I…read morequeued for around 10 minutes to be served to be told by the lady working there that I couldn't pay it in as she had "already done her coins". This was at 5pm. Not a very good service for those who work and wish to use the post office after work. Fair enough if that is their policy, but maybe have a notice up letting people know so they don't queue unnecessarily.

There are multiple Post Office counters and a small newsagents section selling slightly overpriced drinks. The services offered by this branch are typical to what you'd expect to find in a Post Office, the opening hours are OK, it would be nice to see Sunday openings with the opening hours being the pretty generic 9 am to 5:30 pm, closing half an hour earlier on Saturday's. 3* - Pretty much an average Post Office, there were no self-serve postage machines which I do prefer as it often saves time waiting, there could easily be room to add them in the future and I hope they do.

The service was quick even though they didn't have many staff members working, the staff didn't seem too friendly/welcoming, but they sorted out what I needed, which is all I can ask of them really, the open hours are average during the week but at the weekend, they close at 1 pm on Saturday and don't open till Monday which is a shame. The store could have been slightly cleaner and free of clutter, I do think it would have made more sense to keep their nearby location within The Ellesmere Centre, which was a better location than this one, but again that can be said about most Post Offices which switched from crown operated to private. 3*

Does what it says on the tin really doesn't it?…read more I'll be fair, it's a well set up office and each postcode has it's own spot when you come to pick up a package. I have quite a lot of stuff sent over from the US and it often means I have to pay some sort of customs charge and have to pick it up from the delivery office, so I'm here a fair bit, but the longest I've had to wait is no more than 2/3 minutes - which I can imagine wouldn't be the case for some busier towns/cities. Not much else to say other than a well organised and ran place.

The Post Office... whether it is here or in the U.S. it always seems to be very busy and it really…read moreis never a quick stop. The set up of this one however, seemed to make waiting not so bad. Forget the queue, take a number and have a seat on the red sofas. I did notice that there were a couple of people who were confused by this and tried to queue up only for the staff to inform them that they needed a number. Of course, it got a bit more interesting when they were trying to direct the customers to the computer to get a number from behind the counter. As usual there are currency and passport services available. When you get a number from the computer, you do need to specify what service you are in need of so you can be allocated the correct number. After I had taken a number and plopped myself onto a red sofa, I noticed to the right of the door are self-service kiosks which you do not need a number for. They were quite busy as well with one staff member helping out if there are any problems. Typically I use self-service kiosks in the U.S., but since they were just as busy as the staffed desks and I wasn't entirely sure what post service I needed, I chose to continue waiting. They have packaging supplies for sale as well as some travel items (baggage tags, plug adapters, etc.). I also noticed that the ATM was inside next to the self-service kiosk, but was out of order on the day that I was there. The lady that helped me was very friendly and explained the different options of services available to me so I could make a decision about what I wanted. As I was being helped, they were trying to get more staff at the desks to speed up service. Kind of wish they would implement the number system in more post offices!

The store looks…read morelarger from the outside than it actually is, the store is still a pretty good size and is a little larger than other Superdrug stores you'd find in a smaller town. For some reason, they only had one set of doors working, I totally understand having one set of doors to go in and out the store for COVID reasons, but that didn't seem to be the case, and with no signs on the doors on the far right which weren't working either, I was left to look like an idiot trying to pull and then push the door only to realise it wasn't in use. When I recommended they added a sign to the door, a staff member just looked at me, without much of a response. Some good deals, prices did seem a little high compared to nearby Boots, but this is something which seems to change regularly as prices fluctuate with promotional offers. The store was mostly clean which is also good. The nearby store at Middlebrook in the Horwich area of Bolton does have more facilities, for example, there you will find a Health Clinic which isn't a feature here. The opening hours here also mean this store closes slightly earlier, at 5:30 Monday-Saturday, compared to the slightly later time of 6 pm in Horwich. 3* - A-OK, decent Superdrug store, although nearby stores in Horwich, Leigh and Manchester are better.

They have a good selection of stock from cosmetics, toiletries, hair care, perfumes and cologne, holiday essentials, magazines, confectionery and baby items etc. It's always worth a look in this store as they often have multiple offers on which make them much more appealing then many of their competitors. The staff are generally attentive and helpful in this branch and they often have their full amount of tills operational to avoid unnecessary queuing.
