Dear Rust medical Center Patient Relations Department,…read more I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the care I received during my visit on 11/05/2025 at your hospital. I was referred by my car insurance and my physical therapist to receive an MRI due to ongoing symptoms after my accident. During my visit, I reported experiencing numbness down my arm and leg and occasional loss of bladder control -- symptoms that are serious and potentially neurological. Despite clearly explaining this to both the attending doctor and the head nurse, I was told that my condition was not considered an emergency and that I should follow up with an outside doctor. I waited approximately six hours to be seen, only to be dismissed without any imaging or further evaluation. When I expressed my concerns to the head nurse, I was told there was nothing he could do. I was given a steroid injection and some pain medication, and afterward, I was told the steroid could raise my blood sugar levels. I am prediabetic and currently taking medication to manage my blood sugar, yet no one checked or monitored my glucose before or after administering these medications. This was concerning and felt careless, especially given my medical condition. I left the hospital feeling disregarded, frustrated, and worried for my health. The lack of urgency, communication, and attention to my symptoms and medical background was unacceptable. I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and that I receive a response explaining why my symptoms and referral were not taken seriously, and why medications with known risks were administered without proper consideration or follow-up. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward

XRANM on Jefferson…read more See my previous review of Presbyterian Radiology at Kaseman and Downtown. After 3 weeks of trying to get imaging done at Presbyterian I gave up and called XRANM. I called on a Wednesday. The scheduler said someone had cancelled and I could get tested the next day, Thursday. I felt encouraged. While scheduling she asked many questions including if I have any sensitivity to the contrast agent they were going to use for the MRI. I told her that I received a gadolinium contrast agent several years ago for an MRI and got hives afterward. At that previous test, the radiologist there told me that there are two types of gadolinium based contrast agents, linear and macrocyclic. And that if I needed contrast in the future, to make sure they use the macrocyclic type because it is much less likely to cause a reaction. On Thursday morning I got a text from XRANM to preregister. There were many questions to answer including if I have a sensitivity to gadolinium contrast. I answered in the affirmative. I went to the appointment at noon. Before the testing would begin there was more paperwork to fill out. There was a question concerning sensitivity to the contrast agent and I answered yes. The technician was Desiree. She had me change into their pajamas and then started looking at the paperwork and said, we can't test you now because you have a sensitivity to the contrast agent. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated. I asked her if the contrast agent they use was macrocyclic and she had no idea. I asked her to get a bottle of the agent so we could read the label. Nothing on the label. I asked can we just do the part of the testing that did not include the contrast. She did not know. She called a male person and they stepped away from me to discuss so that I could not hear what they were saying. This guy came back to me and said he would talk to the radiologist. He came back later and said they would not do the testing. I told them that this was not acceptable since I had informed them the day before on the phone with their scheduler and during Thursday morning by text. This information was in their system and they should have contacted me late Wednesday or Thursday to cancel or reschedule. I had to drive in from Santa Fe for this debacle. I believe that employees at XRANM are poorly trained both technically and administratively. Administratively they are not communicating with each other. And technically, why should I know more about the contrast agent than the woman shooting it into my veins? As I was walking out they said wait, we have to call your pharmacy so that you can start taking some drugs before we reschedule you. I just shook my head and told them I was going home and would take care of myself as I have always done. Good riddance to you.

Walking into the glass facade, is the reception area. Large space, and at 3:30 on a Friday it was quite busy. RECEPTION: I was greeted at the counter and given several forms to complete. Upon doing so, I sat for a few minutes before being called by name. REGISTRATION: I followed a young woman to the registration area. She took my ids and chatted with me informally. I felt like I had an identity and this was a good start. She scanned in my documents and I was all set. CHANGING AREA: I was escorted to the changing / waiting area. The wall art is very artsy and the changing / waiting room is quite calming. Given a medical gown, I was instructed to just remove my clothes from the waist up and don a gown - place my stuff in a black tote bag and wait. Within minutes I was called. MAMMOGRAM: The tech was in casual clothes and I told her I liked the informal feel. She said that on Fridays they get to be casual. So, the exam was typical. She was quick and efficient. We had to retake on image, but it only took a few minutes. Viola. Done. So I was escorted back to the changing/waiting area. DEXA SCAN: A few minutes later, I was again called by another woman and she walked me a few steps to the next exam room. She asked me a few questions, confirming everything I had already completed on the forms that were scanned. She asked me to remove my shoes and then she weighed and took my height measurement. Next, she had me lie on an exam table and told me to breath normally. The unit above scanned all the right places and then in minutes I was sitting up and putting my shoes on again. I returned to the changing area, put my top clothing back on and was ready to leave. From start to finish, I was in and out within an hour's time and that was so appreciated. Best of all, I received my Dexa scan results on MyChart the following morning. This is a very well-run, organized machine and I applaud them! Everyone was very full of smiles and there was not a moment when I felt pressured or felt tension amongst the staff.
