I was advised to return when Jennifer, the owner, was available. I came back the following morning and, instead of a greeting, was met with, "What's the problem?" I explained that my sweater had been shrunk. Jennifer quickly became defensive and stated that they followed the care label, which instructed washing in cold water. I clarified that I had specifically requested dry cleaning. She responded that they always follow the care label. I confirmed with her that they prioritize the label over the customer's request, and she agreed. I pointed out that if they had followed my request, the responsibility would have been mine if something went wrong. However, in this case, they chose not to follow my instructions. When I asked how she intended to resolve the issue, she asked what I wanted. I requested reimbursement to replace the sweater with a comparable item. She refused and stated the only compensation she would offer was ten times the cost of the cleaning, which she described as generous. She compared the situation to a car accident, saying that if she damaged a vehicle, she would not pay its full value. Ultimately, I felt I had no choice but to accept her offer. For a $200 cashmere-blend sweater, I received $70. As she handed me the check, I noted that she had not once apologized. I shared that a simple apology would have gone a long way. She then attempted to apologize, but by that point, it felt insincere. Reflecting afterward, while the label may indicate washing in cold water, it is widely understood that cashmere or wool garments should not be machine dried. A mistake was clearly made, but it was not acknowledged.

I have heard of his odd and excessively hostile behavior before, but since he stays in the back, I have never witnessed it. The woman he was yelling at was elderly and thought she had been quoted a lesser price- she may have been mistaken, however, he never tried to ask her about it. He just yelled and retreated. The poor customer was embarrassed and did not have enough money to pay. He had no compassion. I will not be going back. ( I was in from out of town helping my elderly dad with his dry cleaning.)

Mind you, during our initial conversation, we discussed prices and services and the amount of clothes to be washed. Once they picked up our clothes the drop off time changed to the next day, which wasn't a problem because of the size of our order. Our scheduled drop off time was 4pm, which came and went. At 6pm we called to check the status of our clothes and were told that they were almost done and our last load had just gone into the dryer. At 8pm we reached out again to see what was the holdup and were told that they were in traffic. Finally, at 10:25pm our clothes arrived and were less than satisfactory. Not to mention, they charged us an extra $125 for our clothes which totaled out to a whopping $300!!! For $300 you would think that our clothes would have been done exceptionally well! Well it wasn't. Our clothes still smell sour, some of them had color damage, and there was even rust on brand new under garments. I'm very dissatisfied with this service and very sad that it turned out this way. Please do better. Then you respond with lies....

Do not use this cleaners…read more First off, it is just way too hard to get in and out of their parking lot, but that is not a valid reason for not using a business. Highland is not customer friendly and they don't do such a good job with the dry cleaning either. I came to Highland looking for a new, convenient dry cleaner. When I dropped off my clothes, I first noticed that the business smelled like I had walked into the smoking lounge at the airport. Luckily my clothes did not come out smelling like that, but tobacco is not something you want to smell when you want your clothes cleaned. Attempting not to haul my dirty clothes around Macon in my arms, I asked if they had laundry bags that Highland gives to their customers. The staff member assumed that I was only in town temporarily and said she would have to ask the manager if she could give me a bag. The manager was not there. I received no bag. That may be good because there are enough people carrying all their earthly possessions around in bags, anyway. That brings me to my pickup. I was told that the cleaners closed at 6 p.m. When I arrived at 5:45, I found that the door was closed and locked. The staff member who I had spoken to a day earlier left her spot behind the counter and unlocked the door. She did not hold it open. She did not inform me that they were closed or open. Actually, she did not say one-word to me. She simply walked over to a rack where she got my clothes and returned to her enclave behind the counter. I stood at the counter waiting for her to do something, anything. Her first words were "that will be ____ dollars." I already had my wallet out, so I held up my credit card, but she did not immediately take my payment. Instead, she shuffled papers like a news anchor for about 45 seconds while I stood there doing arm exercises with my credit card. She finally took my card, swiped it, handed me a receipt to sign. I believe she said "thank you," but it was only in response to me saying "thank you, have a good day;" something that I was taught to do. When I dropped of my clothes, the woman had asked me if I wanted my shirts starched. I told her yes, but only light to regular starch. However, when I attempted to wear my returned shirts, they were nowhere near regular starch. In fact, the dress shirts felt like sandpaper and they probably could have stood up on their own and done the robot. One of my four shirts was so bad and uncomfortable I had to relegate it to a sad, smelly death in the laundry basket for a clean, not hard rebirth. It is not that expect any royal treatment when I use the services of a business, but I sure expect some friendly service and some common decency. How can I trust someone with my wardrobe, if they cannot even offer pleasantries to my face? This is by-far the WORST dry cleaning experience I have ever had, and I would not recommend that anyone use their services.
