Front desk team was super friendly, explained all of the amenities, and gave us 2 complimentary drink coupons for each night's stay. The coupons were good for a drink from the cooler in the lobby, or a select drink from the hotel bar (sangria, margarita, or beer). Our room was clean, and had everything we needed for our short stay. The gym is a little small (weights, 1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, 1 bike) but there is enough to get a workout in. We will definitely be back the next time we have an event at The Armory.

Hey friends! I decided to stay a couple extra days after a work trip in Queens. I chose this hotel…read morebecause of the price and location not so much the reviews. Check-in was easy. Customer service was friendly. I was informed of the $150 deposit & paid with my card. I was given two "free" drink vouchers for the bar located inside the hotel. My room was clean and well stocked upon entering. It is a very compact hotel room, which I knew before booking. If you're looking for storage and space, this is not the hotel for you. The room features a pull out desk which I thought was unique. There's a classic radio on the desk, on theme with the hotel, pretty cool. The bed is up against the window, which I loved. The sink is an unbearable low height. If you're above 5'5 you'll be uncomfortable using the sink. The sink also doesn't project far out, so when using it water runs everywhere. The shower is nice. The glass is not frosted, it is see through; so be mindful who you book a room with lol. Though the shower is nice, there was a musty smell. Not sure if it was the drain or the walls from lack of ventilation. There definitely is a pungent weed smell throughout the hallways. Also, the walls are THIN. Check-out was easy. I was also able to check my luggage after checkout and pick them up after a day of sightseeing. My deposit took 30 days to be returned. I noticed that about $42 was missing from my deposit. After speaking with the hotel, I learned there is a $21 "amenities fee." I asked what amenities are included; the restaurant, the gym and the cocktail vouchers. Upon check-in, I was told the vouchers were complimentary. In what world do you pay for something complimentary?! An amenities fee for a hotel that doesn't even have a pool is crazy. Unfortunately, even after the great customer service and unique room features, I will not be returning.

"This is the changing point of the heights"…read more I gotta say I was very impressed walking past this newly built hotel!walking across the street this hotel caught my eye and I was actually waiting around to go to a yelp event (cause I didn't really want to truck it back to the Bronx just to wait) so I decided, with the amount of time I had left to walk in and see what this place was about! "The lobby" It was extremely hot that day and I already had a button up shirt and a tie so coming into the lobby the AC hit my entire body instantly as the doors opened up! I noticed the front desked people were up front, they greeted me upon me walking in and I asked if I could have some water (I was dehydrated so I thought I asked) and they actually gave me a bottle of water! So that in itself was a awesome gesture in my book. So I took a seat the front lobby seats were colorful and literally so comfortable I was dozing off lol "The bathroom" So of course I wanted to do some sight-seeing so I walked around and found their bathroom and it was so clean and fresh I was more than happy to use it. "Rooms, rooms, rooms" From walking from floor to floor (cause I was walking around looking in the building) I noticed the rooms (thanks the cleaning lady) being finished and it was a descent size room with a king size bed, with a huge TV and the bathroom from what I saw was very upscale was very impressive! "The results/overall" I'd would love to throw events here! I noticed that they were more space for things to be done so in curious to see what in stores for this hotel. This place just opened and already they choose to open in the heights which could be a hit or miss but already they are making a excellent name for themselves here in the heights! I wish them all but the best and I will be back to try this place out!

I would say one star for this hotel is generous and that is only because it was clean. The people…read morerunning the place don't seem to know what they're doing and they don't even accept credit cards. How do run a hotel without accepting credit cards unless it's a brothel? Unfortunately We had no comforter or blankets on the bed. I guess they expected us to use the bed spread as a blanket, which I could only tolerate because the hotel was so new. The towels were very rough and too small. Although it's a brand new hotel the light in the bathroom didn't work and it took ten minutes to get hot water. On top of that...the balcony door would not lock. Not too safe in NY City. The value for the dollar was low. They have the nerve to charge $149 and actually raise the rates on the weekend as if $149 CASH wasn't punishing enough. I think, unless you can't drive or take the subway, your better off finding a hotel in another neighborhood... unless the Cliff Hotel dramatically improves their offering.

I had lost my purse, which had my house keys and credit card in it, so all I had with me was my phone. I asked the hotel if I could pay with Apple Pay since I didn't have my card, and I just needed a safe place to stay until morning. The receptionist told me they only accept cash or card. I then asked if I could book through Booking.com and pay online, would they let me check in. The receptionist said yes. So I made a reservation and paid upfront through Booking.com. But when I showed him the confirmation, he suddenly told me I couldn't check in until 2 p.m. He hadn't said that earlier. Even though I had already paid, he then told me I had to wait *outside* the hotel. It was 5 a.m., I was alone, a woman in a vulnerable situation, and I had gone out of my way just to find a safe place. I was shocked. When I asked for a refund, the hotel refused. I had spent the last bit of money I had, thinking I'd at least have somewhere safe to stay. Being turned away like that--with proof of payment--was heartbreaking. The receptionist should have told me from the start that I wouldn't be allowed to check in until 2 p.m. Asking someone who's already in distress to wait outside in the early hours of the morning, despite having same day reservation, is completely unacceptable. And refusing to give me a refund made everything worse. This whole experience was deeply disappointing and honestly, shameful.

My room on the 15th Floor, 1510, was one that hadn't been remodeled yet, so it was definitely dated but was glad to know that the property is investing to make it better. Despite the room being dated, it was very comfortable and in standard Doubletree décor, including had all the amenities you'd expect to find. The room was very clean, and comfortable. I did not have an opportunity to see one of the renovated floors, but a co-worker of mine had a room on a renovated floor and was quite happy with it, although did not go into detail as to why. When I checked in there was an older gentleman at the front desk, I didn't catch his name but, found him not a personable as other front desk staff I encountered during my stay. Moreover, there was another older gentleman who worked in the breakfast area and on both days, I was there he was barely visible. Even my co-workers noticed how inattentive he was, and I even noticed that other guests in the area also commented the same. I'm not suggesting bay any means that the fact that they were older had anything to do with it, it was just that I didn't catch either of their names, and this is the only way I can identify them. The meeting we had was hosted by the hotel adequately and the hotel staff supporting it were very attentive, but some of the more basic things like extension cords for our team to plug in our laptops for the day's meeting were not automatically provided by hotel, and you'd think that a business meeting scheduled would have a detail like that taken into consideration. I'm not sure if my company will have another meeting planned at this hotel in the future, but if so, I hope the overall experience improves to up to par with other Doubletree properties I have stayed at around the country. I plus was that parking was plentiful and complementary!
