I normally love this package store... competitive prices and have almost everything you need. Tonight, on a Thursday, customer service was beyond poor. After spending over $200 I had a box of liquor, including a packaged bottle and wasn't even offered help to take to the car. Really sad how poor customer service has gone these days. Help was in the store, There were several guys in there arranging liquor bottles, and the pitiful cashier didn't bother to ask after she saw tbat I was by myself. I would rather patronized places with good customer service even if they don't have everything I'm looking for. read more

While the size of this liquor store was impressive and they had an equally impressive array of stock on hand, I was not impressed that the two employees working here on the night I visited were not wearing masks. It's the middle of a global pandemic, and it just seems like common sense to require your employees to mask up, even if some of the customers won't. We were passing through and were staying in a hotel just off the highway. This liquor store was just down the way maybe a mile further. So it's definitely a convenient location for travelers like us. read more

I normally prefer this package store since locating to this area. It's always great however today I had a bad experience. The store is supposed to close at 7:30 however at 7:19 I was there and there was a large woman with a blonde wig holding the door. I told her I knew what I wanted however She could care less and did not let myself and two other customers in. We had at least 8 minutes before the official close time of 7:30 pm. I wonder if the owner knows that they close early on Sundays. Your employees will make or break your business. Just a business owner to business owner note. read more

This store is pretty great. But when I walked in on yesterday, I noticed that ALL THREE cashiers were NOT wearing masks! I was like what's going on in here! So as I browsed..I said to the cashier on the end.."why aren't you guys wearing mask" her response was that she had a mask and she picked it up off the counter and showed it to me then put back down on the counter! WTH! So she was being smart! Okay then.... So I went to "Total Wines" and spent $300 on wine! But guess what they know how to wear there mask like they are suppose to! read more

Great place to find a good selection of liquor. The employees are always very helpful with making sure you find what you need. They're always good at giving recommendations on trying new liquors. The prices are fair and reasonable. Not the cheapest in the area, but decently priced. Only downfall is the hours and the long check out lines. The hours vary from week to week honestly. I've gone 30mins before they "close" and the doors have been locked. read more

If you live in Jonesboro closer to Tara Blvd then you should consider driving on over to this Package store to try it out. They carry a large variety of alcoholic beverages and they are much cheaper than the one's in the Tara Blvd or Hwy 85 side of ClayCo. I am often in Henry Co so I don't really have to go out of my way just to come here. If you are in the Brandsmart/Carmax/Garden Ridge area then stop by and see what you think. Ample parking, Store is less than 10 years old (I think). Great deals when compared to those Tara Blvd locations. read more

I would have liked to give them a higher score, except two things. One, I brought a roach home from one of their boxes. Thank God my floor is lightly dusted with boric acid, so it crawled a few feet and died. Second is one of the employees totally lied to me. This person does not know me, so it was extremely insulting that he would assume that someone is stupid based on appearances. I was buying eggnog during the whole holiday season. Twice a week, coming to their store, buying at least 4 bottles plus other liqours. I settled on their store because they are well placed, large parking lot, well stocked, and the less seedy of other stores within a 10 mile radius. I see regular people shopping, not a bunch of drunks like a package store in Jonesboro... Anyway - I went there the Sunday after Christmas, because an employee told me eggnog would be sold there until after the new year. The place was packed to the rafters with all kinds of eggnog - the whole season they were packed like that. I bought a few, and came back that Tuesday. Not a bottle in the whole joint, dry as a bone. The spaces were there - even in the freezer, but not one bottle. It was obviously pulled. Just to confirm I asked one of the employees and told him I was informed they would be selling eggnog until after the new years. He actually looked me in my eyes and said "We sold out..." I have no clue why he felt he had to lie, which made me extra furious. Just say we pulled it - what's with the uneccesary lie??? After that lie, I started looking for another place, and I found the Stockbridge Bottle Shop, which is at the opposite side of 138, to the right of Walmart a couple blocks down. They are clean, quiet nice professional acting adults working there - and they still carried eggnog until a week after New Years. Most important, I don't feel like they are the type that will just lie to a customer for no reason. read more

