The pool is basic but functional having an inside and outside pool and seating area. The bar and entertainment is great fun without being overwhelming. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Dawlish Sands Holiday Park is an excellent family based holiday park, the park itself is small and…read morefriendly, and has static caravans for hire, graded in bronze, silver and gold. Pets are welcome, but you need to book early as there are limited pet caravans. The entertainment is excellent, very professionally run, with shows by the entertainment staff as well as outside acts. The site has an indoor and outdoor heated pool. Its a 10 minute walk to the beach, 30 second walk from reception to the bus stop. Ideal for touring round Exeter, Torquay, or up on Dartmoor.

How right the first reviewer is. We had had a great weeks holiday - didn't mind that the spotlights…read morein kitchen were not working which we were told would be fixed but we're not. Didn't mention having to clear dog poo from parking area, and front garden which couldn't possibly have been left by the small yorkie we had with us. The problem arose about 20 minutes after we had left when I received a nasty rude email from Tracy to say that she had been called to the cottage by her mother who was close to tears by the disgusting state we had left their home in. Never in 4 years of letting had they ever experienced such a state and asking for £50. To say I was upset was an understatement, we had left the property in a tidy condition - admittedly we left 2 bags of sorted recycling as there didn't seem to be anywhere to put it- with hindsight should have taken it home with us. Here is their catch all clause in t&c 'you agree to leave property as you found it'. I asked for specifics of the 'disgusting' condition with photo's if possible - clearly if it was that bad you would have these. What I got back was that I was responsible under clause 9 of the agreement and that we hadn't cleaned the oven ( it wasn't dirty, washed the floors and the place was in disarray. The cleaner is allocated 2 hours to clean a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom property and she was still there after 4 hours. At this point I must say my family and I do not live in hovels we have stayed in holiday rentals for over 40 years and never have we been charged extra for cleaning. It is not the cost which is the issue it was the nastiness of the email. By the way I sent the extra - I couldn't be doing with the aggravation of dealing with these type of people. It is also worth noting that on arrival we were told of the people who had stayed the week before who had a black Labrador which left hairs is the property which it took them 2 hours to get rid of- wonder how much extra they were charged - a nice little earner! The site is in an elevated position, so is unsuitable for some people with mobility difficulties. The accomodation is mainly caravans, but there is also chalets available. There is an indoor swimming pool, a bar and club area. The views from the bar are lovely as you overlook the countryside of Devon, and the beaches of Teignmouth and the surrounding area. The site has special events througout the year, such as theme weekends, pets are welcome on the site. Good basic site.
