our visit is by us asking the staff to do things. For example we were told that we needed to wait for an ultrasound review. After waiting for 2.5 hours, we asked if they knew anything and they were like... oh yeah we've known for a bit, everything looks fine. Seriously? You didn't think it would be important to tell us that? It's the only emergency room around, but that's no excuse for the absolutely horrendous service/care we've received. There was one male nurse who was very helpful, but he's the only positive part of this experience.

My friend has type 2 diabetes and requires 2 types of insulin which now thanks to these people he has been out of for about 4 days. He was seen on September 3rd, the doctor told him she wanted him to have lab work done before she would prescribe any insulin, and when he went to make a follow up appointment they said" Ok we'll see you in 3 weeks. " My friend said, "If I don't get my insulin for 3 weeks I'll be dead." The receptionist told him to go get the labs done and then call in for a follow up appointment. He went directly to the lab afterwards but the doctors office was closed by the time he got out of there, and it was a Friday. So, as soon as they opened he called for a follow up appointment and was told the doctor had prescribed him insulin the day he was seen even though the doctor herself said she wasn't going to prescribe anything until the labs came back. Went across the street to the pharmacy and was told the prescriptions were sent but had no dosage instructions so they couldn't fill it until they heard back from the doctor which they hadn't yet at that time.Went back to the doctor office and was told the labs came in so he'd have to see the doctor before they could resend the script & they didn't have anything until the next day after lunch time(1:00pm). My friend agreed to come back at 1:00pm and this time the doctor said they would send the prescriptions over to the pharmacy right away since he'd been out of insulin. I took him back to the pharmacy and was told there was never any record of anything being sent to them for him. These people say that they care about their patients, THEY LIE! The only thing that they care about is taking your money! These people won't even answer their phone for patients even though they have NO patient's in their clinic! They do not care that they're putting someone's life at risk at all!! They claim they called in his prescription September 3rd and today is September 10th and the pharmacy says they have absolutely NO record of a prescription in his name at all! I called the doctors office while at the pharmacy and they surprisingly answered the phone,what a miracle that was, and she said " It says right here on my computer it was sent there to the Rite Aid pharmacy right across the street. I dont know why they say they don't have it, they have done this before & I don't know why they say they haven't received the prescriptions. Tell them it was sent to them electronically. " The pharmacist at Rite Aid was very rude also and would not talk to the person from the doctor's office on the phone directly herself to get their miscommunication fixed so that my friend could get his insulin. I don't know how these people can sleep at night knowing they have put their patient at risk of going into a coma or dying. This office should be shut down completely since none of their employees do their job properly or professionally. Have to say I agree with both the others reviewers on various, but not all, points. First, while I…read morethought the receptionist, Sheree, seemed very nice, she was smoking when I came up to the building (and it was in the middle of a very dry summer right by the bushes.) On principle, since I was desperately trying to find a "holistic" provider since reallocating from Washington, this alone should have deterred me. But, I decided to give them a try even knowing that they would not accept my Blue Shield insurance. I made my decision in large part because as Sheree said, "if you are healthy the top end of a visit each year will not be much more anyway". Yeah... Like the other reviewer said-buyer beware. I had my visit, but then found out that if I were to do a PAP smear through their office, it would be just shy of $150.00 or, if I went to a preferred provider and had them order the test it would be "0". No brainer, right? Even when I shared this with Sheree she said, yes, go to the free place. She ended up denying this however, because when I went to get my birth control pill filled from Katie, the owner and nurse practitioner, she said, no way would she order me more than an emergency supply since I did not use her for the Pap smear!!! As I write this, almost a year later, I am still in shock and deeply horrified by this, As I said to her then this is extortion-plain and simple, and from a medical provider no less, unbelievable and 100% true. She then had the audacity to write me a letter dismissing me from her practice. Of course, i never would have returned anyway and still can not believe this person remains in practice. I could fill a complaint with the medical board, but, due to life's time constraints, I have not yet done so. Jaw dropping, unethical service.
