DJ 4 years ago he can' sit that well anymore

I am very sad to write this review. I have been going to Temperance Animal Hospital for 30 years. My 14 1/2 year old GSP/Weim. had a seizure or something in January . I called Laps of Love to get him euthanized. By the time they arrived we decided he was ok and put him on Hospice. Happily he is doing ok. But because of anxiety, he collapses when he goes to the vet no matter how many meds I give him. So I decided to not take him in June for his routine check up. First time he has missed. He has been on prescription dog food for around 2 years. When I ordered it, I received a call saying they didn't want to fill it because he missed his check up 3 1/2 months ago. I was shocked that they even considered not filling a dogs food who may not be alive for much longer. I

    Doesn't want to come out.

This is a bit pricey. All staff are loving and caring with your furbaby. The vets will be honest if you're willing to accepr.

Took our sweet kitten to get spayed and am so glad that we choose Temperance Hospital- they took such good care of her and even called a couple days after she was home to check in on her. We got a little worried because she was so active no matter what we did- they looked her over and reassured that she was okay. I truly thank this staff at Temperance for being so loving and kind to our sweet girl. Thank you Temperance Hospital...

We live in Point Place an have been regulars when it came to vet care at Shoreland . NO MORE, they no longer have the Vet Surgeon Dr Brown and his wife Dr Riker booth super excellent Vets. Now they have a Corporation of pencil pushers running their company from a distance that are clueless when it actually comes to the business of pet care. Its a shame, i think Dr. Thornton DVM would be very sad to see the practice he began afew years ago in the situation its in now. Shoreland, office staff are great an Docs ok too the place at Shoreland lost out when a corporation bought them out. It really made a difference and caused me to realize its just not the place for my fur kids. So I went to a vet that is in charge of his office and is Awesome with his patients, Dr Mason. I kept that Pt. Place Shoreland vet because its near to my home in case of Emergence, Why if its "by appointment only" (as advertised) whats the point? Shoreland has a great vet Dr Starkey full time and the other vets travel to other locations as needed. It does not allow for a good relationship B/T vet and Patient. We are going to Dr. Mason at His hospital located on Lewis Ave Now. I very happy and the pups recognize Dr Mason and feel at ease with Him and office staff, a big difference. I also noticed Eric wrote a post about his dog becoming paralyzed. I had a Puggle she experienced loss of use of back legs. Its not any vet, unfortunately it happens. Blame games are for the small minded. My Puggle Holly did recover with Dr.Shawn Browns formerly a Shorland vet owner, he was able to help Holly using infrared treatments and as a Massage Therapist I decided to do light traction. We had nothing to loose. Holly got worse than the next day got so much better an a week later she walked across the room and returned to good health. We also Prayed over her as the Healer is up over your head, just ask for help. Not all dogs recover and I am pleased to see here that the Docs in Farmington could help. Also, keep in mind that X-rays cannot read soft tissue.

No x-rays or anything else. Sent me home with a pain med and told me to make him stay still for a few days and they would call and check up on him. They never called. Three days later his hind legs were paralyzed and a real vet sent me up to an amazing hospital in Farmington for emergency surgery. I wish I could sue this place. And the super aggressive blonde tech is a real piece of work as well. In this instance you CAN judge a book by it's cover. if you care about your pets, I would drive on by.

They rushed through a post op exam and told me he was fine despite my complaints then told me they didn't have any openings for him to be seen soon when I called back. He went from nausea and vomiting to a fever, could not rest/sleep, and had stopped eating and drinking. When I called Graber's the compassionate receptionist found a spot for me to bring him in to see Dr John right away and what a difference. Dr John is the most thorough and thoughtful vet I have ever known. He spent a great deal of time examining him and running lab work. It turned out he was septic. He had a serious infection (likely from his dental) and his liver was in major trouble. Dr John gave him an injection of an antibiotic, a steroid injection, and medication to take daily to help his liver heal. Within a day my boy was eating, drinking and even nudged me to go on a short walk. Dr John followed up with me on the phone a few days later and his level of concern and care was genuine. I am so grateful to have my pup back and I know this is the place that saved him. Thank you Grabers!!

My dog has been treated for 11 years by Dr. Steve for anxiety and a call to talk reschedule instead of a 20 minute wait to be informed of this and now to have to stress her out again tomorrow is completely unconscionable. It is clear they care more about money than the animals they treat, or the owners time

After 5 years, I will be taking my dog to another vet for care. The only reason I have taken her…read morethere is because that's where the rescue originally took her. Over the past 5 years, I have experienced rudeness from the front desk and assistants. The intake lady acted like she didn't even want to touch my 5lbs dog and acted scared of her. Then, the fees are exorbitant and have only gotten more out of hand. You want to charge me $1200-$1600 for a DENTAL CLEANING AND 1 EXTRACTION?! I called multiple other vets to find that service at half the price for my specific dog. Additionally, the newest vet I saw (seems like a revolving door), while very nice, gave her a 2 week injection and a 1 week supply of pain meds for a bad tooth and the front desk proceeded to tell me the only surgeon available is an entire month out. This is in line with their other scheduling, which sometimes means a month wait for a "sick" animal. Finally, the vet tech tried to tell me that my dog needs a rabies vaccine despite having had one in June (and it's on her record). The new vet laughed at that requirement anyway, as it is not needed for a sedated procedure. The worst of it all is that when the new vet called for my dog's records, their only concern was whether she would be keeping her dental appointment in March. Completely unacceptable all around!!

During a routine…read moreexam my dogs spine was "collapsed in the T5-6 disc space with T2/STIR Hyperintensity of the disc space". Quoted from Blue Pearl Neurology Farmington Mi. This left my dog a paraplegic which resulted in euthanasia. Dr. Starkey failed to disclose the injury just telling me she had to "manhandle" Kaiser and he may be sore. When Kaiser could not stand I told her directly my dog was unable to walk at least twice and upon the third time she tossed me a blanket and said use this as a sling and take him out. This Dr. sent my pet home with a broken back and allowed him to suffer for 5 days until I could get him to a neurologist that verified what had happed. Incident has been reported to the Ohio State Board of Veternarian's for a malpractice complaint. There are many good veterinarians out there, do yourself and your pet a favor and use them.
