They have a variety of veterinarians here. I have seen them all and like all with the exception of Dr Bolbach. She didn't listen to what I was asking even after I rephrased it several times. She thought she knew the answer to what I was saying so her ears closed and that was it. She was very curt. My favorite vets are Dr. Hyland, Fanning and Jones. The techs are also hit and miss. Some have very poor hygiene and severelylack the people skills to work with the public. You should come to work with clean hair. They are pricey here but they also have the latest technology. I would rather pay a little more for the important stuff than worry my pet isn't getting the best care. In general I would recommend them. read more

We are new to the area (from NJ) and were searching for an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital. We found High Point Animal Hospital. We brought our 8 year old Golden Retriever to them for a second opinion on his panting. They were well staffed and the doctor seemed very thorough. The assistant was a bit short though ... perhaps she was having a bad day or she was stressed because they were busy. At the end of the day, they shed no new light on our pet but if you're looking for a new veterinary practice, consider them. We won't be switching from our current practice but nice to know there is a good option in the Toledo area. Ciao. read more

We have been going to High Point for 14 years. Overall, it is a good facility. The staff is knowledgeable and takes time to answer my questions. This is the only vet we've used so I don't have anything to compare it to but we are satisfied with the service we receive. There are times the front desk workers seem a little unfriendly and don't smile or seem warm, which is why I don't give them 5 stars. read more

Have been going there for 20 years with 4 different dogs. They are the best. All the vets are so expert and take time to explain everything and follow through. The tech staff and office staff are also great and patient. I have never had anything to complain about and it has been a great experience from a caring team from all my 20 years bringing my dogs to highpoint. read more

I have taken animals here (two dogs and two cats) and I would not recommend it. They used to have good service and vets years ago but it it's run very poorly now (there is woman with long blonde hair that runs it very rude and unprofessional). Multiple times they have made mistakes on my appointments or kept me waiting 30-45 minutes in the lobby. On one visit a veterinary assistant cornered my Aussie and SAT on my dog to keep him still which terrified him. Today I took a sick dog after waiting two weeks for an appointment and they insisted they didn't have the appointment (not the first time) and said they could see her in a month. The receptionist was very odd and unprofessional instead of problem solving she just stared at me. They don't actually care about animals my heartfelt opinion! read more

We have been at High Point Animal Hospital for 16 years and we are so happy with the care and treatment they have showed our furbabies. The staff is consistent, which allows real relationships to form giving a deep depth of knowledge of your pets and their health. The entire staff is kind and helpful. The facility is spacious and clean, also has a nice outdoor sitting area should you be there an extended time period. Recently they joined the AAHA, which is the only organization that accredits companion animal veterinary hospitals in North America. This reflects and recognizes the excellent care provided and reaffirms why we take our pets here. read more

I have been going to High Point in Maumee for at least 20 years. They used to be wonderful! That being said, let me tell you about the last 6 weeks dealing with them with our new cat. She is what they term "spicy" because she is temperamental and will be aggressive when scared. Because of this she did not get a thorough first exam. Was told they would do it when she was under while getting fixed. I immediately noticed an abscess by her tail that evening. They said they couldn't get her in for five days even though it was in an acute inflamed and painful state. Ended up taking her to emergency and paying the fee to ease her discomfort. $350 later! Next issue, eight weeks into having her with us, and our other two cats, I see a worm crawl out and back in to her bum! Ok, what's the next step? Stool sample. I isolate her, get it and take it in only to be told it showed no parasites. Being confused I explained what I saw with my own two eyes. With more extensive questioning I find out the sample had to be less than 12 hours old. You think they would have told me that? They then said I could come pick up anti-diarrhea medicine. I said for what, I never said she was having diarrhea! Not only was I treated rudely, they have dropped the ball twice in regards to the care of our new kitten! Totally incompetent! Go somewhere else! I'm done. read more

