In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. Whether you're looking for a 70s jumpsuit or an 80s glam sweatshirt with a giant cheetah, your can surely find some gems here. They do an awesome job showcasing new pieces on their social media, which is mostly how I've stayed in touch with them during the pandemic. You can shop from their online store or DM them on Instagram to claim items. I believe their brick and mortar has closed at this location, but according to Instagram, they're aspiring to be back in Lakewood soon! WHAT (type of store) -- Magically Found is a quirky shop filled with random items such as candles, cards, tea cups, etc. The owner was super friendly during my visit. She explained that this shop has what a grandmother living in an English cottage would keep at her house. ITEMS -- The owner explained this to be a witchy store hence the name "Magic" is in the store name. I am not into witch things neither do I believe in that but the store has many other items to buy. They sell matches, candles, candle stick holders, tea cups, and other random items. I bought a little square container ($9) that has a strawberry shaped top/cover. It can be used for anything such as to put earrings in or even cubed sugar. I still haven't decided what I'll use mine for but it is in my kitchen for now. Whether you need a gift, want to buy yourself something, or just want your vibrations raised, this is the place to go. The store is just a feast for your eyes. It has a strong Practical Magic flare to it (and you may even hear its magical soundtrack playing). Dried herbs and flowers hang from the ceiling, taper candles are nestled into the most unsuspecting corners, and vintage wares are everywhere to be discovered. Rebecca self-describes her shop as "Eclectic Granny Decor, Cottage Witch Vibes" according to Instagram. As I type this, I have a taper candle made with dried flowers burning inside of a vintage owl holder. I love this shop and could truly buy everything in here. Rebecca is so creative and makes a number of the store products and is always putting together speciality boxes (think Taylor Swift themed, etc.). Not every store can accept items to sell. I saw the store's hat collection and it's a LARGE collection. TOO MUCH INVENTORY (in my opinion) -- Everything is crammed in this store. I browsed around the store before I left and I was amazed as to how much inventory is in here. I even commented on the inventory and the owner stated that he has no real method of keeping track of everything which is a bit concerning. While the owner is really nice, the store is too packed with MANY items. The experience walking in feels a bit overwhelming especially because some parts of the store are not neat. It is even hard to walk through the store as some of the spaces between racks are tight. I'm sorry to say but this store looks like a junk yard with some very old and used items. MY PURCHASE -- I bought a white cotton hat plus earrings. The hat cost around $25 and the earrings were around $14. I realized later that these were slightly overpriced. When I got home, I noticed a stain on my hat and I also noticed that one piece of the earring is a bit flimsy (loose). I'll try to remove the stain off of my cotton hat but it looks pretty permanent which isn't ideal but it is a nice hat. The store sells clothing (tops, pants, jackets, dresses, sweaters), cups/mugs, hats, and other random things. Many items don't look new so I'm assuming some are used items. I prefer an organized store where the racks are not overflowing with items and where items aren't very old (some look like used items) so I probably won't be back. INVENTORY: One small storefront filled with predominantly household goods and furniture. The inventory is probably 1960's to current time. There are a few clothing items - men's jerseys and baseball hats (like Hooters hat). The space is filled with textures like wicker, knits, and ceramics. There are a few unique pieces like African sculptures and few gorgeous vases. Other than that, I found the inventory to be pretty overplayed. The prices were considerably higher compared to other shops in Lakewood and Cleveland. For instance, wicker fish was $60, and emerald velvet bench was $300. The store accepts Afterpay unlike other similar businesses. SERVICE: The service was okay, pretty transactional. I appreciated that help was offered with shopping. PARKING: There is no dedicated parking lot but street and meter parking is aplenty in this part of Lakewood. Stop in if you're in the mood to check out vintage with coffee in hand. The store was not for me due to pricing and me preferring vintage from earlier time periods. Still, I can see how someone can find unique home decor here.
