He let us know he could get the repair done within 2-3 days and was great at letting us know the repair date and time. We highly recommend United Iron Works and Tom and will definitely go back to them in the future!

I used them a second time to put a railing on a balcony that faces the street. We had an open picket railing and wanted something that would give us more privacy. The steel plate on my wrought iron front gate was dented and scratched during outdoor remodeling…read morelast year. The paint was terribly faded and I was looking into powder coating it. I didn't want a fresh powder coat job on a damaged gate, so I Yelped for welding services close to me. I called Precision Welding and Adan answered and came over to my house within the hour. He was going to give me an estimate for replacing the steel plate. The gate is a little smaller than 4' x 6'. To my surprise, he told me they could take it over to his guy that does powder coating. That sealed the deal for me. We texted back and forth and we set up an appointment to get the job done. My gate was removed on a Tuesday and was reinstalled as good as new by Friday afternoon (I was told Friday, Saturday at the latest). This was important to me because I have three dogs and a pool. I'm old school and like to have a written contract, but I realize that nowadays texting serves the same purpose. Great craftsmanship, excellent communication, great value, all in timely fashion. I highly recommend Precision Welding. As a bonus, I had my spring replaced with a self closing hinge. I have needed that for decades. The old setup would slam shut, especially on windy days, cracking the brick wall. I've been afraid I would have to replace my wall. Note that the side rails need to be painted. We didn't want to remove them because they are inside my new pavers. I received a can of paint and will do that myself.

We're very pleased. Patrick and Fernando did a terrific job. We had a rough idea of what we'd…read morewanted when we first met them, and the process of finalizing the finer details was really straightforward. The job was pretty swift, considering it was all custom. They measured carefully, and discussed potential issues with us and how we might like to work around them (mostly issues of our old house having walls not perfectly true, and of building codes having changed a lot since our former railing had been installed). All made sense and we came up with agreeable workarounds. They did initial fabrication on site, to make sure that everything fit perfectly, and then did the finishing work and painting off site. The final install was meticulously precise. The new railing is very sturdy. Photos show completed railing BEFORE we installed new finished flooring. It is bolted to the subfloor and to some reinforcement blocking that they installed under the subfloor for us, as well. Overall, we're quite happy with it. For something like this our goal had been to install a railing that will last for 50 years, and I think they met that goal for us.

They are beyond versatile (do all kinds of iron work), as well as being skilled artisan craftsmen. Sam and his dad (a master iron craftsman) are the loveliest of people-- communicative, honest, easy to deal with, and invested in doing the best work possible. They take great pride in their work. It took me years to find someone who could imagine the kind of railing design I needed for my 1926 uneven unique wall. No one but their company suggested this design and were able to pull it off without a hitch. The pictures speak for themselves. Look no further if you are wanting a fantastically skilled company, reasonable prices, and gems to work with. THANK YOU EXOTIC IRON WORKS!!

Their craftsmanship is flawless: every weld is clean, the powder-coat is even, and the wood inlays sit perfectly flush with the metal frame. Sam's father personally checked each panel for plumb and level, and the team worked long days to finish ahead of schedule without cutting corners. They left the site spotless, even hauling away the old fencing and sweeping the driveway. Beyond the technical excellence, communication was a breeze. Sam texted progress photos, confirmed small details (hinge style, post-top finials) before committing, and honored the original quote to the penny. If you want ironwork that's equal parts art and engineering--delivered by people who treat your project like their own home--hire Exotic Iron Works. The results are stunning, and the experience is just as impressive.
