Hillside Primary Care was founded in 2019 by Dr. Derin Patel, MD, with a vision to transform primary care delivery across Texas. What began as a single office has grown into a network of 17 locations serving communities throughout San Antonio, New Braunfels, Schertz, Cibolo, Seguin, Killeen, El Paso, and nearby areas. Our Culebra Road clinic in San Antonio reflects our commitment to making quality primary care accessible and convenient for local families. From the start, we have focused on evidence-based medicine, compassionate patient care, and building lasting relationships. Led by Dr. Derin Patel as CMO and Founder, our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants is dedicated to comprehensive family medicine, including care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic diseases, and preventive health. Our mission has remained unchanged since 2019: to deliver primary care that prioritizes your health and well-being while making medical care accessible to our community.
Meet the Business Owner: Derin P.
Dr. Derin Patel, MD, Founder & CMO of Hillside Primary Care, is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician with over 10 years of experience. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, and finished his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky. Before establishing Hillside Primary Care in 2018, Dr. Patel practiced as a hospitalist in Owensboro, Kentucky, and Evansville, Indiana. His broad clinical background and patient-centered approach emphasize prevention, education, and compassionate care. Known for taking the time to listen and explain treatment plans, Dr. Patel is dedicated to empowering patients to take charge of their health and improving the well-being of the communities he serves.
