I come in the morning and have found a tampon and used condom. There is plastic around the sewer grates that is torn. There is often trash by the sewer openings. There are times the poop bags have ran out for awhile not being refilled. Sometimes it floods and stinks like sewage and the dogs can get their paws black from it. When it floods bad during raining times they lock it up. Some people leave styrofoam coffee cups, poop from their dogs, and broken toys. I wished this park had a bathroom. Regulars are very nice. Benches on each side, shade from trees on one side is nice and dog/people drinking fountain. I am thankful to have it so large because I have big dogs that love to run and play.

We have come a few times and it was nice, no issues. However, today was different. There were several Husky dogs that were being rather aggressive to other dogs. The owners, one an obese, Hispanic male, was being a bully as well. There were several other Hispanic males who told me and my friend to take our dog elsewhere if we didn't like it. We left and so did another girl who observed the entire situation. No one cared that they were bullies and I am writing this to warn anyone who goes there to beware of them. Their dogs are mean and aggressive and the fat "brute" bully does nothing and won't control his dog. He gave me several death threat looks and if I would have been armed with pepper spray, I may have used it. We wanted no trouble and left quickly. I am really nervous to go back. It is a nice and beautiful park although, there are no bathrooms and also many people do not pick up their dog's poop. Pros-beautiful dog park, has nice benches to sit on and pretty grass. Con's-No bathrooms or shade, sometimes poop not picked up, mean bullies who are hateful with aggressive dogs. There was a girl there that the bully's dogs were trying to bite and pick on. The poor dog was crying but the girl did nothing. So odd that people won't fight for their own animals. I wanted to call the cops but saw no point. If you see people like this with a Husky, I urge you to report him. I am not sure to whom though. Enter at your own risk. Take pepper spray and be on guard. Never know when the mean, fat bully might return.

Yes, there are 2! One side is for smaller kids and the other bigger ones 5-up. If you have people that want to play basketball there's a court for that too. When Silver-creek would be full we would come over here and have a nice quiet game. This park's dog park used to be in the front where the water pump things are. I was said when I saw the city putting them in and digging up the dog run. However, I was happy again after noticing that they moved it back some and kept this place a nice dog park. It's literally less than a 10min walk from my house. You walk through the neighborhood and there it is. This park literally has nothing but 1 bench and a whole lot of grass space and that's probably why they're always playing soccer here. My dogs like this park. My boys run up and down w them when it's not occupied by soccer players. One of my dogs (Kreacher) likes to mark his territory on every single tree and kick grass/dirt w his hind legs to let all the other dogs know this is his park haha. It's a nice park to walk your dog at and I really like that it's not filthy and for the most part... dog owners pick up after themselves which is always a plus. When you enter the park from our neighborhood you enter from Boswelia and if you walk all the way down onto the end of the park then you end up on S. Laurelglen. It's literally a cool shortcut. The bad side is that lately we have noticed homeless living inside of the blocked off canal and that makes me feel uneasy. There's tons of trash in the canal also now when there's literally a trash can not too far away. I hope the city can take care of the trash problem. They are probably not both needed every day, but they are important to accommodate special occasions and events sponsored by NOR recreation & parks which administers and maintains this park. I was here one evening last summer with friends to hear a local band play. We all brought lawn chairs and blankets and had a lovely evening listening to music and people watching. Both parking lots were pretty full that evening. On an average afternoon like today, there were families with young children enjoying the large playground equipment structures, teenagers walking their dogs, a couple of young men playing one on one basketball on the courts, and several men setting up for some unknown sport which involved the placement of many red flags on the large field just South of the picnic area. I enjoyed my picnic under the shade structure which held a large number of picnic tables with conveniently located barbecue grills. It can be reserved for a fee by contacted NOR directly qt 392-2010. The picnic shelter has a capacity of 80 people and can be reserved for a fee of $15 per hour with a 3 hour minimum reservation. The park sprawls across 21.3 acres. There are two very large grassy areas, one to the North and one to the South of the playground equipment. There are clean public restrooms, all of which are individual rooms that can be locked from the inside and were well stocked with toilet paper. I didn't give it five stars because the grass is not as lush, green, and well watered as most of the other parks in Bakersfield.

The disc golf baskets are placed very close to the kids playground and picnic tables. It's very common for discs to hit the playground while very young children are playing. I've had a few close calls, almost being hit with a disc even when I was nowhere near the baskets. And I've seen other children and adults almost get hit with discs. They'll throw discs even while there are groups of people hanging in the area. It's just not a good idea to have disc golf at this park.

Recently, the playground got a revamp. While I do miss the nostalgic charm of the old sand, I can't deny that the new design is sleek, clean, and inviting. Now, many years later, I have the joy of bringing my own child here to play. It's a special feeling to see them enjoying the same park I loved growing up, just with a fresh new look. Campus Park continues to be a welcoming, family-friendly space that holds both great memories and new ones in the making.

Not the most impressive little park, but I'm so happy it exists! I just wish it were better maintained. The two tennis courts were empty on a Saturday afternoon when I went for my visit. Because of the proximity to the duck pond, despite the gates, there were some droppings inside the court (minimal, but couldn't help but cringe a little if a tennis ball bounced close) There are also some cracks on the court that can alter your play a bit, but I'm not a pro or even that picky and it didn't bother me that much! I still had a lot of fun playing tennis at this little park!
