US Post Office

US Post Office

I prefer going to this location of US Post Office versus the Camp Hill or Mechanicsburg locations…read more Yes, those other two locations are bigger and have more space for the line which always forms there. The bigger location does not mean that they have more counter staff. They have one, sometimes two and so does the Enola location. The advantage of Enola location is that I've rarely seen a line there, which saves tremendous time. The counter staff at Enola are very nice too. They are friendly and always have a smile and good words.

I have never had a problem at the post office ever! Today was a less than pleasant experience. I…read morealways use credit, as I work at a bank and I know how your information gets stolen. While I was paying I was asked for the numbers on my card, no problem right? Wrong. The woman behind the counter argued with me that my card HAD to be signed with my signature or she could not accept it. I have NEVER signed any of my cards since I have had a bank account. I let her know that what she was telling me was incorrect and I attempted to give her my state issued photo ID and it was declined. The woman proceeded to put her hand in My face and tell me to stop talking. Last I checked, that was completely inappropriate. My signature is on my ID.... my card does NOT need signed with a signature as it is a VISA not a MASTERCARD. I have found information backing up my statements to this woman. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2014/10/12/credit-dotcom-sign-your-credit-card/16963045/ The article above states what I have stated.

This is a huge three or four story building that has a cross outside of it. located at 6th and Reily streets in mid-town, and long considered an eye-sore by almost anyone you ask, this place usually has homeless and troubled people hanging around it at all times of the day. They have free dinner and housing for people who ask. but they have to stay there all night and cannot leave and re-enter, you have to do chores and bible-study. I volunteered here when i was little and thought 'what could have possibly happened to these people?' many are the victims of drugs or alcohol, and many have to struggle daily with mental illness. it is constantly in need of clothing, medicine, food and basic supplies. It also has an area where they teach you job skills, how to write a resume and training for job-seekers.

However, if you are in need of shelter, be aware that you will be scrutinized and if you are a trying to restart your life after serving time, will likely be rejudged. I cannot say this is true of ALL the workers there, just the ones that I have dealt with. They have truly forgotten what the Christ taught in his time "Matthew 7 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" So as far as donating food or clothing, yes, it will go to people who need it. As far as donating money, I would advise against it for their discriminatory housing policies.
