Threatened to "kick my ass" when I said I "did not appreciate" the way they handled my dress…read more I dropped off a $350 formal dress for alterations and pressing with the dry cleaners last week. The dress was on a hanger when I dropped it off. A red-haired girl (who looked too young to be working there) pinned my dress. They called me about a week later. I missed the call but went in to get my dress after seeing the missed call on my phone. When I arrived, my dress was crumpled in a corner of the counter. It also had not been altered or pressed. The same red-haired girl was at the counter. She did not explain why but said whoever does the alterations could not alter my dress. She offered me a number for an alternative seamstress. I declined the number because it is now too late for me to alter the dress. I said, "I don't appreciate you all holding on to this for a week before telling me. Now I don't have a dress for my sister's wedding." I said nothing about the dress being crumpled. The girl said nothing, just shrugged. So I said nothing more, and just left. But moments later, I received a text message (attached to the version of this review that I left on Google). It was sent by the girl who evidently accessed Gray Dy Cleaner's business records in order to obtain my phone number and harass me. In the message, the girl called me "trashy" and told me to "have fun looking like a bum" at my sister's wedding. I turned my car around and came back and asked to speak to a manager about the inappropriate text message that had been sent to me using private information I'd given to Gray Dry Cleaners for business purposes only. The girl said there was no manager there. So I asked to speak to an adult because I did not wish to speak to her further since she did not know how to conduct herself with customers. The girl doubled-down and said I was trashy and she had every right to access the business records to obtain my phone number to text me her opinion that I was trashy. She said there was no manager at Gray Dry Cleaners period. She said only 7 people worked there, not enough for there to be a manager. I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner was 84 and "doesn't give a fuck" about his business, so she said it didn't matter who I spoke to. When I began to video her she threatened, "I will kick your ass" and flipped me off (as can be seen in the screenshot of the video attached to the version of this review that I left on Google). After asking about her age and noting that there are child labor laws, I left again. Moments later, the girl texted me that the manager had just walked in. She asked me to return. She mentions me bringing the police, I suppose because I asked her age and mentioned there are child labor laws when I insisted on speaking to an adult. Obviously her message implies the police don't care that she's working there. I did not wish to return and be assaulted, verbally or physically, by a little girl, so I called back instead. When I did, the same girl picked up the phone. I asked for the manager. The girl said, "I am the fucking manager." I persisted in asking for the manager through her stream of abuse. She hung up on me. Avoid this business at all costs, even if you have to drive to Macon or Milledgeville to get your dry cleaning and alterations done. Certainly, if you do have to use them, don't entrust them with anything expensive or special. I also have several little pin holes in the hem of my dress where it appears, for some reason, they repeatedly inserted and removed safety pins from the dress into and out of different places (in addition to making it a dirty crumpled mess by evidently leaving it on the public counter where they were conducting transactions for who knows how long). What's more, they know they mistreated my items and appear to be proud to have done so: because the girl told me I was now going to look like a "bum" at my sister's wedding.

I've used them for years because of convenience in location, and speed. The staff are always…read moreflexible and friendly. I like the early hours (7:30-6:00 M-F). I did have an unlucky streak with them a few years back and started taking men's button up shirts elsewhere for pressing (I was too busy to iron) because I kept getting shattered buttons. They were kind about it and offered buttons and to sew on buttons and discounts - but it just kept happening. And I always noticed before they did. I haven't had any problems with them in a while though. If you live in Gray - I would use them. If you are closer to Macon or Milledgeville, you might want to try somewhere else.
