The handyman that I had been using I trusted because he helped my dad, so when he said he needed new pumps or everything was working great, I paid and just assumed it was done correctly. Last summer when it wasn't working correctly, he just never responded at all. I called Case Construction and Roofing to see if they had someone to shut it off in the Fall and they did. I called them to come get it running this year. There were 2 giant holes that just made the water run right out and never even get the pads wet. He asked if I have had a larger water bill and I have, like a LOT more the last couple of summers and I just assumed it was the sprinklers. They told me that my "handyman" put duct tape over the hole. He also said that one of the pumps wasn't even hooked up, the other one didn't work and the last one was dying. They also told me I needed new nets as they hadn't been replaced like I had thought. There was also a hornet's nest that had been in there and the water line had so much calcium in it that it was barely getting any water through. I bought 3 new pumps and the nets. He fixed it beautifully! Every pump is hooked up and running, the water line is working, the holes are fixed and the hornets nest is gone. My house is COLD again and I'm in tears of gratitude that Case Construction and Roofing is honest and fixed this for me. I've used other roofers and to put it simply, Alta Vista does it better. Clearly there is a reason this company was voted Park City's Best twice and Neighborhood Favorites three times. Joe and the roofing crew were exceptional. During the meeting at the house for an estimate, Joe instilled confidence, a sense of fairness, and was candid. He was easy to talk to, very friendly, and addressed all of my concerns and some I was unaware of. The conditions of the work agreement were very fair, comprehensive, and far more favorable than other scopes of work and bids. Joe set a schedule and held true to it so we weren't left waiting for the work to get underway. He stayed in touch with us and was quick to respond to calls and texts. He also stopped in often to check in with me and exercise job oversight. His expertise in the business was evident. Joe took the time to do an after installation walk around with me and assured us that if any issues arise, Alta Vista would be quick to respond. The roofing crew was as equally impressive. Guillermo was the crew boss and was incredible. The crew showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves everyday, clearly were seasoned professionals, and were courteous and respectful of us and our property. In addition to all the things you'd expect with a re-roof, Guillermo installed a metal slip-sheet to shed snow and ice(obviously a very skilled task), custom fabricated sheet metal joints where roof pitches meet, and custom fabricated a intricate multi-faceted metal piece to address a roof joint water shed problem. The crew wasn't watching the clock, they worked to do the job the right. They treated our home like it was their own.

BlackDog came highly recommended to us. After looking at our 11'x11' kitchen, they were amicable…read moreand persuasive about the quality of their work and how long it would take them, especially given the pandemic. We hired them to remodel our small kitchen and replace the living room carpet with wood flooring to match our existing wood floor. They gave us their 5-week schedule for our project up front. The actual time they took was 5.5 months. Communication throughout the project, between their project manager and everyone (workers and client) was very poor and at times abusive. The flooring subcontractor appeared on site unscheduled and without preparing us. We were advised people and pets had to vacate the premises immediately for at least four days. To add insult to injury, after jumping thru hoops to find somewhere to stay, upon our return, the new floor did not even match the old and would have to be redone, forcing us to vacate yet again. The subs who installed the appliances had never installed appliances before. We were told that once water to the kitchen was turned back on, we could start using the dishwasher. After we ran the dishwasher, we uncovered massive water damage. Blackdog discovered they had connected only one of two dishwasher hoses. The dishwasher had drained water directly onto the kitchen floor, which was covered with blankets and cardboard at the time. Rough plumbing was scheduled the first week when the walls were bare, but not done until the BlackDog project manager realized the new sink couldn't drain. They had to cut through three of our brand-new cabinets to access and reconfigure pipes. In the process of moving the new appliances and island around the house, BlackDog damaged the cabinetry and island and the granite top for the island came unglued. Twice, the electrical wiring that fed power to the island was pulled up through a hole in the floor that was cut in the middle of the walkway instead of underneath the island. Twice, it had to be rectified. Although our interaction with the company's owner began pleasantly enough, when the project was almost complete and it came down to money, things got ugly, causing huge amounts of stress for our entire family. It took weeks to resolve and finally get the job completed. All in all, it was a terrible experience for us. On the bright side, there are a few good people who work for or with BlackDog who knew what they were doing and who spared us a worse experience. They know who they are.