The staff are all rude and have bad attitudes and even worse service every time I go here. They are LAZY and close early to avoid working. This has happened to me twice here. So don't waste your gas, time or energy if you have better choices on the table. read more

GF This is a place that has over the years gone down in customer service . Just having a descent selection is no longer the case of making this the store of choice . More often than not I'm meet with a person eating at the checkout , with a indifferent attitude and/or rude . After my last check-out the lady with red hair had no greeting , ranged up my 30 dollar purchase and just put my receipt in the bag , turned around and talked with a fellow worker and said nothing else , least alone thank you or good-bye . There are other choices in the area and I'm not doing your store a favor by giving you my business (cash).... as a last resort I have shopped there , at this point , I will pass and advise any person use to good customer service to do so as well ...... read more

138 Package Store I frequently patronize the 138 Package Store because of their location, customer service, and product selection. I went to Bermuda last Summer and enjoyed Goslings Black Seal Rum. I was surprised and excited to learn that this rum is regularly stocked at 138 Package Store. Just last week I spent over $100 on the big bottle of Donjulio Tequila and some beer. Last night, a friend and I went to 138 Package and had a bad customer service experience. We approached the counter to check out with an available cashier. This young lady with glasses and long red hair was standing at the register eating a bag of chips. (Retail 101 teaches sales staff not to eat or drink on the sales floor or at the cash register) She was facing us and never acknowledged us. We asked her if her register was open. She said yes and put away her chips to ring us up. She handed a bag to my friend for her to bag her own items. I asked to exchange one 99 cent bag of chips for another. She asked me to step aside so she could wait on the customers behind me. She also called the manager, Mike, up to the register to approve the exchange transaction. She rang up the customers behind me and placed their items in a bag. Mike came out and told her to just swap out my chips since they were the same price. I then told the cashier that I was waiting on her to bag my chips. She told me to wait until she was finished with the customers that were behind me. When she finished she handed me a bag instead of placing my chips in the bag. I asked her to call Mike back up to the counter. I told Mike that this cashier had a bad attitude, provided us with poor customer service, and needed to be re-trained. Mike offered up an excuse that she was not feeling well. He went back to the back as opposed to hanging out at the register to speak with the cashier. This experience may have been an isolated incident. However, 138 Package should be aware that too many experiences like this will send business straight to their competition. read more

This place rules! Every time I head down to the southside to rage with my homeboy I stop here to pick up a case of Saporo. They're cheap, they have a huge selection of stuff, and that cutie patootie tattooed cashier always makes great conversations with me. This place is as good as it gets. Go get some. read more

Was on my way to visit my brother in law and didn't have a gift for him. Found this place conveniently on the way south! I walked in and was highly impressed with their liquor selection and also the prices. They've got all of the cognacs that I like (henessy, remy Martin 1738, etc). The guy that I called on the phone gave pretty clear directions and was professional. They actually just have a massive selection of ALCOHOL period! Most of the time, the lines are long, check-out is slow, and the clerks' faces have frowns. Every time I give the place a chance, they fail. This evening, another long line. Two cashiers. Ringing up slowly. Managers in the back talking but ignoring the situation. I put my selection back and left, as others did. I've only been in two liquor stores to shop, and this was my second. I have to say, that I was surprised when I walked in. From the impressive virtual bartender that one of the employees showed me how to use to select and print all types of drink recipes to the staff that helped me search for what I needed. I'm not knowledgeable at all about the alcohols and wines but I did meet, I believe his name was "Bill?, who knew everything there is about the wines and which was the best wine to have at my dinner. I thought that the atmosphere was fun and I definitely will shop and recommend this store to anyone who asks. Keep up the great work!! read more
