After reviewing several apartment complexes I was very pleased to find Hillcrest View Apartments in Antioch. I really like the area it is located in. It is tucked in with residential homes and still with in minutes of shopping and restaurants. Staff in office are very nice and approachable. Nicely landscaped and quiet. Came to the leasing office interested in renting a unit and the leasing agent was very rude to me. I am a single mom and the questions I was asking about the apartment complex being kid friendly seemed to have made the agent irritated. Had friends rent here before which is the reason why I was interested and thought it was a good place to start when looking for a place but now I know why they never renewed their lease. If anyone is reading this right now, stay clear of the leasing agent I'm talking about. She has really bad skin that goes along with her really bad attitude. read more

When our daughter and her new husband needed a place to live in the north-east bay that was safe and felt comfortable for a new family, we looked all over the area and Hillcrest View ticked all the right boxes. Great location (Probably the nicest place to live in Antioch!), great management, clean and well maintained property, modern updated units and good security. We considered other apartment complexes in the area, but the management of Hillcrest View seems to keep everything in much better order than the rest of the communities we looked at.Thank you Hillcrest View for making a great new home for my daughter and her new family! read more

The pictures look nice but I haven't seen the place in person. I have e-mailed them about at least 4 times but no response. I think it's because I asked them if they accepted section 8. I found out that it is now a law that "all properties" are supposed to accept section 8. So, I believe by not responding then there is no record of the answer "NO." I thank them because I do not want to live where I am not wanted. It's like being the only black on a job because The Labor Board enforced it. Then, you get harassed by those who are trying to prove that you don't belong there. Oh,Oh!! Here comes the lawsuit!! FYI, I recently read that the Governor of California is passing a law in January 2024 that owners/landlords can not charge 3 times the rent just 1 times the rent. In April 2024 there will be a law passed about landlords and their illegal and unlawful evictions. Look it up because I am not totally clear right now on the eviction description. I've been touring a few different apartment complexes in the area looking for the right fit, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. The leasing agent, Courtney, was prompt in scheduling my tour and was able to answer all my questions about the apartment and the neighborhood. The unit I toured was clean, the staff was amiable, and residents were very neighborly. It's such a relief to know that there's a great sense of community here, as that's not always as easy to find. First thing, Horrible (with a capital H) management. Also, cockroaches, scorpions and and spiders infest regularly. Some of the boxes we had stored had cockroaches in them when we opened them. The complex is near to nothing with no redeeming features whatsoever. The swimming pool could be nice if it wasn't right outside the office lady's window, and be sure you will get a nasty memo for some off the wall reason by the time you are dried off. Some of the neighbors are okay, some are long term residents are comfortable there, we were never made to feel that way from the start. read more

Horrible!! For Antioch they have the nerve to be worried about foreclosures that everyone went through 8 years ago and completely ignore perfect rental history after that! They want you to make close to 8 thousand dollars a month alone lol! Even with another person with excellent credit history renting with you they want a third person! This place is a joke! They quickly took that $70 application fee tho! No other apartments have been this difficult! Don't let these fake ass reviews fool you! They will sell you up and get your app fees that's it. I don't have bad credit at all just went through a foreclosure like everyone else and my daughters credit is excellent and they denied us because..........??? Don't come here read more

Please beware of this place. Lived here for about a year and a half and couldn't wait to leave. I don't even know where to begin. The property manager, Renee and her daughter who is the leasing agent are super unprofessional, rude and always looking for drama. The first thing that bothered me was we initially signed a 1 year lease and once our lease was up they would only offer to renew for 6 months or month to month. So with signing a 6 month lease our rent was being raised every 6 months. Second thing was they charge an extra $35 for covered parking which we opted for. At the time my fiancé and I had only one car and with me being a stay at home mom my fiancé would take the car to work leaving our parking spot open all day. During the day my sister would come over to drop off her daughter who I babysat during the day and would let her park in our empty spot which we paid for every month. I didn't think this would be a huge deal because it wasn't taking up any of the residents open parking. But I guess it was that big of a deal that the leasing agent felt the urgency to bang on my door and ask if the car parked in our parking spot was my car with a plethora of attitude while my baby was sleeping. This not only happened once but twice. On top of that, the next day, Renee, the property manager came a knockin on my door to hand me a copy of my lease with highlighted parking rules with the same attitude as her daughter. Which in my opinion, were both looking for drama because a simple email would've sufficed. Third, the apartment has a rule where you can only have two guests at the pool per apartment which is completely understandable. But in this particular incident, I had my sister and her husband and their daughter who was only a year old at the time come over and swim not thinking it would be a big deal my guests were more than two because their daughter was just a baby. And mind you, we weren't the only residents swimming that day. So low and behold, here comes renee, first approaching the other residents who were two white girls and one black. And who did Renee approach? The black girl, asking if she was a resident at this apartment complex . The resident politely told Renee that she is a resident and I heard Renee apologizing obviously embarrassed. I guess to try and save herself from further embarrassment, she then approached me. Telling me I'm breaking the rules by having the baby in the pool (who is 1 year old). And I politely asked her that why is it a big deal if it's just a baby? And she simply told me she is not going to argue with me and muttered under her breath as she walked away that "I'm fucking rude". Real professional. Another deal breaker was, there were scorpions in our apartment and maggots under the stove. When I called to have an exterminator come she told me that we were letting the scorpions in and the maggots were our fault when we were only living there for a few days. So if you want a comfortable place to live with privacy and respect as a resident and to not be constantly watched, DO NOT LIVE HERE. They ask for way too much money in rent to be treated like that and not feel comfortable in your own home. read more

