The new team who's been here longer than any other management while I've lived here has done an amazing job fixing up the place. When I saw all the missing lightbulbs were replaced (like 100 of them (I'm serious lol)), I knew we had good people who cared. The staff (especially the property manager Gwen) are friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. There are a few downsides of course like you might hear your neighbors if there's absolutely no background noise, but a fan or TV on low pretty much completely solves that. I think most places in the city have that problem though. You can't really hear people on other floors because the floors are so thick, and the other tenants are respectful. I will say that using a fan aimed at the windows to help with water on the windows during freezing weather helps a lot. (: The metal doors to the apartments and the entrances you need a code for make it feel safe. The big windows let in so much sunlight!!! I just renewed my lease for the third time and can't wait to see what they do next. I honestly highly recommend this place. Is it perfect? No of course not but the management team is really trying to make it the best they can (and is doing a good job at that) and I really believe they will address any issues to keep you comfortable.

Residents should be made aware of the issue so they can take the necessary steps to report it and prevent the situation from getting worse. We also constantly have problems with maintenance, and we can't seem to keep a maintenance person on-site. Meanwhile, they continue moving new residents in without properly taking care of the people who already live here. Homeless individuals are able to access our mailroom and have damaged and destroyed residents' property, which is extremely concerning. On top of that, we don't have private parking. Residents' guests regularly park in the back, leaving people who actually pay rent struggling to find a parking space. Overall, I would rate this property a 2/10. There are too many ongoing issues that need to be addressed before they continue bringing in more residents.

I had to move 5,000 miles away for my job, and they will not allow me to break my lease for a cause. The management is demanding three months lease~ about $3k while I live across the ocean. I approached them nicely and in person, was a good renter for seven years, never late or a problem. Additionally, the prospective renter should note: 1. Building washing machines are habitually broken. 2. The apartments leak air like a sieve. I attach a photo of my window from last winter- the ice is on the INSIDE. When I asked if they could do anything, they said NO. 3. Frequently, when the weather is below freezing, the fire alarm sounds. The building is so poorly insulated that internal water pipes freeze and break. A significant pipe break causes a drastic loss in pressure sounding the fire alarm. This chain of events usually happens at the coldest time of day, 4 am, so you are standing in the street until maintenance and the FD arrives and can turn off the alarm, usually about an hour. 4. The broken pipes usually flood the building near where they occur. This sequence happened at least once a year in my seven years of living there. Like I said, don't rent there.

Plexpod Westport stole from me when their Westport location was open. I was told my suite was being…read morebought out by a larger company and had to vacate in 2 weeks. Turns out they backed out of their lease with the parent company at the last minute and as a result pushed all of the tenants out with little to no notice. Once leaving I asked for the return of my security deposit and was promised it was going to be sent within 30 business days via mail (I have emails). I never received! I was in conversations with the COO and she cc'd the now President to ensure he took care of it. All of a sudden several high executives of the company left the company (communicated to me by the President). I was then told I wouldn't be receiving my security deposit any longer and that I needed to ask the parent company for my money (I did not have a contract with the parent company and they stated they have no accounts or information to assist us tenants who were left out to dry.) The parent company stated that they have received emails and phone calls from several of the past Westport tenants who were asked to vacate as well that experienced the same treatment as they werf directed by Plexpod to ask them as well for their money.

They view from these tables is absolutely incredible: downtown Kansas City and the Kauffman Performing Arts center. For a truly inspirational experience, work on the roof and really get to see Kansas City. The rooftop area has both tables and wi-fi so that you can be productive and enjoy the feel of the city. Entrepreneurs and other business people live on coffee and this place delivers. A full espresso bar with barista is available in the morning and in the afternoon it's help yourself. Two custom blends of The Roasterie coffee is available on drip. I recommend the SmartCoffee which is infused with cocoa nibs. Mmm. My favorite is to top the SmartCoffee with a shot or two of espresso and a shot of peppermint Torani syrups. Other amenities for rentals include a variety of meeting rooms and studio spaces as well as the entire sixth floor for large meetings. The copy room is well equipped with your typical office supplies such as binding equipment, card scanners and of course a copier and printer. Costs for these amenities depends on your lease package. The kitchen is well stocked with munchies and like a typical office environment, people often bring things to share. If you need something, just ask because the support team is very willing to accommodate. Located in the middle of the Crossroads district, there are a ton of eating establishments within walking distance making allowing you to park your car one place and keep it there all day. During busy times, parking can be a slight problem as there is no established parking lot and you'll have to find something on the street. During "First Fridays" art fair this can be a particular problem. Once you've outgrown working at coffee shops and need a focused place to work and meet with clients, coworking is a great option and Bizperc is my preferred choice in Kansas City for that right mix of amenities and fun.