The last time I took my 15 year old cat in about three months ago I wanted her euthanized. The doctor insisted I medicate her. The vet at the time said if she didn't get better I could put her down. Now my cat is having explosive diarrhea all over my carpet which I have to replace because I'm selling my house. Called them today to bring her in for euthanasia and Joan and office manager Nikki told me I cannot electively euthanize her that the doctor will make that call and that if the doctor determines she can be medicated I cannot put her down. I explained that I am out of town 4 days a week and my 3 cats stay alone, well set up with food, water and litter and that a neighbor checks on them to make sure they are all moving around in the house and happy. Joan and Nikki made it very clear if I wanted to euthanize my cat that she would be taken from me and re-homed! I was astonished to say the least. I called the Humane Society and told them my delimma. They said they would not take the cat because she was ill. So I imagine what they might really do is use my old cat for experimental purposes? I don't know but no one will take an old cat with explosive diarrhea and incur the costs of keeping her alive? I have taken at least 7 rescue dogs, Rembrandt (who was accidentally killed at there original facility across the street, Bandit, Sebastian, SugarPop, Stanford, Daisy & Tia and my current 3 rescue cats to Highpoint for years and spent thousands of dollars caring for my animals, then euthanizing and cremating them paying Highpoint Animal in full at the time of all services. Now they refuse to euthanize my very old, very ill cat upon my request because I am not home to care for her? I will NO LONGER SEEK SERVICES FROM Highpoint Animal Hospital and I will never get another animal since this is the kind of treatment I have to look forward to. As a senior citizen I cannot believe after all these years and thousand of dollars they would not let me put her down. I am so distraught I have to wait another 10days while she suffers then drive 3 hours to Indiana to have her euthanized! Meanwhile she spurts diarrhea. I am also going to ANGIE's LIST HIGHPOINT ANIMAL HOSPITAL as well. I AM GRATEFUL to the Trinity there is an Indiana vet who will put her down and cremate her. Following that horrific challenging and dreadfully sad decision I have to recarpet my entire house (you can't just do one room because the carpet is supposed to be the same) a $10,000 cost. Thanks for not putting my poor dying cat down HIGH POINT ANIMAL HOSPITAL. It's all about the money! SHAME ON HIGHPOINT ANIMAL HOSPITAL! read more

I changed vets from Banfield to Highpoint at least 4 years ago. I needed a vet that was familiar with kidney disease as my cat had been diagnosed with this. My pets are the most important thing to me and I give them the best care. What I found at Highpoint was an entire staff that felt the same way about my pets. They understood my priorities, dedication, and needs I had in mind for my cat. Unfortunately my cat passed away in November 2014 but the doctors (Dr. Kimberly Fanning and Monica Slovak) were by my side through the entire journey. Always making the time to call me back and give the time needed for appointments. My cat, Mazy Loubug, was dropped off at the vet as she wasn't doing well and unfortunately passed away during that time. My husband notified me and Dr. Slovak was available to speak with me right away answering all my questions and concerns. The tech doing the incineration was able to explain the process so that I was comfortable also. My other cat was just diagnosed with kidney disease and I'm starting that walk down the same road of caring for an elderly cat with kidney disease. Knowing that I can count on the Highpoint staff makes this journey a little easier. I have become with Drs. Boop, Jones, Fanning and Slovak and can't say enough about them and their staff. I have and will continue to refer people to Highpoint. read more

They seem like they don't have time to spend with you and your animal to help figure out a real solution. I've taken my dog there a dozen times looking for a solution and all they've done was push prescriptions the entire time, even when I was trying to express how I wanted to do further testing to figure out the real issue. Instead they practically ignored my concerns but we're happy to treat the symptoms of the issue every time with a $100-150 bill. read more

They could NOT diagnose my dog & wouldn't listen to what I tried to tell them & they kicked around the idea of her having cushings disease & she suffered until she finally died a HORRIBLE death at home...even though she was hospitalized there several times~but they said she was BETTER every time BUT SHE WAS NOT & I had to take her right back there AGAIN & AGAIN!! They did MANY tests & we spared NO expense with NO POSITIVE RESULTS! I trusted them! I had been going there for umpteen years & they were good UNTIL something BAD was happening & I NEEDED THEM! It seemed like they were just milking us for as MUCH MONEY as they could without ANY RESULTS! SHES GONE!!! PLEASE~GET A SECOND OPINION where EVER you go! I take my cat there, and have taken strays there as well. The veterinarians are very friendly and informative. They also give you options and will answer any questions you have. When I had to put my dog down, they were very caring and sensitive to my grief. read more

I took my cat there to have his ears checked. He caught something and was dead in two weeks. The doctor who "put him to sleep" gave a lovely speech but my cat is still gone. I will grieve for him for the rest of my life. He was the feline light of my life. I will never go to High Point again. read more