I was in need of a short term apartment and Hillcrest View fit the bill quickly. The management was very helpful and clear about all aspects of my lease. She made the move as easy as possible. I love that the complex is well kept and clean. The maintenance team is quick and very friendly. The whole staff was very easy to work with and made my time there feel like home. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU HAVE KIDS OR IF YOU HATE BUGS/PESTS and MOLD IN YOUR HOME. I lived here a while back and moved out moved out in less than six months. When I first moved in, I was a little hesitant because I had heard some negative information from a friend who also lived there previously but gave it a shot because I needed a place for myself and my two kids. First, the property manager, Rene, seemed super nice at first, then a couple months in; I realized she was not what she seemed. I read another review saying Rene loved to be in the middle of drama! I was told my kids couldn't ride their bikes/scooters outside; basically they can't play outside! Like WTF?! Second, their apartments are infested with pincher bugs and maggots! When I told the property manager, she basically said it was my fault there's maggots in the apartment and I would have to deal with it myself. I thought as being that I live in an apartment complex and that there is a property manager on-site, they would take care of something as simple as pest control. BOY, WAS I WRONG! Third, we found mold in our apartment, mostly in the carpets. You would think the property manager would also inspect and clean the apartments before new tenants move in. NOPE! Bottom line, there are way better housing options other than this SHITHOLE. You might as well spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Good luck to all my renters! read more

I just moved in to Hillcrest View Apartments on the recommendation of a friend who used to work here and I am very grateful to have found this treasure spot. Everyone is so friendly and the location is so quiet and secure. Renee is a wonderful property Manager and went above and way beyond to get me into my apartment at the earliest possible time. I love the apartment itself. The bedrooms are of great size and the floor plan I have is wonderful. I have lots of natural light and and the colors they chose for the walls give my home an elegant comfortable ambiance to come home to. I'm so excited to be a new tenant! read more

I have been here for 5 years Now!! I feel that this property is a wonderful community- where my husband and children feel safe and are able to enjoy their surroundings with out worry. I get along great with all of my neighbors! Love sharing foods that we make with each other. Our kids play together and watch out for each other. Once when my daughter got hurt - a neighbor thought nothing to help her and put a bandage on it - without even asking. :-) For the 5 years that my family and I have been here - Rene, the Manager here has always treated everybody the same, very friendly, professional and fair...This is definitely a "Community" Family environment and would recommend to anyone and everyone!! We've left three messages with their answering service, stopped by in person and made an appointment through a a third party app to inquire about renting here over a two week period (!) -- and the leasing manager hasn't bothered to reply to our inquiries. The grounds are lovely but it appears the property owners have allowed the on-site manager to pick and choose whether she wants to respond to prospective tenants. An abysmal display of bad customer service, right here in the beautiful hills of East Antioch. How unfortunate! read more

Lived here for a couple years, recently moved out. These apartments aren't kid friendly as much as Renee wants to seem that they are. Kids aren't allowed to play outside on scooters, bikes or with balls. Renee loves being in the middle of drama. The unit for the price is a joke! The walls are uneven, seams aren't straight. I've had issues since day 1 & nothing has ever been completely repaired. I've had mail & packages disappear. Unless you're an old bitter elderly RUN! Don't rent here! read more

Ive lived here for a little over a year now, and I have never had any bad experience. The staff are always kind, friendly, and willing to help. Always going above and beyond, and even when things happen that are out of their control, very apologetic and accommodating. Sometimes the neighbors don't pick up after their dogs, and parking can be scarce at times since there are no assigned spots, but no other complaints. Nice and safe neighborhood. read more
