I stopped by to grab a copy of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks for my book club meeting, and they had two copies available. Also, I had no idea that if you have a library card for American Fork, Pleasant Grove, or Highland, you can use it at any of the three libraries. So that was great to know! I tried using self check out, but since it's been a couple of years since I've used my card physically at the library, it was blocked. I had to head to the counter, and they just needed to confirm my info was still correct. Super simple fix. The employee who helped me was so friendly exactly the kind of person you hope to interact with at a library.

They have a pretty good collection of new movies and If you sign up for emails, they will email you when they have new movies to rent. Every time we come into this little gem, the staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are operating limited hours right now due to COVID19, but they make sure their limited hours are posted on their website's front page. When you do return movies and books, the only way their taking it back is the drop box behind the library. They are not taking any returns inside. In addition, they are not taking any cash for payment for any late fees at this time due to the pandemic. What I also love about this library is sometimes they have donated bread at the entrance, free to anyone who might need it. At this time I don't think anyone is allowed to sit and stay (and play) inside, so they labeled their hours as "Grab & Go" while they are open. I have looked into their digital selection, and it would be nice if they can expand it. I've put in a few requests for movies that they do not have, but have not received any response as to them making any effort of carrying it. Room for growth!

The receptionist told me fines go toward buying new books, which I can support more than paying Blockbuster fines to a corporation back in the day. Book selection is fine for me, I still haven't finished the ones on my list. My 7 year old daughter loves to go and get books to read. I had to buy one replacement that was lost. They were understanding but they do enforce the deadlines. I have used their computers to print things out and that was helpful, you just need to have a library card and your account can't owe too much money in fines. I have been able to use USB drives with no problem. I do wish they had extended hours of operation. My current occupation requires long long hours, and it is rare that I can make it in to check anything out. It is awesome they have an outdoor book drop so you can return books on your schedule. It would be cool if they had a separate floor for grown-ups so that the noise from the children doesn't distract your concentration. When I build my own library.... All in all, a good value for the price (FREE!)

There is never a long wait and from filling out forms, having them enter it into the system, and us being seen, it doesn't take no more than 20-25 minutes. The staff is friendly and they are personable to the younger kids so they feel more comfortable right before the shot is given . They also give out stickers after the shot to the kids, which cheers up the kids just a bit. We also get additional shots here for school entrance. It's close to home and it's always convenient!

I had all of my stuff packed up in my car, as I was unlawfully removed from my home today (my landlord asked my sister and I to move her vehicle and he changed the locks on the home in that time). To my surprise the officer showed me compassion. He asked me if I was okay, and if I had a place to sleep tonight. I could tell that he honestly cared. My only regret is not having gotten his name because I want to thank him. In a time where I was feeling that nobody cared about the struggles that I was facing, a police officer gave me compassion. I can't thank you enough officer in the black beanie with the reddish-colored facial hair. Please keep doing what you're doing. It truly makes a difference!

They specialize in practical reading, writing, and speaking skills. For students, they have emerging and intermediate programs, as well as classes that focus on parenting, citizenship and workplace English. In April I attended the ESLC for training to become a ESL teacher. For $50 they provide a 2-weekend training at their headquarters in South Salt Lake; complete with heart-string jerking stories of their students, role playing real-life scenarios, creating a lesson plan and a swanky orange tote bag. The staff and mentors are amazing and I completed the program feeling a lot of responsibility in my new teaching role, but well-equipped and with an ample support system. They also encourage you to sit in on a class to get hands-on experience. The staff at ESLC opened my mind to what a impact confidence in language makes. From a parent who wants to ask questions their child's parent-teacher conferences, to an individual that wants a more fulfilling career.
