    Delicious cocktails!

The service and food was amazing. Santa Cruz has needed an elevated experience. This is a great place for dinner or drinks and appetizers. The place is high class. Reminds me of top SF restaurants. Beautiful views and inside and outside seating. I look forward for coming back.

Fabulous! We stayed at the La Bahia and thought we should check out High Tide given convenience and the menu looked great. They have a pri-fix menu with 3 courses for $90pp or 4 courses for $110pp. We did the 3-course and everything was delicious. My choices were: -Crab Cakes (perfectly crunchy and delicious) -Sole (the curry sauce was AMAZING) -Cheese plate (good option if you don't want sweets) My partner got: -Hamachi crudo (beautiful and refreshing) -Filet (spot on cook and perfect seasoning) -Rum Baba (not overly sweet, perfect amount) Everything was well prepared and well seasoned. Their staff was excellent. Our server was friendly and had the perfect balance of attentiveness without being at the table too much. They play as team and the other server explained each course in detail and you could tell really took pride in what is being served. Cocktails also have an Asian flair. I tried the miso martini and it was very interesting and savory. I would absolutely return if we are in Santa Cruz for an elevated dinner experience. Service was much better than the hotel.

We went with another couple for the special NYE menu. All of the dishes were outstanding. Views from the second floor location are great and we got to see the Roaring Camp holiday train pass by multiple times. I remembered to snap pics of all the dishes as they were served.

I can't recall all of our dishes, but standouts were mushroom risotto, hamachi, crab cakes, filet mignon.

But we got seated right away for three people. We got seated towards the back of the restaurant where the other bar is. I start to look at my menu for a couple minutes and I noticed something weird happened that I was in a different spot. And then I realized that I was sitting on a rotating platform! It was super cool because you always get a rotation to view the ocean many times. I only ordered one drink, because I had a 2 1/2 hour drive home, which was really good and my bistro steak (medium rare) was so good. It had a really nice char and taste to it. I'm definitely coming back to check out their other entrées and hopefully have more time to have a couple cocktails!

We were seated immediately on a Saturday, which was nice. The AC/fans were blasting so it was actually really chilly inside, but you've got a great view of the ocean and the revolving bar is a bit of a trip to watch! I got the honey macadamia nut prawns, my wife got the tamarind Pua'a, and the kid got coconut prawns. The food was decent- not bad but nothing notable in our opinion. Perhaps our thoughts were swayed by the prices- a little expensive we thought. Decent lunch but a one and done place for us.

No wonder everything is red, so you can't see the slime covering everything. Secondly, the bartender with the beard and glasses thinks he's cooler than a steaming pile of poo. I walked in with my girlfriend, and the bar was pretty much empty. They had three people behind the bar, but they didn't greet us for over 5 minutes. The bartender finally walked over and said, "What do you want?" I asked for a bar menu, and he said it was on the wall. I asked if there was a printed version; he said no, but I could get up walk across the long ass sticky bar and look at some half assed tiny writing on the wall that you could barely read, even if you were up close to it. Then he walked away to chat with his friends. At that point, I left. If I were the owner, I would be concerned that there is a bartender turning away business, especially when I hear the industry is struggling and alcohol sales are WAAAAAAYYYY down. Good luck. Honestly, go down the street to Ulterior; they are sooo nice!!! They actually said hi when I walked in and gave me a menu what a concept. I made sure to leave them a BIG and I mean BIG TIP!!
